What are you talking about?” Grissom was very surprised and confused about what Sara was talking about.

Yeah you heard me Grissom! I saw you!” Tears were starting to form in her eyes. “I was standing right there across the hall looking right at you!”

What? What did you see?” His voice was on edge. He knew exactly what she was talking about.

She looked down at her hands, she laughed a humorless laugh. “You know what it really doesn’t matter. Do you know what you are the most un-observant man I have ever known! You and Catherine! I saw you together! I was right there!” She was so angry.

He took a deep breath and sighed; he tried to say something but she cut him off. “You know what I quit and you know what else here you can give this to Catherine!” She ripped off the engagement ring he had given her a few weeks ago. Sara went over to the door and ripped it open. She practically ran down the hall to the lab’s locker room, ripping the lock off she grabbed everything she had in there and stuffed into her backpack she carried around and stormed out. From there she ran; she ran quickly toward the door to her freedom of the pain.

It’s getting to hard to stand it! I just want it to be over forever!’ She thought as she walked out of the lab and out into the street. She looked up, looking at the sky watching the cool rain as it hit her eyes. “The pain I have suffered over the years is all because of you!” She was screaming at the sky. Her eyes started to burn from the rain falling in her eyes. Sara started walking down the street she heard three people screaming her name but, she ignored all of them. “Just shut up! All of you! I hate you!” She started to cry. Why was she taking it out on her friends? They did nothing to her expect help her.

Sara! Wait!” She did not recognize this voice. She turned around curios as to who was yelling at her other than Greg and Warrick. Of course it was Nick why didn’t she know this? Nick was running toward her now moving body. Nick was the last person she wanted to talk to. He had always been there for her but; she just did not want to talk at all. The rain had picked up a bit. Pulling her hood she protected her damped face.

Sara hang on! Please!”

This time she stopped turning around; she saw his face. His beautiful, damped face. She did not understand why but, for some reason she was trying to resist kissing him. She did not know what was going on. ‘Maybe I am getting sick from the rain. Real sick’ “What do you want?” She tried sounding angry even though that was the way she was feeling she couldn’t. Her voice sounded scared and sad.

Listen Sara, I know what he done to you and I just wanted to tell you I am here for you no matter what!” His voice was so firm but, yet it was soft.

She sighed, “Nick I…I just can’t talk about anything that happened to me. It makes me sick just thinking about it!” She lowered her head the more she thought about it the sadder she got.

He sighed he hated seeing her sad, “okay just know I am always here. Always anything you need I will be there!”

Thanks Nick I needed that!” She walked over to his now open arms. She never knew how warm he always was; how much muscle he had. She couldn’t help herself from running her hands up his back. He jumped and looked down at her she was fixated on him that she barely noticed him looking at. When she did notice him staring down at her not in angry but in curiosity. Sara blushed and stuttered. “Uh sorry I uh,” she bit her lip.

He just smiled he wasn’t angry no the opposite he had never been happier. He could have stayed like that forever just staring into her beautiful eyes. Her beautiful dark brown eyes. She stood up on tip toes, closing her eyes she kissed him. Again he was shocked but, he did not fight it at all. Nick was eager and so was Sara. She knew this was weird but, maybe she should thank Catherine for stealing Grissom, her almost husband, away from her. Because, Nick was so much better and she didn’t have to fight for him or be in pain because of him. Nick had been in front of her ever since she came here 7 years ago. He was who shed loved not Grissom.
