He knew the Hero instantly. This child, his replacement, defending Hyrule again in endless cycle. Only in death had he seen how little the gods cared. And what cruel form they returned him to: a Stalfos no different than the enemies he’d slain as Hero.

Was devotion truly devotion when ingrained at birth? Could a savior truly save beneath the forceful hand of destiny?

In life such questions never plagued the Hero of Time. In death they lingered on, the only company in his eternal task.
