Full Summary: He abandoned her on earth when she was eleven years old. Her father abandoned her when she was three years old. When he found her in the alleys of Neonopolis, he knew that she was just a helpless human child, and knew she wouldn't last on her own. He took her in and taught her how to fight and hunt. She first went out by herself to hunt on her own when she was ten years old. He was proud of her for accomplishing the task and dominating her own kind at her age, and bringing him a marvelous trophy. However when she was sent out on her own again to hunt, she never found him when she headed home. He abandoned her at eleven years old...or so she thought.

This is my very first AVP fanfic so I don't expect everything to be absolutely accurate. I've thrown in details and ideas from both Predator movies, AVP, and the Predator : Concrete Jungle video game. I've also added in my own ideas so that might explain things if some of it doesn't make sense. I'd love some reviews to see how this went and whether or not I should continue:) Thanks in advance to anyone who reads.

And just to be safe, it's rated M for lots of detailed gore scenes and violence, cursing, and anything else that would cause it to be rated M. Translations are at the bottom of the page.

One: When We Start Killing

6:37 AM, Monday, 2034

Major's Log, Cassie Rolanderin, #253: It's Monday again. I fucking hate Mondays. Especially this one. Get up. Brush my teeth. Take a shower. Fix my hair, (provided I don't get my hair tangled with the beads again). Put on my net outfit, my armor, everything. I have to make sure I look just right or my officers and supervisors will complain for this day. To them, it's special. Because once again, I succeeded in capturing another Yautja, which is pronounced "Yaught-Ja", as many times as the scientists have corrected me. I've noticed that it rhymes with "Caught ya", very fitting, yes? I only just learned their species name a few or more years ago, and they've been quite a nuisance to us since. Them and their little pet-friends. I'm not quite sure which one of these are more dangerous. The Yautja are much like us humans...except they're...seven feet tall and weigh up to 350 lbs. The Xenomorphs are stubborn, in some ways, they have acid for blood and an retractable extra mouth inside the main one. I think that the Xenomorphs are an even bigger nuisance because they produce like popcorn in the microwave, they grow incredibly fast, and are somewhat harder to kill. We've detected a nest underneath our base and are losing men by the handful, but the citizens of Neonopolis needn't know or care, because there's enough blood on the streets as it is. The Serviteurs and Dead Men are at it again with their street violence...and cannot keep their boundaries under control. Maintaining both of these problems are starting to give me a headache. Though...we cannot let the Xenos get out on the streets, because if they do, everything everywhere could die.

It's been on my mind a lot...and out of all the Yautjas and Xenos we've caught...why hasn't he shown up yet? I've seen several Yautjas with the same marking on their helmets...but none like his. His has an odd sentence written on his helmet. I've never been able to read it...let alone translate it, because I haven't seen him in years. I know the language better than any other human on earth now, let alone more about the whole race of Xenos and Yautjas. Heh, listen to me. I sound like I'm complimenting him. Just because he is of the Dark Blade clan doesn't mean he's a perfect son-of-a-bitch. He certainly acted like one. Though while teaching me, I almost completely forgot the human language and nearly spoke their language entirely. I have to thank him for teaching me these things...because if he did not...then we would never have been so close to a victory over them than before.

And I will be the one to run my glaive through him.

End Major's Log, Cassie Rolanderin, #253.

Cassie closed her notebook and tossed it underneath her bed, finishing up her outfit and making sure her hair was in place. She brushed back her bangs and wrapped a metal headband around her forehead to cover it. Just looking at the scar on her forehead made her remember all about her past, and all she wanted to do for now was forget that and get the day over with. She soon heard a knocking on her door and glanced at it before turning back to putting her wrist armor on.

"It's the Captain, Major." She heard one of her officers say.

"Come in." She said.

"Major, we have five minutes. Lieutenant General Hawks is becoming agitated so if you'd like my advice I suggest we hurry the pace." He said.

Cassie glanced up at him and looked at him oddly but then looked back down. "S'yuitde Ooman." She muttered under her breath.

The Captain tilted his head. "...Major?"

Cassie held her right forearm up and then looked at her wrist armor for a minute.

The Captain made a face, confused now. "...Major? Is something wrong?" He asked.

In that split second, her wrist-blades shot out of her wrist armor, about two feet above her head. The Captain jumped back, startled and holding his gun to his chest. Cassie then retracted them again and turned to him. "Captain Malek, I didn't ask you for your advice. And as far as Lieutenant General Hawks thinks, he can wait for all I care. He isn't the boss of me." She spat, walking past him.

"But...Major! In general terms I believe he--"

"I know he is five ranks above me, you don't need to remind me of that, Captain. If you can get to him before I do, tell him that I will be there in two minutes. Understood? Two minutes!" Cassie said.

Captain Malek nodded hastily and took off running ahead of her. "Yes ma'am!"

Cassie continued walking her normal pace, curious to see if the boy could reach her commanding officer in time. She shook her head and passed the other officers along the way, who'd been eyeing her strangely. She wondered if it had something to do with her cursing the Lieutenant General or if it had to do with their experiments on the aliens that she'd ordered for. She began to get agitated at this; if there's one thing she hated after waking up at six in the morning, it was having other people staring at her as if she was a zombie...even if she felt like one.

She passed some more scientists and docters who'd been staring at her walking their way, and she stopped beside them and stared back, eye twitching. "Ki'cte pyode amedha! Get back to work and stop staring at me like I'm an alien!" She shouted and the scientists took off running. "Ridiculous." She muttered.

Cassie arrived outside the base and stepped out onto a balcony, but didn't dare come out from behind the corner before making her speech. She stopped behind the wall and waited for Lieutenant General Hawks to come around and greet her. She tapped her foot impatiently until he came around and greeted her with a salute, which she did not respond to.

"I'm impressed. You kept your word." He said.

"Do not push me, Hawks. I'm not in the greatest of moods today. Now, can we get this over with?" Cassie said.

"Yes, of course. All you have to do is present the creature to the crowd and then make your speech. After that...I'll discuss that with you." He said.

She nodded and called over her officers, who came up behind her.

"--And now, to give you our presentation, I give to you, our hero and princess, Major Cassandra Rolanderin!" One of the officers said into the microphone as a loud eruption of cheers and applaud came from the crowd below them.

The officer walked up to Cassie and nodded. "Your turn, Major." He said.

Cassie sighed. "I am not a princess and no one calls me 'Cassandra', Lieutenant." She said, walking past him and patting his shoulder. "Don't make these people think I'm a goddess." She said.

She walked out with her officers behind her and stepped up to the podium, with the crowd of the city still applauding her. She patiently waited for them to stop their screaming and whistling, and just smiled down on them. They soon began to quiet down, though there were still a few that let out random yells and whistles at her again.

"People of Neonopolis. It has been three years since a Yautja attacked our city, and it was also when MOTHER was killed and replaced with her granddaughter, Lucretia. In those three years we have captured and killed many Xenomorphs and Yautjas. And yesterday, once again, we have captured yet another murderer hiding on the rooftops of our city." Cassie said, turning around as they brought out a heavily injured Yautja completely trapped in chains and cuffs.

It's radioactive green blood was dripping on the ground, it's hair had been cut shorter, the mask was nowhere to be found but there were cut marks across its face, it's arm had been surgically altered and it was now part mechanical. It looked as if it was near death, but it was still holding on to its last strings of life.

Cassie walked up to it and stared into its sharp green eyes. It lightly purred except it had a slight gurgle in it, with its blood flooding in its throat. It blinked at her bright green eyes and then noticed who it was, and suddenly let out a fierce roar into her face and she jumped up. The more it tried moving, the more its blood spilt, and it soon became weak and backed down.

Cassie shook her head and leaned in again so she could look it in the eye, and made eye contact. "M-di H'chak." She said as it focused more on her eyes. "S'yuitde." She spat. The Yautja just lowered its head, refusing to rush its death. "And here we considered you beings as the superior ones, you were merely conquered by us humans." She whispered before walking back to the podium with the crowd cheering the word 'death' to the monster.

"Luckily we were able to capture him before he did anymore damage to our city. He will be brainwashed and tested and turned into one of our own; a slave." She spoke, with a little bit of malice in her voice.

Suddenly the Lieutenant came up behind her and whispered into her ear. "Um...Major...what about the citizens' questions? I think we'd all like to know why you've developed such a crude hatred for them and yet you..." He paused for a minute and examined her outfit, which was an exact copy of the Yautja's armor. "...you dress just like them." He said.

Cassie looked at him oddly but then raised an eyebrow like a 'what the fuck?' look, but turned back to the crowd and smiled and let out a chuckle. "Well then." She said. "As you wish." She said before raising her chin high.

"Many of you have once asked me why I am so cruel to these creatures...and yet why I dress like them. I'll tell you..." She said, placing her elbows on the podium. "...One of these things...got into some personal matters of mine. I will not say what but it was bad enough that scarred my mental state." She said. "But you people already know that. The real reason is...I admire these creatures." She said, as silence suddenly came. A few murmurs came into hearing range and she shook her head. "I don't admire them for what they do...but for what they are." She said, then looking down at her outfit. "...And for their fashion." She then stuck her tongue out at the Lieutenant.

"Understandable." He said, rolling his eyes.

Cassie then turned back to the crowd. "I also have to thank them..." She then heard more murmurs coming around. "...I have to thank them...for bringing us this technoligy, and giving us the ability to kick their asses!" She said, punching a fist into the air, followed by the crowd cheering again.

Cassie then turned around and faced the Lieutenant with a rather agitated look. "I am done. Now get me out of here." She said. He nodded quickly and gestured for her to move forward.

The Lieutenant stepped forward and finished the speech for her as she stopped in front of the Yautja and looked him in the eye again. "You only brought this upon yourself." She said before walking off, but stopping again once she heard it make that purring noise. No matter how much she hated this species, she always loved that purring sound. No matter how much she loved torturing them, that purring noise was so soothing.

Always. Ever since she was four years old. She would always love that sound.

"Cassie...Cassie! CASSIE!!!"

"AH! What is it?! Who's there?!" Cassie rolled out of bed, quickly picking up her knife from under her pillow.

"Cassie, it's Sergeant Corris." A man said through the intercom on her table beside her.

Startled, Cassie rubbed her eye groggily and jumped back on her bed, keeping her knife ready, just in case. "What is it, Sergeant?" She said, still rubbing her eye.

"I've got some...uh...weird news." He said.

Cassie stopped rubbing her eye and looked up. "...What is it?" She asked, hoping that the Yautja didn't get loose...or even worse, have one of the Xenos get loose.

"The Yautja...it..." He stammered, not able to finish.

"What is it, dammit!?" She demanded, standing up and ready to shoot out her door.

"It can speak english! And it mentioned your name...you should get down here!" He said.

"Pauk!" Cassie said, putting on her slippers and running down the hall.

She arrived in the Containment level and ran into the room where they were keeping the Yautja. She put her palms on her elbows and hugged herself, cold. She slowly walked in and found the scientists surrounding the creature, its hands trapped in a ball of electricity and its limbs were cuffed to a large pole. Cassie sudden felt angry and stomped forward beside the Sergeant.

"What the hell is going on?" She demanded, not hesitating to run directly to the creature. "What did you say, you monster..." She growled.

"Umm...Major!" A doctor called out. Cassie turned to him with aggression in her eyes. The doctor looked down at one of the computers and gestured for her to come over.

She got up and walked over to look at the computer, but saw nothing important on it. She shook her head and looked up at him, confused. "What? What is it?" She asked hastily.

"Listen." He said, pressing a button which triggered a recording to play.

"Hold still, monster!" A crackly shout came through the speakers. After that they heard a loud roar come out, a scattered sound from all the commotion going on when it was recorded.

"Get the anesthetic! Someone put it to sleep or something!" Another shouted.

Suddenly a grumble came from behind all the hustle, and it slowly became silent. "What'd it say?" Someone said. It was finally silent and then another grumble came out. "Make sense, demon." The same person said. Silence came once more until another gurgle came out and finally Cassie could understand what it said.

"Thwei s'yuit-de." Cassie's eyes narrowed in concern at its comment.

"What the hell does that mean?"

"Only Cassie knows how to speak that language. What should we do?"

"I think we should ask her what it meant..."

Cassie was biting her thumbnail now, unable to find words for its saying. She blinked nervously, but listened eagerly.

"Wait, it's talking again!" Someone said.

"--What?"

Cassie leaned it to try and hear it more. "Cassie..." She heard the monster gurgle. "...Little Knife...thwei s'yuit-de! Cassie thwei s'yuit-de!" It roared. Cassie jumped back and slammed her finger onto the 'Pause' button. The others looked at her strangely, and she looked up at the Yautja, lost for words.

"What the hell does this thing know about me...I'm not of their blood kind, so why is it calling me that?" She thought angrily, glancing down at the button that was to electrocute whomever was locked inside the shackles that were wrapped around its arms and legs.

The creature looked up at Cassie and glared deeply at her, as she saw its mouth twitch and it began to growl. "Payas Leitjin-de!" It roared, making the others jump back.

Cassie didn't hesitate; she punched violently onto the 'Execute' button as it let out a wave of electricity that shocked the monster. It let out wails and roars of pain, struggling to get free from its shackles. Cassie breathed heavily as if she had no oxygen, but she didn't move nor did she take her eyes off of the demon. She pressed the button again and again, until one of the doctors quickly removed her hand from the panel.

"Major! You're going to kill it!" She said, putting her hands on Cassie's shoulders.

"We have plenty more of these things. We can at least kill this one!" She snapped.

"There are different races! This one has different markings and fighting skills from the others, you should know that!" She demanded.

"Thwei s'yuit-de! Thwei s'yuit-de!" It roared again.

Cassie became frustrated and slammed her finger onto the 'Execute' button once more, delivering another painful electric shock to the Yautja. It didn't kill the creature, however. Cassie was still angry and removed the doctor from herself and stomped over to the creature. She gripped its thick neck and dug her nails into it and pulled it up so she was looking down into its eyes.

"What do you know about me, you hellspawn. How do you know my name, hulij-bpe pyode amedha?!" Cassie shouted.

The monster blinked weakly and let out a gurgled sigh, as it looked into her eyes mercifully. "Hulij-bpe Ooman." It said. "Core." It said, but stopped once it saw Cassie's expression. It chuckled with that choking sound to it. It was obviously on its last limbs. "Core, Little Knife, alive." It said. Cassie shook her head and released her grip on its neck. "Father." It said, before collapsing completely, losing its life.

Cassie stood there, stiff, head drooping down and staring at its lifeless body. She shook her head and quickly turned around, making her way out.

"Major! What--"

"I'm going back to sleep. No disturbances, pyode amedha!" She shouted before running out of the room and back into her own.

"Well. What do we do with this thing?" One of them asked, all of them staring at the dead Yautja.

Cassie collapsed onto her bed and pulled out her journal, ready to write again. Though she couldn't after what she'd just seen and heard. She stared at the ceiling and let out a shaky and heavy sigh.

"What the hell...how did that thing know my name...and...his name? Jeez. All this shit in one day." She pulled on her hair.

She rolled around in her bed, trying to shut her eyes and sleep. She tossed her journal back underneath her bed and pulled up the covers. Still, she couldn't keep her eyes shut.

"Dammit, paranoia." She growled, pulling out a small recorder. She stared at it as her eyes softened and gently ran a finger over it and then blinked softly. She then pressed a button on it and then sat it on her night-stand, letting the sounds from it play into her ear.

Always. Ever since she was four years old. She would always love that sound. That gentle purring that lulled her to sleep every night.
