A/N So this is the chapter where Hillary is the attacker of Rei. Next is Max. Mwahahaha. And there was originally Russian in this chapter. But then I figured random Russian might be as annoying as random Japanese.
“Kai, I love you too… But you are so cold and aloof, and you think I’m annoying!”
“That might have been true…but I’ve changed everything about myself, all for you.”
“Oh Kai, let’s make a Kai junior!” Hillary exclaimed, brown eyes shining.
“Let’s…”
“Wake the fuck up!” a foot smashed into her side, hard.
Hillary sat up, groaning. Everything was blurry. She rubbed her eyes. She was in Kai’s room. On the floor. Her legs were sprawled in front of her. She hastily clamped them together. Given the fact that Kai and Rei were a bunch of fags, they probably weren’t admiring the view. In fact, they looked downright pissed. Kai’s eyes were narrowed and his mouth was pinched. Rei sat on the bed, his hands holding his throat. She couldn’t see his face, because he was looking at his lap and wheezing. Kai glanced his way.
“Are you going to be okay, Rei?” he asked gently.
Rei nodded. Kai turned his gaze back to Hillary. She shrank under his withering glare.
“And as for you… you sick, malicious bitch. The police will be here soon. You better not give them--or us--any trouble.” He said.
Hillary began thinking about doing just that. She restrained herself from grinning viciously and whined:
“But Kai, I’ve got to go to the bathroom.”
He glared at her. “No.”
“Can I at least sit in a chair is so hard!” she went on.
“Do you ever shut up? All right.” He stepped away from her.
She stood up slowly, stretching her legs, and walked over to the chair by the dresser. And dived through the open, screenless window. She hit the ground hard, and got the wind knocked out of her. Kai was yelling in the room behind her. She stood up and began running down the street. A cop car pulled up outside the house. She had gotten out just in time. But where could she go now? The police would be looking for her at her house. Tyson, Max, and Kenny wouldn’t hide her. Frantic thoughts and half-formed plans flew through her mind as she ran on.
Where would she be safe? As she rounded Pine Street, one name flashed through her mind. Bryan Kuznetsov. He’d understand her attacking Rei. There was an arrow of violence pointing at Rei that no one with that special kind of thinking could ignore. Really, it hadn’t been her fault!
On Orange Street she ran by the Russians’ pleasant little brick bungalow before she recognized it. She backpedaled rapidly onto the sidewalk in front of it. Now she experienced doubt. The porchlight was on, and a TV’s blue light filtered through the shades. Everyone was probably asleep. And most of the Blitzkrieg Boys were just as scary as Kai. Well there was no one else she could turn to. She walked to the front door.
Hillary knocked. Then she waited nervously. No one answered. She raised her hand to knock again, and the door swung open.
“Hello?” Tala said, rubbing his eyes.
Hillary stared. The redhead was in his boxers. Which were black silk and had “Easy like Sunday morning” written in lurid red letters across the front.
“Hillary? What are you doing here?” he asked.
She started crying. “Well I didn’t know who else to turn to and ”
“Alright come in.” he said, looking exasperated.
The door opened into the living room. A comfy looking black leather couch sat across from a large TV sitting on the floor. A Yu-gi-oh rerun played on the screen.
“Sit down. I’ll be back in a minute-clothed.”
Tala stalked off down the hallway. Hillary sat down on the couch. Marik, Yugi, Kaiba, and Joey were in a 4-way duel. Marik shrunk Joey’s Gearfreid the Iron Knight. Tala came back into the room in jeans and a clean white T-shirt. He sat down across from her.
“Sorry about that. I wasn’t expecting anyone. So what’s happening with you?”
Hillary slowly drew in a deep breath. “This is embarrassing, but I kind of attacked Rei earlier.”
Tala looked interested. “How?”
“Uh well first I cut off his braid. Then I kind of…wrapped it around his neck and strangled him with it.”
Tala, who’d been nodding approvingly, looked at her, startled.
“He’s dead?!”
“No! Kai punched me before I could finish.”
“Oh. That explains the shiner.” Tala settled back down.
“I understand why you did it. I feel the same violent urges around Rei. Luckily, I don’t see him often. But what do you think I can do for you?’
Hillary put on her cutest smile. “I thought I could hide here.”
Tala stared at her, thinking. “I don’t see why not, if Bryan approves. But if they find you, I had no idea you attacked Rei. We’ll tell ‘em you came here because you’re dating Ian.”
Hillary mimed gagging. Tala grinned.
“Well he does like you…”
