Chapter 4

It was seven o’clock and the sun was already shining. Sonic was under his sheets to get away from the sun. At the moment, he didn’t feel like waking up yet. That was until Tails ran into the room and jumped on his bed.

“Wake up, Sonic!” Tails yelled as he continued to jump on his bed. Sonic just groaned as he stuck his head out from the covers.

“What is Tails?” Sonic asked tiredly as he yawned. Tails stopped and jumped off of Sonic’s bed.

“It’s Christmas Day, Sonic.” Tails said excitedly.

“Is anyone awake?” Sonic asked as he sits up on the bed.

“Yeah, everyone besides you and Maria are down stairs right now.” Tails said. Sonic ears perked up when he heard Tails say that.

“Now hurry up and go down stair stairs while I’ll go get Maria.” Tails said as he walked towards the door but was stopped by Sonic.

“No, you’ll go down stairs while I get Maria.” Sonic said as he gets up from his bed.

“Okay, but hurry up.” Tails said as he ran down the stairs. Sonic put on his gloves, shoes and socks and started to go towards Maria’s room.

Sonic always liked going into her room because it smelled like a summer’s breeze. When Sonic got towards the door and opened it, he sees Maria’s curtains closed as she continued to sleep. Maria’s room was so quiet that Sonic could hear her breathing. Sonic walked quietly towards her curtains and opened them fast. Sonic saw Maria’s eyes shut tightly as she pulled the covers over her head. Sonic smiled a he climb under the covers into her bed lying down next to her.

“Wake up, my love.” Sonic whispered into her ear and kissed her fore head. Then Sonic heard her groan.

“What time is it?” Maria asked as she still had her eyes closed. Sonic looked over to her side table and looked at her digital clock.

“It’s 7:05.” Sonic said as he laid his head down next to her.

“I guess I could wake up.” Maria said as she opened her eyes to stare into Sonic’s emerald eyes. Maria got out of the bed wearing a silky blue night gown and Sonic can see her curves which makes him stare at her.

“Mind if I stay?” Sonic asked slyly as he stands up from the bed.

“Hmhmhm, very funny, Sonic. Now can you leave?” Maria asked as she walked towards him slowly.

Meanwhile:

Sonic was walking down the stairs to see everyone sitting in the living room. Everyone looked tired except for Tails and Cream.

“I can see that you guys where woken up as well.” Sonic said giggling as he sat on the couch everyone’s head nodding.

“Why couldn’t they wait till around 10 or something?” Suicune asked as she started to fall back asleep.

“Tails is 15 and Cream is 12 and they’re still acting like 5 years old.” Knuckles said.

“You really can’t blame them, always a wild kid, stays a wild kid.” Amy said.

“I have to agree on that one, Amy.” Silver said.

“Is Maria awake, Sonic?” Shadow asked.

“I am.” Maria said in a tired voice as she came down the stairs wearing long blue pants and a blue short sleeve shirt. Maria then sat down next to Sonic laying her head on his shoulder. “Man, I could just fall asleep now.” Maria said as she yawned and closed her eyes.

“You better stay awake Maria or the two kids will wake you up.” Rouge said.

“Fine. I’m awake.” Maria said as she opened her eyes but kept her head on Sonic’s shoulder (I’m just going to skip this scene cause I want to start on the sequel ASAP cause I’m tired of keeping this chapter unfinished so I’ll skip the scene where Sonic proposes to Maria).

“Well, that was really entertaining if you ask me.” Amy said with a blush on her face as well with Rouge and Blaze. Then Sonic looked over at Suicune. Suicune felt his gaze and turned to look at him. Sonic winked at her, telling her that he and Maria wanted to be alone.

“Ok. Now I have a gift for you guys. So follow me outside if you like.” Suicune said as she headed towards the door.

“Why?” Cream asked.

“Cause the gift was a little big to fit in here. So bundle up.” Suicune said as she walked outside as everyone else bundled up.

“Let’s go, Sonic.” Maria said as she started to walk towards the door but Sonic grabbed her hand and Maria stopped dead in her tracks and looked at him confused. “What’s wrong, Sonic?” Maria asked. Sonic didn’t answer till the door was shut.

“Maria. I have something to ask you.” Sonic said as he looked into her eyes.

“What is it?” Maria asked confused.

Meanwhile outside:

As Suicune and the others were outside, they noticed that Sonic and Maria are not with them.

“Where’s Sonic and Maria?” Tails asked. Then, Suicune walked towards a window that connected to the living room.

“Where are you going, Suicune?” Knuckles asked.

“Going over to hear what Sonic’s going to say and I’m not missing it for the world.” Suicune said as she had a grin on her face.

“What do you mean?” Blaze asked as she and the others walked towards the window to see Sonic and Maria in the living room. Then Suicune opened the window a little for she and the others to hear.

Meanwhile back inside:

“So, what do you want to tell me, Sonic?” Maria asked as she saw Sonic looking nervous. Sonic swallowed a lump in his throat before he spoked.

“Maria, we’ve known each other for a few years since we first met and when we became a couple. We also been through a lot like battling Eggman, Black Doom, and Solaris. And, after you were taken by Eggman and almost killed, my blood boiled in anger. And now, I have something that I want to give you Maria.” Sonic said.

“Like what?” Maria asked.

“Better now than ever.” Sonic thought as he kneeled down in front of her on one knee. Maria gasped as she knew where this is going. “Maria, I love you a lot since we first met and I only got one question to ask you.” Sonic said as he pulled out a small velvet blue box. Sonic took a deep breath before speaking. “Maria, will you marry me?” Sonic asked as he opened the box up to reveal a beautiful engagement ring. Maria was shocked as tears of happiness were coming out of her eyes.

“Yes, Yes YES!” Maria yelled excitedly as she tackled Sonic to the ground giving him a passionate kiss.

Meanwhile:

“Yes, he finally told her.” Suicune said excitedly as the others were smiling at them.

“I just hope Sonic will take good care of her.” Shadow said.

“I know she will.” Amy said as she kissed him.

Back inside:

After their little session, Sonic placed the ring on Maria’s right ring finger.

“I knew you’ll like it.” Sonic said holding her close to him.

“This is the best gift ever, Sonic.” Maria said as she closed her eyes and rested her head on his shoulder.

“We should go outside to see what Suicune have for us.” Sonic said as Maria nodded and they both went outside hand to hand.

Back outside:

Sonic and Maria came outside to see everyone looking at them.

“What?” Maria asked.

“We over heard you guys and we’re all happy for you.” Knuckles said as the others nodded.

“Anyway enough chit-chatting and follow me to your gift, guys and girls.” Suicune said as the others followed her to the back yard. As they arrived, they saw a statue type thing covered up.

“What is it?” Tails asked.

“You’ll see. Maria, can you help me getting the cover off?” Suicune asked. Maria nodded and walked towards Suicune to help her. Suicune grabbed the right side of the cover as Maria grabbed the left. Then, they both pulled forward taking the cover off revealing the statue. Everyone gasped as they saw it (accept Maria). The statue was a carving of the whole group in battle position.

“Suicune, this is beautiful.” Rouge said as she hugged Knuckles still looking at the statue.

“Thanks. Maria helped me with some of the stuff.” Suicune said ash she and the others stood looking at that in admiration. Sonic and Maria hold hands as they continued looking at the statue.

I'm lucky I have you, Maria Robotnik...

FINALLY I’M FINISHED… sorry for the long update guys…I’ve just been busy lately like school, stories finding chapter 1 for the sequel to this story “Robotnik’s Discovery” and its not like the original story and looking for chapter 10 for my other story “Fox Gone Astray”… so please bear with me till I update my other stories and find the two missing chapters… read and review this story and my other stories please and thank you all good people.
