Chapter 1 – Meeting

“Paige and Phoebe, you’re going to be late for school,” Penny Halliwell shouted to her youngest granddaughters.

“We’re coming, Grams,” Phoebe Halliwell shouted to her grandmother.

Penny shook her head. She walked into the kitchen where her second oldest granddaughter, Piper sat having breakfast. “Your baby sisters take forever to get ready for school.”

“They’re high school students, Grams,” Piper replied. “Appearance is everything in high school.”

Piper tried to forget her high school days. She had had bad acne, wore glasses, and had braces in high school. She left like a loser. She had not been a popular like her older sister; Prue had been a cheerleader and class president.

But that was high school for Piper. She was 20 years old and in her second year of college. Her younger sisters, Phoebe and Paige were 18 and 16. Their older sister, Prue was 23.

“I shouldn’t have let Prue move away,” Grams said. “She could always get a hold on Phoebe and Paige.”

It was currently December. Prue had graduated college back in May. She had a degree in photography. She and her longtime boyfriend moved away during the summer.

Piper and her sisters lived with their grandmother. Their mother had died when they were young. Paige was Piper, Phoebe, and Prue’s half sister. After the girls’ mom, Patty Halliwell divorced her husband, Victor Bennett, she got together with Paige’s father and then Patty had Paige.

“Grams, Prue wanted to leave San Francisco. She needed to leave home. Prue was sick of having to take care of Phoebe, Paige, and I. She felt it was her job as the older sister,” Piper said.

“Well, that just put the entire burden on you, dear.”

Piper shrugged. “Eh, it had to put on someone. Its better that it’s me than you, Grams. You’re just here to provide for us. I take care of my baby sisters.”

Grams nodded her head.

“Piper, I need some stuff from the store,” Phoebe said walking into the kitchen. “I made a list.”

Piper took the list. She looked at it. She glared at her sister. She motioned Phoebe toward her. Phoebe leaned into her sister.

“Get your own condoms!” Piper said.

“Well, I’m out of money,” Phoebe said. “But I guess I could just have sex without them.”

“Ooh! I’ll buy your stupid condoms!”

“Thanks,” Phoebe said hugger her sister. “You’re the best. Bye, Grams.”

“Good-bye, dear. Bye, Paige,” Grams said.

“Bye,” Paige said.

Piper watched as her little sisters walked out of the kitchen. A minute later she heard the front of the house close. Piper looked at the clock on the microwave.

“Well, I better go get ready,” She said standing up. “I have to leave for class in ten minutes.”

“Okay,” Grams said.

Piper walked out of the kitchen and up-stairs to her bedroom.

Forty-five minutes later, Piper pulled into a parking place at San Francisco State University. She turned off the car. She then got out of the car. She went into the backseat. She grabbed her backpack. She closed the door and locked her car. She then walked out of the parking lot.

Piper smiled as the wind blew. It was nice and cold out. It didn’t snow in California, but it got a little cold. Piper loved it. She loved to be away from home. She hated Prue for moving away and leaving her to be older sister. Phoebe and Paige were teenage troublemakers. Piper could understand they were teenagers and just having fun. She sure hoped they’d get their act together after high school.

“Hey Piper,” A voice called.

Piper turned at the sound of her name. She saw her friend, Jessica Archer.

“Hey Jessie,” Piper said with a smile.

“Hi,” Jessie said. “Are you just getting here?”

“Yeah,” Piper said. “But the most annoying thing happened this morning.”

“What?”

“Well, Phoebe came into the kitchen and handed me a list of stuff she needed from the store. There was a lot on the list, so I know it wasn’t all Phoebe’s?”

“Some of it was also Paige’s?” Jessie asked.

“Yep, but I saw condoms were written on the list!”

“Oh my god, are you serious?”

Piper nodded her head.

“Jesus,” Jessie said.

“You’re telling me. But at least someone is getting some,” Piper said.

“I hear you there.”

Piper smiled.

Piper and Jessie had met in one of their classes last fall. They were both majoring in the same thing too, Culinary Arts. They both wanted to be chefs.

“But I also need a boyfriend,” Piper said.

“Not really, Piper,” Jessie said.

“You’re a little slut, you know all,” Piper said with smile.

“That’s why you love me.”

Piper smiled. “How was your morning?”

Jessie went on to tell Piper about her morning. Piper listened. She focused all of her attention of her friend. She wasn’t paying any attention to where she was going and collided into someone.

“Oh my God, I’m so sorry,” Piper said.

“No, it’s my fault I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.”

“Neither was I,” Piper said with a grin.

The person she ran into was a guy, a very hot and sexy guy. He smiled at Piper. “Well, we both weren’t paying attention to where we were going then,” He said.

“Uh-huh,” Piper said.

“I’m Leonardo Wyatt, but people call me Leo,” The guy said extending his hand.

“I’m Piper Halliwell,” Piper said shaking his hand.

“It’s nice to meet you, Piper,” Leo said.

“You too,” Piper said. “Excuse me.”

Leo nodded his head. Piper and Jessie then walked away.

“That guy was a total hottie,” Jessie said.

“Very,” Piper said with a smile.
