Author’s Notes
I do not own the original Sailor Moon characters; they were created by Naoko Takeuchi. However, I did make up all the other new people, such as the Sugar Senshi and the villains. Yes, I know I have used dessert names before for my fan Senshi, but this is meant to be a separate story from the “Crystal Tokyo Series,” and it’s meant to have a fairly different plot and setting. I also have my Senshi list, since there are 12 new ones to keep track of.
Pixie Beauregarde is Sailor Caramel
Moonbeam Cardiff is Sailor Chocolate
Spring McDonald is Sailor Cinnamon
Sunshine Roberts is Sailor Cupcake
Winter Glimmer is Sailor Gumdrop
Summer Huffington is Sailor Ice Cream
Melody Malone is Sailor Licorice
Harmony Glass is Sailor Lollipop
Autumn Green is Sailor Marshmallow
Stardust Green is Sailor Peppermint
Shadow Taylor is Sailor Pudding
Crystal Ipswitch is Sailor Vanilla
Chapter 1: A Ruined Birthday
It was the early morning hours in Crystal Tokyo, and Chibi-Usa Tsukino was asleep, dreaming happily. In her dreams, she and her mother were at their birthday party, which would occur later that day, and they were eating lots of sweets. Many different flavors of ice cream were there, chocolate, vanilla, peppermint and caramel, as well as things like cinnamon cookies, marshmallows, gumdrops, all kinds of puddings, cupcakes, licorice and lollipops. This sweet dream was rudely interrupted when Chibi-Usa heard her alarm clock go off. She bolted awake, staring at the clock.
“It’s only 3 AM! I didn’t set it to that time!” she shouted angrily.
“I’m sorry, Small Lady, but I had to wake you up. Rei called me, and she seems very worried about something.” Chibi-Usa blinked in disbelief. Her mother had woke her up early? She was so surprised at that idea that it took her a bit to realize what she had just been told.
“What happened? Is Rei hurt?” Chibi-Usa asked, now worried too. Rei would only bother Serenity and Chibi-Usa at night unless it truly was serious. She knew how much both Moon bunnies liked to sleep in, especially on their birthday.
“I don’t know. Rei had a bad dream, about these five lights attacking us. She also said she saw the silhouettes of the Witches 5 in her dream, too,” Neo-Queen Serenity explained, sitting on the bed next to her daughter.
“The Witches 5?! But I thought they were defeated! Are you saying that they came back, like how Nehelenia did?” Chibi-Usa wondered aloud. No, it wasn’t like with Nehelenia, she hadn’t been killed, only sealed into that mirror.
“I’m just saying what Rei told me, I don’t really know what it means,” Serenity sighed, “It probably means that we’ll have to fight, though.”
“Remember your dream too, Chibi-Usa. It tells where you need to go.” Chibi-Usa and Serenity were startled, unsure of where that new voice was coming from. Suddenly there was a flash of multi-colored light in the middle of the floor. This light quickly solidified, and when it faded, there was a cute little rabbit with iridescent fur looking up at the surprised mother-daughter pair.
“Remember my dream?” Chibi-Usa repeated, “My dream was about eating lots of sweets, but I dream about that a lot. Why is that special?”
“Because it’s important! The Sugar Senshi need to be awakened, and they are not here in Japan!” the rabbit declared.
“Who are the Sugar Senshi? And who are you?” she asked. A memory of herself as Princess Serenity, petting a rabbit much like the one she was talking to, surfaced in her mind. It was vague, though, and she shook it off.
“I am Stella, the advisor of the Sugar Senshi. They were Senshi in the Silver Millennium, just like you, only they guarded the kitchen areas, the place where life-sustaining and delicious food was created,” the rabbit explained.
“There were Senshi who guarded the kitchen? Does that mean the Death Busters are going to come back and steal everyone’s food and cause a famine?” Serenity blurted out, trying to combine this new information with what Rei had said about the Witches 5.
“I don’t know. I mean, I can’t tell what’s going to happen in the future, all I know is that the Sugar Senshi need to be awakened and they’re in America,” Stella sighed. Serenity yelped in fright upon hearing the last part.
“In America?! But I don’t know how to speak English!” she wailed.
“Don’t worry, Mama, Ami can probably help teach you. She’s been teaching me English, since a princess has to know other languages,” Chibi-Usa said confidently. Serenity pouted, she liked the idea of “Sugar Senshi” since she liked to eat sweets, but she didn’t want to go to a country where she didn’t understand the language. She had enough trouble remembering kanji in her own language!
“You two better call the other Sailor Senshi, so we can plan for this,” Stella ordered. Serenity scowled at being bossed around when she wanted to go back to bed, but she figured the other Senshi needed to know, if they didn’t already.
Later that morning, the other Sailor Senshi, including Rei, all came to the Crystal Palace for their meeting. Serenity and Chibi-Usa explained what had happened earlier, and introduced Stella to everyone, including Luna, Artemis and Diana.
“So this means we have to go to America to awaken the new Senshi?” Minako asked for clarification. She smiled at Serenity. “Don’t worry, I’ll help you learn English. I’ve been to England before, remember?”
“We should start making plans for our trip, and soon. I have a feeling that if we don’t leave soon, something terrible will happen to the Silver Crystal,” Rei said. In response to her statement, a loud crash came from the throne room, where the Silver Crystal was kept, along with Serenity’s old Disguise Pen and Eternal Brooch. The Senshi split up, Serenity, Endymion, Mercury, Jupiter, Mars and Venus heading for the throne room, while the others stayed where they were in case the crash was just a distraction. When the 6 of them arrived, they found 5 young women there who had knocked the Silver Crystal off its stand. Luckily, it wasn’t damaged, though.
“Stop that! The Silver Crystal is important!” Serenity shouted. Beside her, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter and Venus were getting ready to attack, and Endymion pulled Serenity close to his body to protect her.
“We know it’s important,” snapped one of the women. She had blond hair in an elaborate style and she was dressed very much like Cyprine of the Witches 5. The 5 women quickly aimed their staffs at the Silver Crystal and 5 colored beams blasted it into 7 pieces, the Rainbow Crystals. The 7 Rainbow Crystals suddenly flew into the air and then disappeared, streaking off into the distance. The four Sailor Senshi all began to attack, but it was fruitless, as the 5 mysterious women disappeared as well. Sailor Mercury quickly flipped open her supercomputer, searching for where the Rainbow Crystals had disappeared to.
“What’s going to happen now? Are we going to fight the Seven Great Youma again?” Sailor Mars asked, staring in shock at the empty place where the Silver Crystal had sat a few minutes ago.
“Probably not. According to my computer, the Rainbow Crystals have entered the bodies of 7 Sailor Senshi. Unfortunately, I am not able to find who has them exactly, nor how to remove the Crystals from their bodies without harming them. But I do know that Sailor Senshi hold them, this time,” Ami explained, looking up from her computer.
“Are they inside the bodies of the Sugar Senshi?” Venus asked, “Do you think they went to America?”
“We’ll find out soon enough since we need to go there anyway,” Makoto shrugged, detransforming since the threat was gone, for the moment. The others did so as well, and they went back to find the others to explain what had just happened.
Within a week, everyone, including King Endymion, Neo-Queen Serenity and Chibi-Usa, was at Crystal Tokyo International Airport, ready to board their flight to America.
“I still don’t know if I can speak English,” Serenity worried, “I mean, I know some words and things, but I keep forgetting.” Makoto was also nervous, although in her case, she was terrified of riding on an airplane. There was a part of her that feared they would die, not only in a crash, but possibly at the hands of an enemy. Certainly, she remembered that Galaxia had had no qualms about attacking Tuxedo Mask on the airplane when he tried to go to America over a thousand years ago.
“I told you, Usagi,” Minako teased, using the Queen’s old childhood name, “I’ll help you. We all will. Remember, I went to England once, and I did okay.” Serenity was about to protest, but she smiled at Minako instead.
“Thank you, everyone, I’m so glad I have friends like you,” she sighed in relief. Then it was time for them to board their plane, and the group did so. Makoto grabbed Endymion’s hand as she stepped into the metal flying craft, finding comfort in someone else who had bad memories of airplanes. Serenity, luckily, wasn’t jealous, she knew Makoto shared this in common with her husband. Soon the plane lifted off into the sky, taking the crew of Sailor Senshi and Moon royalty to a country none of them had visited before--America.
