New Numbers

Author's Note: Just three drabbles I wrote being bored. So sue me or leave a review ; )

She takes a deep breath and erases the number on the white board. The number that will replace it will be lower than the one before, and it won't be the last.

Another miscount.

Another death by injury.

Another disappearance.

It's what they have started to call the suicides.

The pen leaves a black number on the white board. The contrast is as stark as their lives before and after the attack.

Just disappearing. Just leaving the pain and the bleak future of their race behind.

She can't say she blames them.
