Dance

Toph was home alone again. Once her parents had realized that she could take care of herself, they had wasted no time in abandoning her at home for days at a time.

Of course, that was four years ago. When she was twelve. Now, they had flown off to Australia for three months. Fun.

She lazily flicked off the TV, dragging herself off the couch and climbing up the stairs, with a stumble into her room. The 16 year old picked up her iPod, clicked play, and pulled on her big, wireless headphones. Immediately she heard the voice of Natasha Bedingfield flowing through her, vibrating all her senses…

And what she would never have imagined happened… first she sang along… and then she danced.

These words are my own…

From my heart flow..

I love you, I love you, I love you!”

Her short black hair tousled, pale eyes closed and hands clasped in from of her, as if she were holding a microphone, she felt so alive. And next thing she knew, there were footsteps leading into her room, and she felt lips touch hers. Her eyes flew open to reveal Sokka, pulling back out of the kiss.

He smiled and said, “I love it when you dance.”
