Torn Between Two

Chapter two: Worried
Note:
One again this chapter starts with a flashback of episode 39 after Kisshu passed out.
Also I’m changing a few things. One episode 39 happens after Christmas, but I’m making it before Christmas. Another thing I’m changing everyone ages by three years. The battle with the aliens is taking them three years to fight because it makes things more intense with Kisshu’s planet and there is another reason why I wanted Ichigo to be sixteen years old and you’ll find out in future chapters.
“What an idiot. How could he have feelings for a human?” says the shortest alien.
The two aliens land on the ground. Ichigo looks at them in anger. “How dare you use my dream and try to hurt my friends!”
Pai just lets a little chuckle like she’s no threat at all.
“What’s so funny?” asks the cat girl.
“That’s why I always say you humans are so selfish!” he shouts at her with a glare.
The little alien points at the cat girl in anger and says, “You hurt Kisshu as well! We too are fighting for our friends!”
“We have to exterminate the humans of this planet as soon as possible,” says Pai and he starts walking towards the mew mews.
Ichigo quickly steps back just in case he would do anything to hurt her, but the two aliens just go to their fallen friend. They lift him up and look back at them. The little alien tells them that they have who friends are waiting from them on their planet.
“Planet…friends?” Ichigo says quietly.
“Excuse us. I’m looking forward to our next fight,” the purple alien says and Taruto and him disappear with Kisshu.
“It seems that those people do have feelings. They’re concerned about their friends just as we are,” says Lettuce after the three aliens vanished. Then the four other mew mews walk up next to Ichigo who is staring at the sky.
“Are we really selfish?” asks Lettuce.
“People can be foolish,” says Zakuro. The mew mews look at the wolf mew in shock. “So we always have to look for the answer. What is it that one really has to protect?”
Ichigo turns her head and looks up at the sky again. She stares at a bright star in the night sky and says, “Kisshu…”
The cat girl hits an alarm clock that is on her nightstand beside her bed. She sits up and stretches her arms. That dream she just had was about what happen two weeks ago. Ichigo can’t get those events out her mind. She keeps thinking about Kisshu and his planet. She just gets out her bed and gets ready for school trying to forget about it.
After she gets ready, Ichigo grabs her school bag and heads out the door. On her way to school the little robot Masha pops up big size in panic. “Ichigo! Alien alert! Alien Alert!”
The cat girl looks around and sees Taruto attacking the town with some plant Chimera Anima that he created. Ichigo quickly transforms and attacks one of the monsters. She fights three big bush monsters which is taking her time up to get to school on time.
“Why you!” yells the little alien after she defeats all three of them.
“I don’t have time for this!” Ichigo yells back at him.
“Well, we’re running out of time!” He yells at her and disappears.
“Running out of time…,” Ichigo trails off. She spaces out for a moment thinking about what he meant by that, but she feels a nudge on her shoulder and looks at the little robot.
“Ichigo late! Ichigo late!” he cries trying to get her to realize she’ll be late for school.
“Crap!” Ichigo yells and turns back into her human form when she understands what Masha meant by late. She quickly runs to school praying that she won’t be late.
Meanwhile Kisshu is sitting on one roof tops on Tokyo Tower, thinking about how to spy on the mew mews. He looks all around the city determining what to do. He knows it will be easy to spy on them at their work, but he knows he can’t just sit in that café without paying for anything.
“Oi!” shouts a voice from behind the green hair alien.
Kisshu turns his body and sees the little alien coming towards him. He just stands up and flies towards him instead of Taruto coming to him. “What is it?” he asks when he reaches the midget.
“Shouldn’t you being your job?” he asks.
Kisshu sighs and says, “What did Pai send you to check on me?”
“No I just saw you,” he answers. “Aren’t you going to spy?”
“I will. I just need to figures things out first,” the green alien says to his little friend.
“Hmm Kisshu are you sure you can handle this? I mean you were seriously injured two weeks ago. Are you sure you’re healthy?” he asks his friend with a worried look in his eye.
“Taruto, I’m fine now I have to go,” he says and flies off somewhere else.
“Kisshu, you’re pushing yourself too hard..,” the little alien trails off.
Ichigo made it to school on time and doesn’t get in trouble with the teacher. She kind wished she was late because they are taking a history test very first thing when school starts. The cat girl hasn’t been really doing her homework lately because she can’t stop thinking about Kisshu. She is really worried about him. Also, Pai and Taruto have been attacking more lately which is taking up her time to do school work.
She just looks out the window and stares at the sky. She can’t help, but think about the aliens. This war with them has been lasting for three years. She’s getting pretty tried of this. Ichigo now starts to wonder if Lettuce was right about talking things out with them in the beginning when they first became mews.
“Momomiya-san!” yells the teacher.
“Huh?” she looks back at the class and sees the teacher standing in front of her desk.
“The test is over,” he says to her and grabs the paper off her desk. He looks at it. “You have nothing on it. I suggest you studied harder.” He then walks back to the front of the classroom.
‘The aliens are really ruining everything,’ she thinks to herself and looks back out the window.
The moment she looks out the window Ichigo sees a medium size figure floating outside of the window. She rubs her eyes and looks back at the window and sees that it is gone. For a second she thought that shadowy figure was Kisshu, but she just hits herself on the head mentally. ‘There is no way he can be out there. He’s hurt for pete sake Ichigo! You shouldn’t worry about him. He’s the enemy!’
After school Ichigo heads to Café Mew Mew, on the way there she feels like someone is following her. She keeps looking from the behind, but there is no one there. She just decides she’s going crazy and keeps on going to the café.
She gets the café and heads to the changing room and gets ready for work. After she’s in her work uniform, Ichigo starts to wait on people. One of the people she’s been waiting on hasn’t left at all. He keeps ordering water and Ichigo wonders if he hasn’t any money at all.
The guy who keeps ordering water is Kisshu. When he looked at the menu when he got there, he read that water was free in a glass so he keeps ordering it. He doesn’t want to leave because the mews can give away any secrets at any time, but he’s starting to believe that they don’t talk about it around the customers.
“Excuse me,” Ichigo say to him when she brings him another glass of water. “Aren’t you going to order any food?”
He looks up at her. “I’m not hungry.”
“Then leave. You’re not allowed to sit around like that,” she says trying to keep her cool. The cat girl can easily get angry at the customers.
“What if I was dying of thirst? Would you still not let me stay?” he asks in a smartass tone.
“You had twenty glasses of water I think you’re fine now get out,” she says and walks away.
Kisshu sighs and leaves. There isn’t really much to find out about the mews anyway, but he still sticks around the café just in case. He just goes behind the café and turn back into his alien form. Then he floats to the top of the roof and waits until they all leave. He can sink into it after it’s closed.
A little while later the sun starts to go down, and Kisshu sees Ichigo and Minto leaving the café. They are the last to leave expect for Ryou since he lives there. His ears perk when he hears them talking.
“Please give a ride home, Minto,” Ichigo asks her. “I forgot my coat in the changing room and Ryou already locked up.”
“Stop complaining,” says the bird girl.
“But it’s cold outside! I don’t want to catch a cold!”
‘Cold? This warm compare to my planet,’ Kisshu thinks to himself.
“Fine,” Minto finally agrees.
“Thank you so much!” Ichigo hugs her friend.
“Hey, Ichigo.”
“Yeah?” The cat girl lets go of her friend.
“Have you notice that Taruto and Pai are the only ones attacking?” she asks her friend. She’s been wondering why Kisshu hasn’t been attacking.
“Kisshu is injured remember?”
“Yeah, but I’m beginning to wonder if something happen to him.”
Ichigo looks down at the ground and mutters, “I hope not.”
“Did you say something?” Minto asks Ichigo.
The cat girl looks up from the ground quickly. “Nope a course not! Hey look it’s your limo!” She says and points to the vehicle.
“Hmmm…I think you’re staring to gain feelings for him,” Minto says figuring that what she muttered to herself must be about the green hair alien.
“We better get in!” Ichigo says and pushes her friend into the limo when the driver opened the door.
Kisshu stands up and watches the car drive away. He heard what Ichigo say to herself thanks to his alien hearing. He really wants to go over to her house and talk to her, but he hits himself on the head.
“No! You can’t love her anymore, but…,” he trails off and just disappears away from the café. Kisshu can’t help it he needs to talk to her.
Ichigo is sitting at her desk in her bedroom doing homework. Her attention turns away from it when she hears a tapping on her window. The cat girl stands up and walks over to it. She opens the window up and sees Kisshu floating in front of her in midair.
“Hey,” he says.
“Kisshu! What are you doing here?” she asks him and looks around to see if Pai and Taruto are behind him.
“I heard your conversation with the bird girl. So your worried about me, huh?” he answers her with a smirk on his face.
“I am not worried!” Ichigo yells at him trying to get rid of those feelings she’s starting to gain for him. “And leave! You’re letting the cold air in!”
The little robot that was sleeping wakes up and sees Kisshu. He screams alien and charges towards him, but Kisshu flicks him away like he was nothing,
“Masha!” Ichigo grabs the robot and places him on her bed which is next to the bedroom window.
“You call this cold?” Kisshu asks her ignoring the fact that he hurt Masha.
“Yes it is! Now leave!” she shouts at him.
“I don’t think so,” he says and enters her room leaving the window wide open. He then approaches her and pushes to her to floor and gets on top of her.
“Get off of me!” she yells at him and tries to push him off, but he’s too strong for her.
“I just want to know why you are worried about me,” he says.
“Okay so I am worried about you,” She finally admits to him and finds the strength push him off by hitting his stomach.
The green hair alien sits up and puts his arms over his stomach. He has look of pain in his eye. That’s the only area that hasn’t healed fully.
“Kisshu,” Ichigo says in concern voice.
“I’m fine..,” he says in pain and stands up. “See ya around, Koneko-chan.” With that the green hair alien flies out of her room.
Ichigo rushes over to the window and pokes her head out of it. “Wait!” she cries back, but he ignores her and keeps flying away.
Ichigo gives up and pulls her head back into her room. She closes the window and walks over to her bed. She sits down and lets out a big sigh.
“Masha, why am I so worried about him?” she asks looking at the little robot. “I mean I can’t be falling in love with him. There’s no way…”
“Ichigo?” says Masha not understanding about what’s she’s talking about.
Ichigo just picks him and pets him on the head. “If I am falling in love with him I’ll just ignore it. After all I do have a boyfriend.”
Kisshu appears in the alien hideout. He tells Pai that the mews say nothing about their plans at work. Pai looks at him for a second then sighs. “Kisshu, we just need to know their weaknesses so we can easily fight them off.”
“Yeah, but they didn’t show anything at while working at the café so I thought I learn about their plans,” Kisshu tells him.
“You should know that they wouldn’t say anything in front of those humans.”
“I know…” Kisshu is trying his best, but his best is failing horribly
“You’ll have to watch them somewhere else then,” says the tall alien.
“How? During the day they’re at school and later they’re at work.”
“Exactly. I want you to go to one their schools. They’ll probably show a lot of weaknesses there.”
Kisshu just nods and heads to his room. Kisshu lies down on his bed, when he gets inside. “Why can’t he do it? He makes it sound so easy.” He turns to his side and looks at the wall. “It looks like I’ll never get over my feelings for her. Damn it! Why did I have to fall in love with her?!?” Kisshu then just lies back on his back and puts the pillow over his face.
