A/N: Don't question me on how old this is...I'm sorry I haven't been working on my un-finished stories...so very sorry ToT
But this, and chapter 2, are both pretty old. So I'm gonna post them here.
If you think any of my OCs are Mary-Sue's or Gary-Stu/Lou's, good for you, go away.
Okay…sooo…I’m going to be writing all my OC’s (original character’s) backstories and such. I mean, GEEZUS! I tried drawing them and…god…
Anyways, each will start off with a quote from said person, and will begin with them in childhood, probably around age 4 or 5.
Now, each person here has their own version of angst. You may agree with one person and disagree with another, but, basically…no one is completely horrible for no reason.
Now, enjoy the first of twelve

Kyari Kwan
The Emperor stood in the picture, staring blankly at the camera. His glasses scooted further down his nose, and he reached up and put them back on to normal. Looking around at his family, he frowned. Why…what is wrong here? He saw his wife standing next to him, not too close or too far, with her hand on their son’s shoulder. Her curly black hair swayed over her glasses, and her eyes were closed gently as her bright white teeth smiled at the painter and her kids. Next in line was their first daughter, the age of 8, turning 9 very soon. Short bangs covered over her forehead, and her hair was half tied back, half down, reaching barely past her shoulders. She had one hand behind her neck, and a bright smile covering her face. After her came his only son, who was next in line to be Emperor. He had bangs identical to his older sister’s, although short hair in back. He had his arms crossed and was glaring at his older sister. I wonder what she said to him… The man thought. But that wasn’t all, his youngest and last child, a daughter, stood in the focal point of the picture. Her bangs were nothing like the rest of the family, instead two long strands of hair came down to her shoulders. Her hair was halfway tied up like her sister’s, but the rest of it reached down much further, stopping mid-back. He could see her smiling just as her sister…but…
She didn’t mean it.
His son showed when he was upset, so why would his daughter try to hide it? Something she couldn’t let even her family know about? No…she was so young, only 5 years old, how could she know what was what and how to act in the world?
The man glared directly at his youngest daughter, and he noticed her shiver for a second.
She…sensed my glare?
He stared at her strangely. This daughter of mine…is not normal.
The Empress opened her eyes and looked over at her husband. He was thinking hard about something. “What’s wrong?” She whispered to him.
He turned towards her. “Nothing. Why?”
“Da, I think I know when something’s wrong. You’re thinking too hard about something, and I’d like to know.” A worried look spread over her face. “We haven’t been married for 10 years so that we would keep secrets from each other.”
He sighed. “I’m just…thinking. It’s nothing, I promise.”
She stared at him for another second, then decided to drop the subject.
Meanwhile, their daughter’s ears had perked up. Dad won’t tell mom what he’s thinking about…which means it’s about one of us…again. The little girl had learned from watching her parents closely that her father would tell her mother everything unless it involved one of his children. He never wanted to upset her. Her eyes drooped downwards, which sent some uncomfortable vibes to her older sister.
When the oldest child started to look sad, the younger brother noticed and started to smirk. It finally hit her. Glad she knows whose boss around here.
The Emperor opened his eyes. What the…? Everyone’s faces had suddenly changed. His wife was trying her hardest to smile, but he could tell now he had upset her. Telling her that I think her daughter is some abnormal freak will upset her much more. She’ll get over it. Then he noticed his son’s proud, victorious face. Wha- He cut off his own thoughts as he switched his eyes over to his oldest daughter. Ah…the guilt from whatever she’d done to him must’ve hit her. So now he feels victorious, like he caused it. But looking down at his youngest daughter, her face was in the perfect position that he couldn’t see anything. All he could see was the back of her head, and her ears. But, unfortunately for his daughter, her ears were bright red, to show that she was angry or sad. She can’t hide from me, even if she knows I’m looking.
The painter looked up. Now, this was different. The people with smiling faces had suddenly become gloomy, the one gloomy child was now looking very confident and proud of himself…and then the Emperor was looking slightly confused, but thoughtful at the same time. He looked down at his painting and back up at them over and over.
“Something wrong?”
The painter jumped as he quickly stood up and got on his knees. “No, never. Just…just…comparing skin tones and such.”
“Alright, now, continue.” The Emperor brushed the painter back towards his workstation with his hand.
“Yes, of course.” The man bowed and quickly went back to work. I guess I’ll just stick to the old faces, it’ll look much better with more people smiling anyways. He thought, adding another stroke of dark brown to the youngest girl’s hair.
…
…
…
The painter looked down at his work. It looked beautiful in every way, every stroke of the hair, clothing, eyes-
He looked at one pair of eyes.
Something was not right…those eyes…
They weren’t sad, happy, angry, scared…
Nothing!
The eyes…
Of that one, little girl.
…
…
The Emperor praised the painter of the great work in his painting. “Beautiful brush work! I’ll make sure to hire you again!”
The painter happily accepted the praise, saying, “Thank you, sir.” and “I agree, sir.” every few seconds.
All the children headed back to their bedrooms, it was getting awfully late in the day, and they were dead-tired.
Well…not all of them were.
That youngest daughter, the subject on two men’s mind for the past hours, was not getting ready for sleep. Instead, she sat on her bed, staring out the window, thinking and listening.
“I think…tonight is the night.”
…
…
The girl knew this would be something that would be hard to get through. Almost impossible for someone of her age and stature! But she also knew, that it was the only way.
It must be done.
Around one or two in the morning, everyone was asleep except the night guards. The girl feigned being asleep for the longest amount of time, to her, it felt like forever…hearing footsteps going back and forth outside her door, conversations going on between the most unlikely friends, and such.
Staying up late here must only be a servant thing.
When footsteps stopped coming, and people stopped talking, she knew that the coast was clear. She quietly leaped out of bed, quickly going through her closet.
I hope I won’t regret this…
Pulling out a pair of scissors, she stepped into her bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. She steadily took out her hair-tie and let her long hair flow to her back. She stared blankly at the mirror for a minute, taking in every breath.
This is the start of a new beginning.
She had been telling people since she could talk that she wanted to grow her hair out as long as possible. She’d never cut it; it was going to stay long.
That’s the first thing to throw them off.
No, she hadn’t been planning this since she could talk. But, thinking about only a year age when the plan first started, she exhaled.
I’m giving up everything…
Taking the scissors, the small girl chopped off the most of her hair, making it shorter than her older sister’s. She stepped outside of the bathroom, taking a last look at every luxury she had come to know since she was little. She closed her eyes and stepped into her closet again, pulling out the last outfit from there she’d wear. She quickly put it on and grabbed a jacket, putting that on as well. She looked around.
…but it’ll be worth it.
…
…
…
She quickly tiptoed out of her bedroom and down where the artist had left their family picture.
Something to remember it…I’m sure I’ll need it…
She grabbed the nearest camera, and quickly took a photograph of the painting.
Why Dad couldn’t just take a photograph of us…I’ll never know…
And stuffed it in her pocket.
But the memory's will last either way…
…
…
…
She inhaled loudly and grabbed her bedsheets. As she tied them together, she noticed drops of water appearing on them.
I can’t cry…I can’t show that sort of weakness…
She quickly wiped away the tears and continued tying the sheets together.
I won’t let anything stop me.
When she was done, the girl quickly tied the end of the sheet to her dresser, adding a few more objects to make sure it wouldn’t fall. Then she thought for a second…quickly taking off the extra weight and moving the dresser next to the window.
Time to leave…
She grabbed hold of the tied bedsheets and tugged. Good, it’s nice and tight. She stepped on the window ledge, still holding on.
…and never come back.
And she stepped out and climbed down the wall towards the ground.
…
…
…
She tied up her hair, even her bangs, so it would be out of her face. Too bad for her, she hadn’t had a chance to leave till early in the morning, and after only a few steps a commotion was heard. She quickly sprinted away, behind the bushes and through the trees, hearing people screaming her name in the background.
“KYARORAIN!!!!”
Her family...
“MISS HUANG!!”
Her servants…
“KYARORAIN!!…”
It got quieter.
“Misss Huaanngg…”
She could hear the name drag on…and knew that it was the last she’d ever hear of that name.
…
…
…
Through treacherous forests, traveling past many villages…kind families offering her food and asking about the whereabouts of her parents.
She’d only accept the food, say “Thank you.” and never answer their questions.
Days, weeks, months passed…it’d been almost a year now, and she had been going for almost 5 days without a bite to eat.
Clutching her jacket, she fell to her knees and clawed the ground.
“Happy birthday, self…”
She clutched her stomach and stared upwards, only to see the bright sun torturing her vision. She glared at the sky when everything started to get darker and darker…until she fell to the ground in starvation.
…
…
“Hidetaka, dear, I see something up ahead. What do you think it could possibly be?” The elderly woman walked closer up to the figure lying on the grass.
Her eyes widened as she started to make out the figure of a person, a little girl, in fact…lying on the ground, completely knocked out.
“Goodness! Hidetaka! Come over here!” She put an ear to the girl’s chest.
“Chouchi? What’s wro--” The man’s eyes widened as he took a look at the little girl laying in his wife’s arms. “What in the…?!”
“She’s still alive!” The woman picked up the girl bridal style, and started walking back to the couple’s home.
The man scratched the back of his head and followed. A little girl…?
…
…
…
The girl’s eyes drifted slowly open as she smelled a powerful aroma.
“Oh, Hidetaka, she’s coming to!”
The smell came closer as she heard multiple footsteps approaching. As the smell came right next to the girl’s head, she jolted upwards, making the elderly woman jump.
“F-food…?” The girl looked over.
“Y-yes, of course! Take all you need!”
The brunette nodded thankfully and started chomping away.
What a strange little girl… The man thought. “Are…are you alright…?”
The girl paused in eating. “Y-yes…thank you so much for your help.” She bowed at them. “If there’s any way I can repay you-”
“Don’t even think about it.” The woman cut her off. “You just keep eating for now, and we’ll keep you here until your parents show up.”
She paused. “That’s not going to happen.” She said straightforward.
“Oh?” The woman stared at her. “Why…?”
“They…” The girl couldn’t say she ran away. She couldn’t say she’s a princess! They’d start to treat her the way she’d wanted to get away from. “…were killed. Along with the rest of my family.”
“Oh, dear!” Chouchi grabbed the 6-year-old and hugged her tight. “I’m so sorry…”
“It’s alright…that was almost a year ago anyways…”
“A year!? You’ve been traveling by yourself for…a year?!!?” The woman’s eyes were looking wide and worried.
“Ah…well, yes…” The girl said, but kept talking before the woman could cut her off. “But people along the way have been helping me get to where I want to be.”
“So…where are you headed?” The man questioned her.
“A hidden village, you might not’ve heard of it.”
The couple exchanged looks. “Try us.”
“The Hidden Leaf Village, Konohagure.”
The couple smiled at her.
She stared blankly at them. “What…?”
“Welcome home!”
…
…
…
A year went by, the girl didn’t keep her original first name, “Kyarorain”, but instead went by “Kyari.” The family gave her their last name; “Kwan” and she took it easily.
So, as of then, Kyari Kwan was adopted by Chouchi and Hidetaka Kwan.
They all lived happily together for many months; Kyari had thanked them everyday for everything they’d done for her, and everyday they’d say it was no problem or their pleasure.
She had to say…
It has been worth it.
…
…
…
This was, though, until one horrible night.
Kyari had just gotten home from playing with some friends, Juurou Buraindo and Akane Mokumoku. She skipped home, humming along the way. She knew very well that Aunt Chouchi and Uncle Hidetaka (which is what she’d come to call them) wouldn’t get mad that she’d been out later then expected, she’d done it before. She chuckled thinking of what the first time was like, where they had went up to the Hokage himself and told him to send an ANBU search party…so the 3rd called their home and she’d just gotten home right then.
She stepped inside the home, calling out their names. “I’m ho-ome!!! Sorry I’m so late!” She kept walking through the house, but paused when she got to the kitchen.
There was blood.
And a lot of it.
Her eyes widened as she took in everything around her. She could practically hear the screams of her guardians that she’d come to know and love so much.
Oh…please no…
She stepped into the next room, running straight over to the wall, clawing the railing. She closed her eyes tightly and listened to find out if anyone was there.
There was.
She turned around, hoping for anything different then what she expected.
Anything!
When she looked around in the dark, she could still clearly see what was going on. Three bodies lay on the ground.
Two she recognized, one she automatically hated.
That man…killed…he KILLED them! Then killed himself to cover it up!
Tears began to fill her eyes, making them blurry and red.
“N-NO!” She fell to her knees, eyes still open wide. “WHY?!!?” She screamed up towards the heavens, falling to the ground and lying in the fetal position.
“Hidetaka…Chouchi…what had they done…to deserve this…?!” She cried as loud as ever.
…
…
…
Kyari woke up with the disgusting smell of blood surrounding her. She wiped her eyes, remembering what she’d seen, and looked at it again. It was early in the morning, she could tell by how the light was coming in through the windows.
The first thing she noticed that she hadn’t seen before glowed in the light. Blood stains kept parts of it from glowing, but she recognized it.
A hitai ate.
A ninja headband.
She figured it out. So…they used to be ninja. They knew secret information. They were murdered. Simple, right?
But this is a 6-year-old we’re talking about! She quickly wiped her eyes again and opened the door, revealing her friend Juurou.
“Did you hear?! The entire Uchiha clan has been murdered!” Juurou screamed at her, his eyes open wide.
Kyari’s eyes widened. The same night…? “I c-can’t talk…”
“Why? What’s wro--” Juurou quickly looked behind her. “OH MY GOD!!”
Kyari started to sob again, and Juurou quickly huddled around her. “I’m so sorry…”
She put her head on his shoulder and cried louder. He sat there and patted her back lightly, a concerned look covering his face.
…
…
…
“Did you report it yet?” Juurou asked her.
She shook her head. “N-not yet…”
“Do you know who did it?”
“He…ki—committed suicide, afterwards.” She kept her eyes locked on the ground.
“O-oh…” Juurou stood up and held out his hand. “Come on, let’s go over to the Hokage.”
Juurou put his arm around her as they slowly walked towards the building where the 3rd hokage worked.
…
…
…
…
“Kyari, I’m very sorry for your loss.” The hokage took his pipe out of his mouth to talk. “Are you going to be able to take care of yourself?”
She nodded.
“You’ll need a way to make money…”
“I’ve already decided what I’ll do.” She kept her eyes on the ground, and glared at it for no reason.
“Oh? What’s tha-”
“I’m going to become a Konoha shinobi.” She lifted her head up, eyebrows diagonal and giving her a confident look. “Please enter me in the academy as soon as possible.”
He stared at her for a second, then smiled.
“Of course.”
