Ok this chapter is kinda a filler, sorry for the shortness my new job is killing me. Anyway someone PM'd me asking why I put song lyrics in my title things and the answer to that is, i don't really have a reason i just write apart of the song i think relates to the chapter. Earth to Bella is from Incubus so listen to it if you want to know how it relates lol

ONWARD NOW!

Chapter 3

A Memory Called Hope

Earth To Bella

Normal POV

“Daddy, where are we going?”

Taking a glance in his rear view mirror, he saw his daughter touching her reflection in the window. Her sallow green fur and emerald eyes emulating in the sun. A shear mix of both Amy and himself.

“We’re going home.”

“Oh… I miss Mommy.”

He gripped the steering wheel tighter and rung it slightly, a frown cascading down his features and his shallow breathing becoming more prominent. Hope was just as much his as she was Amy’s, but why did the child seem to have more of an emotional bond with her mother?

“Hope, your mother is very hurt and you need to help her by being strong… Ok?”

“Yes, daddy…”

An evil grin grew on his muzzle. He knew exactly what he had to do, and Amy was going to pay from ever even thinking about leaving him. How trivial, had she not known that he would eventually find her? No matter, he had the one thing that would bring Amy to her knees, and with no one there to support her, he’d take his final blow. He would never hurt his own flesh and blood, his only weakness. He cared for Hope to much, although he would never admit it. He never intended for Hope to see any of the ‘sessions’ him and Amy shared, it just sort of happened, and that’s what he loved about Hope. She was ever forgiving; in her eyes he could do no wrong. And whilst Hope is here with him he might as well toy with her mind a bit, after all, it’s not as if the Sonic Team are still together anymore.

“Amy, darling. You’re in for a world of hurt.”

He chuckled maliciously, as he made his way down a country road surrounded by knee high grass and dense forests. Hope awed, truly a magnificent sight except for the eyesore that loomed at the mouth of the forest. Almost invisible with shrubbery, but definitely noticeable. A small shack, half put together, stood out from the greenery. Its loose shackles and shutters made Hope grimace and point abruptly.

“Daddy? Why put something so ugly, in a place so pretty?”

“Because Hope, if your mommy knew where you were she’d try and take you away from me. And she’s not well and needs to rest so if we make it a game-”

Hope clapped her hands together and smiled broadly, “Oh! Like hide and seek?”

He laughed as he helped her out of the SUV, her doll tucked firmly in between her elbow; this was going to be easier than he thought.

“Exactly, like hide and seek.”

Back With Amy

A bandaged figure tossed mercilessly in her sleep, moaning in agony and fear. Sweat seeped through her bandages as she clawed at her sheets as his name echoed through out the hospital room.

Scourge…”

A black stature stood at her window watching in disbelief, hands gripped into fists at his name, approaching her bedside he slowly stroked her bruised features with the back of his gloved hand. Her bandages were almost transparent with sweat and through her nightmarish struggle many had come loose. He peeled one back from her forehead and blood gushed from her inch sized wound just above her eye, her beautiful emerald eyes. He placed a finger on it softly, applying pressure as the blood seeped into his glove. Her eyes clenched as the pain shot through her head seeing this he quickly began to make his leave but before he could turn from her bedside, he felt a touch, light as a feather grace his forearm.

“Doctor?”

Her voice was hoarse and full of anguish; he could feel her eyes on him as she gave him a slight squeeze. He dare not look at her, for to do so he would surely be entranced in her spell once again.

“I am no one.”

She grasped him tighter and began pulling his body toward her, desperately he averted his eyes as his whole body came to face her, the dim light of the heart monitor glowing green on his glove. He gasped as she took his hand and slowly started to deglove it. His first urge was to run, run as far away from this place as possible. He should never have come here. But he still remained, her touch was so gentle, so inviting. He hadn’t been this close to Amy since they were merely children. Ever since then he has had this irrepressible feeling towards her. A feeling of responsibility, of nurturing, love… lust.

She had removed his glove completely and placed it on the edge of the bed, the warmth of her fingers seeped into his dull calloused hands sending a wave of some emotion he could not quite capture.

“Your hands… Are so, cold.” She whispered.

“They always have been.”

She held my hand up to the ray of light that poured into her room from the shutters. Gasping she dropped my hand, as she saw my true colours. Turning to face her, her emerald eyes said all they needed to say. Grasping her hand in mine, I took my seat next to her bedside… entranced.

So we know who the father is now but who is the mysterious figure that appeared in Amy's room? We would love to hear your guesses! So don't forget to review, go on push the little square button on the left.
