Summery: this may be a little confusing because the time line is out of wake but bare with me it is a good story (I think). Danny Messer and Lindsay Monroe (From CSI NY) have a 23 year old daughter who is a CSI just like them. She has been sent by her supervisor Mac Taylor get the NCIS team to help on a tough case. I know the time thing is a stretch but just add 20 years onto any CSI NY charters mentioned and it should make sense. Please read and review

Monty Monroe Messer ached all over suddenly she remembered why she hated long plane rides. She had travelled from New York to Norfolk in what she was sure was some kind of record.

She wanted nothing more than to find the nearest cheapest hotel check in wash and sleep before she did anything else but she was a woman on a mission.

She looked up at the huge building in front of her and tried not to be intimidated.

Her boss Mac Taylor had given her a list of instructions which were really more like advice.

Top of the list was show no fear he feeds on fear he will use it against you.

Monty blew out a breath and made her way inside.

“You’re a Messer, You’re a Messer” she chanted over and over under her breath.

Forcing her self to forget that she took far more after her mother than her father she looked around the busy office space she were she stood and picked her victim.

A slightly uneasy looking young man was sat at his desk fighting an avalanche of paper work

Perfect. She allowed an almost feline grin to curve her lips. She moved across the room and with each step she took became more and more like her father.

By the time she stopped in front of the young mans desk she was fully emerged in her role as a female Danny Messer.

“Hey” she smiled at him over exaggerating her New York accent so now even her voice was more like fathers.

“I’m lookin for special agent Gibbs” she said hoping that she was mispronouncing the right words. Her mother had always made sure that she and her siblings had never practiced their fathers New York pronunciation she would cringe if she knew her daughter was trying to do so intentionally.

The young man looked up at her his expression was one of irritation. She smiled at him enchantingly (this was THE trait from her mother that she was using in her performance) the mask of frustration that he had worn since she entered the office now melted away and he looked pleasantly confused.

“He here?”

“He?” maybe she had over done the smile the poor fella looked completely befuddled.

“Gibbs” she reminded him with a roll of her eyes that would do her father proud.

“Oh err no he’s out on a case can I help you”

“Thanks but it has to be Gibbs”

“You’re welcome to wait” He offered not any more at ease than when she first spoke to him.

She smiled at him again (She took it easy on him this time) a friendly smile and extended her hand out to him

“I’m Monty, Monty Monroe Messer”

He shook her hand exuberantly

“Monty’s a strange name” she raised an eye brow at him

“I- I- I mean it’s unusual I’m, I’m, I’m-” She really must have over done the smile.

“Monty is a strange name for a girl I agree blame my parents I do”

She kept on smiling in a friendly way and he kept on stuttering.

“I’m -I’m”

“McGee” she supplied for him

“How did you know that?” he asked quizzically

She didn’t say anything; she just kept on smiling and pointed down at the brass name plate on his desk that read T McGee

“So what dose the T stand for” she asked when McGee didn’t answer she began to list names that began with T.

“Thomas, Tom, Toby, Tony-”

“No he’s Timmy I’m Tony”

The man who spoke as he strode in reminded her of her father or at least the stories she had heard about her father before her mother came along.

He was followed by a woman who moved with an agile confidence that testified to the strength she obviously possessed.

There entrance seemed to be just McGee needed to bring him back to his senses.

“I prefer Tim, Monty this is Ziva David” he said indicated to the woman who gave Monty a firm hand shake

“Ziva this is Monty Monroe Messer”

Monty turned from Ziva to the man who entered with her “And this is Tony DiNozzo” McGee introduced

Tony took her hand gently and gave her what she was sure was meant to be a charming smile but she had seen smiles like that too often to be fooled.

“You don’t look like any Monty I’ve ever met before” he said with a cheesy smile

“And you don’t look like any Tony I’ve ever met before ether”

“No?” he asked still holding her hand

“No” she told him “Tony’s are cool smooth confident and smart I’m guessing that you’re an Anthony trying to pass him self off as a Tony” Tony just stared at her opened mouthed while the others tried not to laugh.

Then she went for the kill “Sorry Anthony ya just ain’t makin it

Tony’s jaw dropped even lower but he still hadn’t let go of her hand.

“DiNozzo put the nice lady down she’s to young and too cute for you” an older greying man said entering the room with much less force but more authority than Tony had she knew this had to be Gibbs.

“You must be special agent Gibbs” Monty said warmly

“That depends on who you are and if I want to talk to you” he answer coolly

“This is Monty Monroe Messer boss” Tony supplied for her

“Thank you Ant I can speak for myself” she said to Tony before turning back to Gibbs

“I’m for the New York crime lab an old friend of yours sent me to find you”

“I don’t have friends old or other wise Tony get her out of here” Gibbs decreed marching away.

“With pleaser boss” Tony called after him and laid a hand on Monty’s shoulder. A hand which she dislodged in one quick and graceful shrugging motion before taking off after Gibbs.

Tony readied himself to go after but he was stopped by Ziva

“I sagest you do not try that again” she said catching him by the elbow

“Why not” he asked Ziva could have stood there and listed all the ways she could tell that the young lady in question could handle her self and that he would be no match for her but she went with the quicker easier option.

“Because it would be a shame to see her brake that pretty nose of yours” she said to which he replied

“You think my nose is pretty?”

Ziva just rolled her eyes and gave Tony’s elbow a tug “come on”

Monty court Gibbs on the offices main stair case, she was only steps behind him but he acted as if she wasn’t there.

“Be bold” Mac’s words echoed in her head “He respects that”

“Dose the name Mac Taylor mean anything to you marine” she snapped in what her mother had called he listen to me now voice.

Gibbs froze and turned slowly towards her

“What did you say” he asked her in the same cold tone he had used before.

Ziva Tony and McGee appeared, they took one look at the seine before them and quickly disappeared.

They knew that Gibbs was about to make Monty a member of the team even if she didn’t.

“I said dose the name Mac Taylor mean any thing to you marine” Monty repeated hoping she wasn’t showing any of the fear that his cold eyes had sent shooting thought her.

Suddenly all the cold was gone Gibbs smiled and said “I hear you the first time I just wanted to know if you had the guts to say it again”

Gibbs’s hand connected with the back of her head and it was Monty’s turn to smile as she remembered Mac’s last words before to her before she left.

“If he slaps you upside the head it means he likes you”

“You 3 conferences room 2 now” Gibbs snapped at his 3 agents that had returned to there desks then turning to Monty “Follow me Detective”
