“‘Love and pain become one and the same in the eyes of a wounded child.’ Do you know who said that?”

Chase Stein wrinkled his nose in a combination of distaste and confusion. “Someone that was beaten a lot as a kid?” Lola Strathmore sighed.

“Pat Benatar.” silence. “Hell is for children?” more silence. “You are losing credit with me by the second, Stein.”

“She was a singer from the eighties. Love is a battlefield was one of her songs.”

Lola sighed happily, clasping her hands together under her chin. “Oh Vic, you gorgeous hunk of metal, you! With every day that passes-”

“You fall for me more and more, I got it, Lolly. Quit it. Its very flattering, but I don’t want to get turned into a giant can opener again if Nico catches you saying stuff like that.” the technophile pouted, tapping her index fingers together.

“Aw, c’mon, Vic! I could be the best girlfriend ever! We could totally geek out in ways that you have never dreamed!” she wiggled her eyebrows suggestively. “Let me recalibrate your circuits, baby!” Chase laughed, punching Victor in the arm.

“Can’t argue with that, Vic! Though I would worry about leaving the two biggest geeks in the known universe alone together...I might come back to find you guys playing World of Warcraft or something. Sex-ay!” Xavin and Karolina, who had walked in sometime around World of Warcraft, looked at each other.

“Do we even want to know?” the blonde asked. Chase grinned.

“Lolly wants to give Victorious here a niiiiiiice tune-up, doncha, Lolls?” she blushed.

“Chase!”

Xavin tried to look disinterested while Karolina laughed behind her hand. Molly tilted her head to the side.

“Is something wrong with Victor? Did he wonder about God’s sandwich again?” they were all quiet, then even Xavin and Lola burst into peals of laughter. “What? What’s going on?”

“I feel like I’m being left out of something important.” the laughter stopped.

Nico stood in the hangar, hands on her hips, a small smile playing around her lips. Lola gulped, then dove for her toolbox. “It’s nothing, Nico. The Leapfrog just needs a nice tune-up, that’s all.”

Karolina giggled, then clapped a hand over her mouth. Nico rolled her eyes.

“You’re all insane.” she said with a sigh, stalking off to her room. Victor breathed a sigh of relief, trailing after her. Soon, the only two left in the hangar with the ‘Frog were Molly and Lola.

“Hand me that wrench, wouldja, Molls?” the wrench clattered next to her. “Thanks, sweetie. You can go if you want.” under her breath, Lola the technophile began to sing. “They cry in the night so you can’t see their tears. They hide in the dark so you can’t see their fears. Hmm hm hm hm, hell is for children...”

Fini

I love that song so much! But yeah, what other song encompasses the Runaways as completely as Hell is for Children? None, that’s what. Lola the technophile is a being of my own creation. She is probably going to die soon, because it is in my nature to kill the people I make. Damnit. Now drop me a review before I drop dead!
