This is set back in the old issues... like number 30 or somehing like that. my first semi AU fic

Just seconds ago, I thought he remembered me, as he came to a screeching halt moments before he almost ripped me apart limb from limb. His newly made metallic claws and teeth reflect the sun into my eyes, blinding me briefly. He still had his studded collar, just as he did the day he was taken from me. Suddenly, he turns tail, and makes his leave. Emotion wells up inside me in a brief internal explosion. I am running through the snow, which is impairing my ability to run fast. I trip and fall face first into the snow, caking onto my face. My tears burn trails into the small ice particles on my cheeks. I watch as he follows the swatbots off towards the mountain range.

"Muttski! Come back!" I cry out, reaching a hand forward, scrambling to get up. "I can help you! Muttski!"

"Let him go, Sonic…" My Uncle Chuck's voice sounds of behind me. I look, and see "Twan" bringing up the rear. Uncle Chuck has a device in his metal hands, with knob, or dials, or whatever.

"I called off that 'bot attack, Sonic!" His voice echoes through that empty mountain. "Though my mind is no longer under Robotnik's control, I still have acsess to some of his secret codes and equipment! But I'm afraid the same can't be said for poor Muttski's mind! He's still a 'bot, Sonic, and since he knows you sent than anyone, he's your most dangerous foe!"

"I'll never believe that! Not Muttski!" I scream out in frustration. Can't they understand he's my dog?

Tails helps Sally touch down beside me, him having saved her from a nasty fall of the cliff. She had apparently heard and saw the whole thing.

"Sonic…" Her hand reached for my shoulder, but I smack it away.

"I want my dog back…" was all I could say, feeling the burning hatred of Dr. Robotnik rise up inside me. He took my parents… he took my uncle away for a short time… even my dog. He took something from all of us Freedom Fighters… but the most was taken from me. He could have just captured me, but intead… he stole my family.

"I will bring you back, Muttski… I swear it on the great King of Mobius… where he may be, now…"

That was three weeks ago. I had managed to track them down. Swatbots lay in smashed crumpled heaps, as I sport a few scrapes and bruises. Muttski is staring me down with his robotic eyes, razor teeth bared and reflecting the lights of the alarms. He digs his metal claws into ground, waiting for me to strike.

"I don't wanna fight you boy… but I will if I must…"

We both charge at each other, lost in a fight between good and evil, right or wrong, love or hate… friends or foes… only the end of this will decide.
