The Medallion

August 2, BCDB (Sodor years are measured with letters)

Dennis zoomed across Sodor Bridge, awaiting to see what Sir Topham Hatt had to say. When he was angry, Sir Topham Hatt would go find you and sternly talk to you. But when he wanted you to come to him, it was 99 of the time praise. Dennis had never been congratulated by STH (Sir Topham Hatt in short), but he could hardly wait. STH’s house rolled into view.

“Dennis, I have brought you here on a count that I have something to give you. I must also tell you something. In private. You may go into my engine shed which is inside my house,” STH said. Dennis never knew he had an indoor shed. “Dennis, this is the legendary Mercury Medallion. Only one of these has been made, along with Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn Medallions. I am giving this to you for a very important reason. Are you ready for a long explanation?” asked STH. “Why, yes sir,” Dennis replied.

“This medallion, and the other five, has a picture of the planet, in this case Mercury, and underneath the planet is it’s name in Old Sodorian (the previous Sodor language), which is Mercos. My father gave this to me when I became the owner of this railway. He said, ‘Someday, son, you will have an engine that fit’s the description on the tablet I have given you yesterday. You must give him this, for it will help him find the other five medallions.’ Each of the six engines that will be pictured on the tablet have one of the six medallions. This first picture has appeared today, and after closely observing it, I’ve realized that you are the one who fits the bill. You must take this to find the other five of the six special engines that are hidden on this tablet. The medallion is the only way to know who it is. I am almost certain you will not know any of the other five, but I can not be sure. There will also be three others to help you, with similar medallions, except with the 3 newer planets on them, and they are silver instead of gold. But, evil spirits will try to stop you from joining with the other 5. You see, your 6’s joining can save the world. Those evil spirits will try to destroy you in an attempt to take over the world. I’m leaving it to you to find the others, gang up, and stop the evil spirits. If you are about to meet another of the six, this tablet will show a side view of them. You may take that with you also. And, you will hear a phrase relating to your doom, if the spirits are trying to destroy you. Dennis, you must save the world. Go find the second of the six and see what you can do. I’m trusting that you can do that! And, take care,” STH explained (very thoroughly) to Dennis. Dennis just stared at STH, in shock.

Author’s Note: Here is a story I just came up with today. The ‘dooms’ and the six engines and most of the basic details are set in stone, so don’t try to change my story. Please enjoy!
