“Would you just answer me?!”

“Hn.”

“Argh!”

“…”

Jade met blazing emerald, irritation flickering in their depths, “Just answer the question!”

The pretty petite kunoichi glared harder and fiercer at the unmoving Kazekage at his desk, looking totally unperturbed by her display of temper and impatience.

A smirk filtered across his features, just a slight tipping of the corners of his mouth but it was enough to send the fury filled female into a rage of words, she turned and grabbed at her hair, pacing back and forth, telling him off for annoying her, teasing her!

She turned and glared at him, and stared into totally impassive jade eyes. A sigh escaped her lips and she crumbled to the ground, her head falling foreword with a small ‘thwack’ against the front of his desk as she leaned against it in defeat.

Gaara waited a moment to see if she would hop up and begin to berate him again, after a few minutes passed he began to lean back, picking up some documents to look over… a few minutes more passed…

Gaara sighed, dropped the papers on his desk and stood up. Walking around to the front of the desk he regarded his pink haired companion with a shake of his head.

“What are you doing?”

Her feet where curled up to her and her hands lay limply in her lap, her head leaning against the front of his desk, a defeated, blank look in her eyes.

He sighed and crouched down beside her.

“Sakura.”

Nothing, she didn’t even turn her head to regard him. He sighed again; he did a lot of sighing around her, “Sakura?”

She turned her head, barely, to regard him.

“Hm…”

She gave him a blank stare. He frowned, and swallowed, she knew he hated that look, she knew it reminded him of something he didn’t like.

What it was, she did not know.

“Ah,” he replied with complete understanding, she was giving him shit for the same thing they had been arguing about for the past half an hour.

He stood up and walked back to his desk plopping down, “Alright.”

Silence, then, “Alright?” A pink head bobbed over his desk, emerald eyes watching wearily as she pulled herself up, a pout on her pretty pink lips, “Alright?”

He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms to regard her, “With some conditions.”

She sighed and sat at the edge of his desk, “Of course,” She murmured.

He pushed his chair back a bit with his foot so he could more easily lean back, “The questions you ask have to be vague, ah, what did Naruto-san call it…”

Sakura rolled her eyes, crossed her arms and full out pouted, “Twenty questions.”

She murmured. He nodded his ascent, “Precisely.”

She rolled her eyes and stood up, “That’s totally not the point and unfair!”

He cut off the rant he knew would surface, “Take it or leave.”

She sighed and sat down, she had corrected him the first time he had used the phrase ‘take it or leave it” him leaving out the ‘it’ and he had corrected her by telling her, ‘no, take it or get the hell out.’

She didn’t question him about his speech anymore. However….

“Fine, I accept, but it can be more than twenty.”

He shrugged and picked up some documents.

Sakura sighed, hmm, what to ask, what to ask…she thought, then suddenly, she smirked and leaned over his desk to regard him at eye level, “What’s your favorite color?”

“Red.”

She pouted, “What’s your favorite smell?”

He glanced up at her, a smoldering look, he leaned foreword and Sakura watched him wearily, abet excitedly, “Ramen.”

He whispered. She pierced her lips at him and shoved his shoulder sitting up straight on the desk and straightening her skirt.

“What’s your favorite taste?”

He leaned back in his seat, “Ramen.”

“Gee, thanks Naruto.”

He smirked as she continued, said smirk unseen by a pile of papers in his hand, “What’s your favorite name?

He frowned and rose an eyebrow at her, she waited with her arms crossed, “Ino.”

Her face flushed red and he swore her muscles tensed to jump him.

“I’m kidding.”

He looked mildly amused, she ignored him, her face still flushed, “What’s your favorite season?”

“Summer.” She looked at him suspiciously, he had once remarked he disliked summer and winter because of the weather in the desert at the time.

“Favorite… jutsu?”

He raised an ‘eyebrow’ and she rolled her eyes, “Stupid question.”

She sighed; she was totally put off now.

She jumped off his desk and walked miserably to the couch in the corner of his office to collapse on top of it.

“Whatever.” She mumbled, he stood up from his desk and walked over, robes swishing, “That’s it?”

She didn’t respond before rolling over onto her back to stare broodingly at the ceiling.

“Yep.”

He leaned over her prone form and regarded her, “Ask again.”

Sakura gave him a bored look, “No.”

He sighed and suddenly was on top of her trapping her on the couch, his body pressed against hers, her face flushed, a pretty blush on her features, she let out a small indignant ‘eep!’

He buried his head in her neck and murmured something against her skin. She squirmed and blushed, “What did you say?”

He pulled himself up, “My favorite color is pink.”

Her mouth fell open with shock, he reached out and twirled the piece of pink hair he had caught in his fingers, he brought his head down to nuzzle her neck, Sakura’s breath hitched, “My favorite smell is… you.”

She squirmed again, having trouble breathing, not because there was a body on top of her, rather more because there was a warm, attractive, male body pressed against her.

He caught her lips and she moaned into his mouth, he broke it, “My favorite taste.” He murmured catching her lips again, she shuddered in pleasure the next time he pulled away, his hand roaming her shoulder and collar bone, “My favorite name is my name, because I love the way it rolls of your lips.”

Sakura couldn’t breathe…

He leaned over and kissed her again, trailing down to whisper in her ear, “My favorite season is spring, because it’s the time of year when everything’s starting over, it’s the time of year it rains in Suna and we’re stuck in the house, it’s the time of year you laugh the most because you love the rain, it’s the time of year when I get to spend the most, uninterrupted time with you without state affairs or people getting in the way.”

He pulled back at her and noted the tears in her eyes, the utter and complete adoration, the love.

She reached up and pulled him down, he already knew what her answers would be if he were to ask the same questions.

He whispered something in her ear before the two lost all control of themselves, “And my favorite jutsu…”

The council frowned at the door to the Hokage building, it just wouldn’t budge, neither would the windows! It was the strangest thing, they had all gone out for lunch and when they come back, everything was locked! Even the guards couldn’t get back in... It was certainly not the first time this had happened… but they had a meeting with the Kazekage!

They had to discuss foreign affairs and matters about Konoha, they needed to renew the bonds, sure they had Konoha’s top medic in Suna in exchange for Temari, a peace treaty with actual blood, but it was still good to check and make sure relations were good, they wanted to make sure the Konoha delegate would report back with a good status report.

A sudden scream drew their attention away from the doors and windows and to the Kage tower.

Realization hit like a ton of breaks and murmurs of going down to the local pub where agreed to and followed post haste, they could assume the meeting was going on without them and they had nothing to worry about.

Apparently Konoha would be reporting back about Suna in a very pleasing manner.

Konoha’s bond with Suna would remain strong, the elder smiled lightly as they made there way back through Suna, in fact he had an idea for next meeting, something to suggest, since Temari seemed quite smitten with her Konoha then maybe, just maybe she should stay there with a more permanent gesture of peace, and in exchange.

The old man laughed with the others as they sat down at the sake bar, yes, Suna certainly was in good hands as was Konoha, and whether foreign affairs was a council matter or not was debatable at this point. They toasted, they had their jobs cut out for them.
