Chapter 1

Voiceover

There were 7 billion people on the planet when the third infection of Britain occurred. It was devastating it made the last two look like walks in the park. My name is Doctor Andy Harris. I was a survivor of the second one that claimed the lives of my parents, I will never forget those horrific days, I still have nightmares about it. My story starts off in a military base in the United States, I was 12, and my sister Tammy was 17. Scientists from all around the world gathered and produced a cure for the virus using my own rage immune blood. The cure was sprayed in all areas. The infected reverted back to their normal selves kept under close supervision for 48 hours to a week to make sure they were completely cured. They cured me too of being a carrier, I was safe.

To make sure the Rage virus didn’t make another comeback, the United Nations got together and devised a plan to make all 6 billion people and future generations on the planet immune. The sprayed a cure over all areas that made people immune to the virus, tough challenge. The Rage Virus was wiped out forever, something I thought I was never going to happen. Eventually I returned to England with my sister and other survivors, The UK was repopulated again, it prospered again. I went to university where I met my wife; Hannah, she was a survivor too, she also lost her parents in the first outbreak, her guardians this cool guy his name was Jim and this woman Selena she had this machete put on the wall of their house like a trophy laughs she was a woman to be reckoned with.

I went to university studied Bioengineering and Chemistry; science has always fascinated me even as a kid, I put the periodic table of elements on my door in my room when I was 8. My sister, she went to Law school and became a lawyer met her husband doing so, an Italian studying abroad, Antonio Gattusso, they married a few years later and had two children, Zoë and Vittorio beautiful children, my niece and nephew laughs.

I married Hannah when I was 24, a year later our daughter Alice who I named after my mother was born. I became the Dean of Medicine at 26 something only a few has ever accomplished. Hannah was a stockbroker, we made enough to live in our own house, and have a least two cars at the door.

London, England

2021

An SUV pulls up on a townhouse in a borough of London, Doctor Andy Harris, a 30 year old man, tall, he has a black leather jacket on. He opens the door to his house, his wife Hannah has their five year old daughter; Alice all packed up. Their 5 month old Dalmatian puppy; Ares is in his cage. Andy is tall, 6 feet in height, weighs a good 195 pounds, dyed black hair, and heterochromia eyes, his left eye is green while his right is brown.

“Hannah, let’s go honey there isn’t much time” he said

“Coming, just getting a few things” she called

Hannah Harris is 2 years older than her husband, her hair is blond as his was before he dyed it black. Their daughter Alice Harris is the spitting image of her mother, with her father’s heterochromia eyes; her left eye is green while her right is brown. She looks very scared.

“Daddy” she cried, Andy picks up his daughter

“It’s alright, sweetheart” he said with soothing words

"Let's go, we only have 20 minutes" he said

"20 minutes? For what?" asked Hannah as they pile into their SUV.

"Is it the virus?" she asked fearfully

"It's out of control, the prime minister has ordered that England be sealed off from mainland Europe" he said

"What about you? Aren't you coming?" she asked

"I can't, I have to stay, I have to fix this" he said

The three of them drive to Central London, where a mass of people are evacuating with US and British soldiers leading the evacuation. Andy has a helicopter ready for his family to be evacuated to France, where they'll go with Tammy to Italy.

“I’m not infected” said one of the people

“Madame, you need to step back” said one soldier

Andy loads his family into the helicopter, he kisses his wife goodbye and his daughter too, and she leaves Aries with her father. Hannah mouths I love you to her husband.

"Don't worry, honey, Daddy is going to make the monsters go away!" he called out to his daughter

“I love you too” he said

Fighter jet blow out the bridges as people scream and ducks as the debris falls into the Thames river, Andy looks solemnly at the wreckage with his Dalmatian puppy Ares whimpering in his cage. The Fighter jet blow out the last remaining bridges and tunnels seeling in the populace to their fate.

Voiceover: The French military destroyed the chunnel just to be safe this time completely isolating Britain from Mainland Europe.

3 years later

Sunlight spills into Andy's room where the good doctor is asleep in his bed, Ares all grown up licks his master’s face. He groans as he pushes his dog away. He sees his clock on the table next to his bed and it reads 8:24 am. He throws off his white sheets.

“Morning, Ares how did you sleep?” he asked groggily he takes the Desert Eagle next to his face and puts in the drawer. Andy gets in the kitchen and starts breakfast, bacon and eggs for him and dog chow for Ares.

“Eat up, Ares” he said

Ares eats up his dog chow as Andy walks into the living, he runs on the treadmill for his daily routine of exercise. He then does 20 push-ups and sit-ups. After an hour of exercise both dog and master take a walk outside in the desolate London, streets, Cars lays empty, lamps out are on top of some cars. Andy has a modified M4 around strapped to his shoulder.

“Time to go to work, Aries” he said to his dog, Ares barks in agreement. He barks as they get into his Lamborghini, they drive off into the city. Andy looks ahead to the road with determination.
