Three: Found

"Strike hard and true...Little Knife."

"Wha?"

"Move fast and quiet..."

"What the fuck? Who is that?" Cassie jumped up, halfway asleep.

She looked up and saw Max brushing his hair and buttoning his shirt up. "Oh, you're awake. You slept half the day." He laughed.

"What?" She gasped, turning and looking at her clock. "Damn it...Hawks is going to kill me..." She muttered, jumping up angrily and ruffling her hair.

"Well, I enjoyed watching you sleep, but I gotta get to work." He said, grabbing a toothbrush and a duffel-bag.

"Sleep? What?" She looked at him, getting up.

He began chuckling again. "You kinda passed out earlier, babe. Either you had something to drink at the restaurant or you were really tired and it was a bad idea for me to take you out so early." He said.

Cassie shook her head. "Wait. I passed out? What the hell is wrong with me?" She put both hands on her forehead. "What did I drink earlier?" She asked.

Max turned around and made a face. "Not sure. All I can say is that you really got knocked out once we got here." He said.

Cassie rolled her eyes and dropped her arms. "Great. I'm sorry." She said, shaking her head.

"Hey, hey. Don't worry about it." He said, kissing her forehead. "I'll be around later, hopefully. Not sure how late I gotta work." He said, putting on a jacket.

"OK. Just be careful. I'll see you 'round." Cassie said.

"Sure. And take it easy, OK? You've been a little tense ever since that...thing died." He said, heading out the door.

Cassie just nodded and then turned to sit down on her bed again, letting out a sigh. "You would be too if you knew more about them." She said, scratching her neck.

Cassie looked down at the recorder that she had knocked off her night-stand, and stared at it for a minute. She wondered if she should even pick it up or not, but she did so anyway and held it in her hands for a little while, staring at it. She pressed the "Play" button again and put the recorder to her ear, closing her eyes and tilting her head; enjoying the sound. Suddenly, a loud static shriek came out and someone shouting came through the intercom, spooking Cassie and causing her to leap to her feet directly onto her bed.

"What the hell?!" She exclaimed, drawing out her knife again.

"Cassandra! Cassandra!" Came Captain Malek's voice, sounding a bit worried.

Cassie stared at the intercom angrily and tilted her head, making a malicious expression (one that is very similar to Yautjas cocking their heads to one side, suggesting curiosity or regard). Cassie shook her head and threw her knife into the wall.

"Captain..." Cassie barked angrily, leaping off her bed. "What the hell is it!? And how many times have I told you not to call me and scream through the intercom!?" She stomped her foot.

"I-I'm sorry, ma'am, but we have a really big problem, here!" He said.

Cassie turned her head slowly to the intercom, still hoping that one of the Xenos didn't slip past the guards again. "What is it?" She asked.

"Our satellite has discovered an alien ship heading towards Earth! It looks like a Yautja ship!" He exlaimed, making a whining noise.

Cassie's eyes grew wide and she crashed into her closet, quickly getting dressed, not in her armor; because it would take to long to put it on. "Oh, God...please don't let it be the Elder...pleeeaaase, don't let it be the Elder!" She thought, worriedly. "C'jit, PAUK!" Cassie yelped again, stampeding out of her room.

"Cassie? Cassie! Aw hell..."

Cassie arrived in the control room two floors below her room, and rushed towards Lieutenant General Hawks. Cassie wasn't dressed properly to enter in this particular room but at the moment, this wasn't a time to worry about how she dressed.

"Hawks! What the hell is going on!? What did the satellite pick up?" Cassie exclaimed, hugging herself again because it was still too cold inside this white-metal room.

He kept staring at the large screen above them all, but did answer her question. "This thing." He said, pointing at the large foreign spaceship.

Cassie slowly approached the screen, staring in complete and utter awe at what she was seeing. Actually, she hadn't seen it in twelve years; when she was introduced to the Elder as the first human female hunter among their clan. He wasn't too happy about it, but was pleased that she was an excellent hunter at such an age in human years. He also wasn't too happy about having a young female human being a part of their race...and she wasn't too happy about seeing the same ship that she saw twelve years ago.

"Fuck...pauk...shit..." She muttered repeatedly.

"Major?"

"What?!" She yelped.

"...What should we do? What the hell are they doing coming near our planet?!" Lieutenant Cross asked.

Cassie couldn't quite speak, but she barely shook her head as a reply to his question.

"What? What's that mean?!" The Lieutenant asked, vivaciously shaking his head, trying to mimick Cassie's reaction (except he was too hyped up).

"I don't know, dammit! I don't know what to do!" She turned to him, shaking her head again. She then paused completely, staring into space, wondering what she should do. One of them yelled something at her but she ignored it. What would happen if the Elder saw her progress? Is he coming after her himself or is he sending a large army back to earth to hunt the Xenos again, and to possibly do away with her because of all the things she'd done to their kind, after being raised by one?

What would she do? Maybe if they were coming back to earth, then her so called "Father" would be with them too. This could be her chance for revenge, and she wouldn't miss it.

Cassie slowly turned back to the Lieutenant and never lost her thoughtful expression. "Dtai'k-dte!!!" She shouted, raising a fist into the air, heading towards the doorway.

"Major, wait!!" The Lieutenant shouted, as Cassie stopped and turned to face him. "What do we do?" He asked.

Cassie grinned at him. "Get as many soldiers ready as you can. I want them flooding the streets. If they spot a Yautja I want them to capture it alive and bring it directly to the labs for interrogation. If they see any Xenomorphs tell them to kill them without hesitation. I want the Yautjas alive understand!?" She demanded before running out the door.

"Yes ma'am!" The others replied.

Cassie had dressed up in her armor and got ready for the ship when it arrived. She remained in the control room for an hour or two, waiting for the ship to land, and Max had arrived later on to support Cassie and others, while the streets soon flooded with troops finding places to hide out and wait for a Predator.

"Can you detect where it's gonna land?" Cassie asked, still keeping her eye on the ship over the screen.

The Lieutenant messed with the keyboards for a minute before looking back up. "Yes, as long as it--" After that, the ship went completely invisible and suddenly, in big bold red letters, the sentence 'Tracking has been terminated: Unidentified spacecraft has been lost.' came up on the screen. "...--stays visible..." Cross finished.

"Perfect. Just what we need, now we'll never know where they'll land!" Captain Malek exclaimed.

Cassie gave him a swat on the back, making him throw his arms over his head in defense. "Get a grip, Captain. You have me, remember? I can see their cloaking better than any other human on this disgusting rock." She said, picking up her combi-stick and walking towards the door.

"Cassie, wait! Where are you going?" Max ran after her.

"I'm gonna go hunt them down like a bloodhound, why?" She said. Max started shaking his head and he began to say something until Cassie interrupted him. "Look, how long have you known me?" She asked. He rolled his eyes. "And if you're going to be my husband, you need to learn to accept the part of me that likes hunting these things just as they enjoy hunting us." She said, putting her hand on his shoulder and giving him a light shake. "I'm not a normal girl, you know." She grinned.

He then smiled halfheartedly and nodded. "Yeah. Just be careful, alright? The last thing we both need is you getting injured before the wedding." He said.

"Don't worry, I'll be more than careful. This is something that I'm not going to miss..." She grinned again, running out of the room.

Max stared blankly, confused at her comment. "Wha?"

Cassie, however, was confused herself too. She couldn't understand why the main ship would be coming here after all these years. But then she figured that it might've been the Elder coming after her...and bringing a hell of a lot of hunters along with him to dispose of the people who've been capturing and killing their kind. Cassie had imagined that if she killed the Elder...then she might even be able to take control of their clan, and become the new ruler of the Yautjas. Ooh, how she loved the idea of that; putting them through misery every day. Her only hope was that this was definitely the Elder coming to punish her and those under her command.

Cassie crawled up around the Neonopolis Bank and hid underneath the billboard. This made her rather uncomfortable; since she'd been in this exact same spot before.

She peered out from behind the pole and watched very carefully for any bending objects that might move around. Over the years her eyes had gotten better, she didn't know how or why, but they certainly acted as if they were bionic eyes that could zoom in from a far distance. She turned around and made a 'Shh' face to one of her troops and they nodded in response, as she turned back and spotted the others hiding in every corner and on every roof in her sight range. She shook her head.

"These men don't know how to hide." She thought. "If I can see them...what makes them think that the Yautjas can't--"

"Auugh!!"

Cassie flipped her head around quickly and saw two of her troops gone. The other, was already clinging to her leg. "Major!!" He exclaimed.

Cassie knocked him on the head with her combi-stick. "Quiet down you idiot! They'll hear you!" She whispered angrily.

"What was that?!" He yelped again. This time, Cassie knocked him out.

"Do you not know what 'Shut up' means?!" She whispered again, and froze completely when she saw a small, thin, nearly invisible wire wrap around his leg and drag him off. "Rope..." She muttered. "Rope...rope, ROPE!!!" She said louder, this time, chasing after him. Though she wasn't exactly like the Yautjas, besides her hunting skills and appearance, she couldn't climb up walls, let alone jump to such a height.

She saw the soldier being dragged up the side of the wall, and Cassie rushed to try and grab him before he got too far. She leapt up and grabbed onto his body, hoping that whatever was pulling him up, would pull up her as well. However, it was a thin wire with ridges in it, and Cassie doubled the weight on it.

"Shit. I'm getting up there one way or another..." She said silently to herself.

Soon she saw blood staining the edge of his pants where the rope had been secured around. Cassie still held on, and realized she was almost there, so she turned on her cloaking. She saw more blood stains coming around, and she knew that he might lose a foot unless she did something. She put it aside and was more focused on getting to whomever was pulling them up, and finally reached the top. As soon as she saw above, she grabbed the edge and yanked herself up, letting go of the man. She froze once she looked up, and saw a strangely tall creature, invisible to most, but she could see the areas around it where the light was bending. She knew that this was a Yautja, and it seemed that it didn't see her when it was pulling up its prey.

"Ohh God...they were right...it was a fucking Yautja ship!" Cassie kept looking up at it, afraid to move for fear of it spotting her. But she remembered what her goal was, and ignored being secretive this time. She extended her combi-stick, and the creature heard her. Cassie jumped around, practically taunting the thing, until she finally reached its back and drove her combi-stick through its chest. A loud roar of pain came from the demon, followed by a gurgled purr. Cassie's eyebrows twitched at that noise, but she pushed farther with her combi-stick, trying to kill it as fast as she could.

"Jeez, why won't you die?!" She exclaimed.

She saw it slowly turn its head, and it saw who she was. Obviously this made the creature enraged and it quickly yanked itself free from her stick, collapsing to the ground.

"It's about time." She said. Its cloaking had worn off, and she could see it now. It was definitely a Yautja. She just shook her head, but jumped once it flipped around and grabbed her ankle. "Yeek!!!" She squealed, slamming her combi-stick through its hand, once again, causing it to let out a painful roar. "Don't touch me, devil!" She kicked away its hand like she was trying to escape a cockroach.

It slowly looked up at her, and made another gurgled purr. "S'yuit-de..." It said, before collapsing completely.

Cassie stood for a minute, staring at its lifeless body, exactly as she'd done the other. Not even she knew why she would stare at them so, after she'd killed one. She didn't know if it was because she was trying to bury the past, or if it was because something...just something was telling her that it was wrong. Though, she shook her head and pushed it aside; like she does everything else on her mind.

"AAaagh!!"

Cassie jerked her head up and ran to the edge, stopping when she saw that her men had vanished. She saw no one hiding in corners, the ones on the roofs were gone, and the only left was the one that was behind her; who was probably dead by now after he'd fallen off of the roof and back down to where he previously was.

"Oh God..." She thought, staring at the empty streets. Now that all her troops were gone, what would she do now?

"Major!" She heard Lieutenant Cross shout over her ear piece.

"Shit. What is it with you people yelling in my ear!?" She exclaimed.

"Major...you'd better get back down here right now! We're losing troops by handfulls and we can't see these things like you can!" He said.

"Damn it!" Cassie yelped, looking for a way down.

Cassie arrived back at the base, and found a few windows broken, including the one to her room. She definitely heard a lot of commotion going on inside and she rushed in to see the problem. However the problem was that the mess wasn't occuring upstairs, it was about two or three floors underground where the labs were. This wasn't a good thing, of course, because after all the trouble Cassie went through to capture all those creatures from different races it'd be blown to bits. She quickly ran to the stairwell and took a huge leap down, catching herself on a railing so she wouldn't kill herself when she hit the floor. She jumped down again and finally made it to the floor she wanted to get to, and rushed forward towards the command room.

She saw the Captain and Colonel firing aimlessly in the hallway. "What the hell are you doing?!" She shouted.

They stopped and turned to look at her. "Major! We need help over here!" The Colonel shouted.

"I can see that." She said, rushing to help, but yanked both of their arms down and they looked at her strangely.

"What're you doing?! They're gonna kill us all if we don't--"

"They'll kill you if you give away your goddamn position." She said.

The two looked at each other and back at her. "B-but, they're practically invisible! How are we supposed to--"

"You have me." She said, waving a hand in the air, giving a 'NO!' gesture. "Now stop firing your damn gun into space. I'll take care of the problem, just be sure to have the men back me up." She said.

"Yes ma'am!" They said, saluting her.

"Now what's the problem down here? Where are they?" She said, looking around carefully.

"We think that they might've come to release the other Yautjas that we have locked up in the labs." Lieutenant Cross explained.

Cassie turned to him and tilted her head again. "Those are Bad Bloods that we have locked up the labs, they're ours! A smart Yautja wouldn't dare release a Bad Blood! He'd kill them for all they're worth!" She said, angrily, becoming agitated at the fact that she still didn't know what the problem was.

The two looked at each other again and back at her. "Uhm...Bad Blood?" The Colonel asked.

"A Bad Blood is a Yautja who strayed too far from the clan; an outcast, let alone one who has completely turned against its own kind; a mindless creature." Cassie then lowered her head a bit. "If I was a part of their clan then that's what they'd call me." She thought, but shook her head. "It's like the others that were captured a few years ago...the ones called Stone Heart, Swift Knife...you remember the documentaries left here about them."

The two nodded. "So we're turning them into Bad Bloods by brainwashing them...I see." Lieutenant Cross said.

"So what other reason could they have come here for?" She said to no one.

"Well..." The Colonel said as if he was hiding something.

Cassie immediately flipped her head around and glared at him. "What is it." She said, strongly, expecting something that should've been...unexpected.

"There is one Yautja that we'd captured a while ago that'd been difficult to brain wash. He's always been tough to work with. I wouldn't necessarily say that he's become a...Bad Blood yet but it's as if he's about to break."

Cassie's eyebrows raised into an angry position and her eyes narrowed. "And why haven't I been updated on any Yautjas that were captured without my help!?" She barked.

"We're sorry! It wasn't our orders! Someone else told us to capture it!" The Colonel said.

"Take me to it right this instant. I want all our troops guarding as many Yautja prisoners as possible...and I want to see about this particular one that you all refused to tell me about." She said and they nodded.

Grabbing a few or more officers on the way to the lower level of the base, Cassie and the other two managed to make their way to the second containment level. Cassie knew that the other Yautjas were already inside the base, and were slowly making their way to wherever they were headed. And if what the Colonel said was true, then Cassie wanted to get to this Yautja as quick as possible.

"Wait! It's right here." The Colonel grabbed Cassie and Lieutenant Cross inside a room.

"Are the others stationed as I said?" Cassie asked.

"Yes, they're positioned in front of every cell door just in case one of them breaks out." Cross replied.

"And the nest? What about it?" She asked again.

"The nest is still being guarded. As long as the eggs don't hatch anytime soon it should buy us some time to destroy the remaining Xenos that are trying to escape." He replied again.

"OK, good." Cassie nodded.

"Well...this is it. I'm surprised he's been quiet all this time." The Colonel said, walking over towards it.

Cassie turned around but dropped her combi-stick when she did. This Yautja looked all too familiar.
