The Intellect of Love – Chapter 10

“And welcome back to the New Year's Celebration here in Times Square where we are less than four minutes away from the new year.” blared the television loudly inside Tory's living room.

At hearing this Colin gently began to shake his slumbering partner in his position atop his chest . “Tory.” he said softly into his ear. “Tory.” he said again, this time slightly louder.

At last the red head's eyes fluttered opened and began to twirl about the room in curiosity as to why he had been awakened from his slumber.

He then turned behind him and blushed when it finally dawned on him that had fallen asleep on Colin not too long ago.

Tory placed his head back onto Colin's chest but Colin promptly took hold of his head and shook him to keep Tory from doing so.

“Don't go back to sleep Tory. Remember, you told me your wanted to be awake when the new year came in.”

“Aww, there'll be others.” answered Tory as he placed his head atop Colin's chest once more.

Colin smiled and blushed slightly as he felt Tory breathing softly into his chest.

“All right then Tory, but don't come complaining to me when the new year passes you right on by.” Colin whispered into Tory's ear.

“All right, all right. I'll stay up!” Tory responded somewhat agitated. But just as he was about to leave Colin's chest Tory added, “But...you don't mind if I still lay on you...do you?” he asked with a freckled blush.

Colin simply smiled and said, “Of course not Tory.” before placing a warm kiss atop his head.

At that moment Tory's mother came into the living room and nearly melted at the interaction between Colin and her son.

“Oh!” she exclaimed when she saw the kiss Colin was planting on Tory. “You guys just look so cute together!”

She quickly made herself comfortable on the spot next to them hoping to see some more action. “Feel free to do whatever you want while I'm here.” she said plotting onto the couch.

“Mom!” Tory whined to his mother, embarrassed at her actions.

It was needless to say that when the pair told her about their relationship she was more than supportive. Who would have known that Tory's mother was a yaoi fan girl?

But even though her support was greatly appreciated by Tory, he still thought that she overdid it at times as she did with many things. Speaking of the past, a lot of things had occurred in it. First and foremost, Damian never came true on his threat. Last Tory and Colin heard of him he had transferred back to Manhattan.

Colin and Tory had pretty much been accepted by everyone around them which surprisingly included Dr. Garretts. Though he did prefer that the pair keep their romanticizing out of his viewing area.

Yes, much had gone on in the past year but in the midst of New Years Eve hype the young couple was hoping they could put behind their past differences and begin their life anew but more importantly together.

“My look at this crowd! That clock better hurry up before they explode from the excitement!” exclaimed the television announcer.

“Only two more minutes left.” Tory said as if quoting his journal.

“Tory?” asked Colin.

“Yeah?”

“Would you like to go outside. I'm sure the cool air will help you stay awake long enough to see the new year through.”

Tory smiled at this idea and promptly raised from the couch to help Colin up and lead him outside.

Mary smiled to herself having a pretty good idea of what the pair was planning on doing outside. Normally she would have prevented Tory from exiting the house, but she could tell the pair wanted to along.

As Colin made sure the door was closed, Tory quickly turned in the direction in which Times Square was located.

“Hey Colin...” he began in a somewhat childish voice.

“Yeah Tor?”

“Do you think that if we squinted our eyes hard enough we could see the lights of Times Square?”

Colin smiled at this. Tory knew very well that that was impossible which made the genius all the more cuter.

“No, Tory that wold be highly unlikely.”

“Aww crap!” Tory said with a pouty expression as he laid his head upon Colin's chest once more.

“I really wanted to see Times Square.” Tory continued.

“One day we will Tory.” Colin said as he nuzzled Tory's head slightly.

“Promise?” Tory asked as he sunk into the feeling.

“Promise.”

Tory then hugged Colin tightly as suddenly the television announcer began to lead the audience in the countdown to the new year.

“30,29,28,27,26,25...”

“The countdown's started Tory, you want to go back inside?” asked Colin.

“24,23,22...”

“No, I want to stay out here with you.” responded Tory.

“21,20,19,18,17,16...”

After a few more seconds of tender hugging Tory said, “You know Colin whenever you kiss me my heart skips a beat.”

“15,14,13...”

“Really?”

“Yeah.”

“12,11...”

“Well would you like to feel that way right now?” asked Colin nearing his face and lips towards Tory's.

“10,9,8,7...”

Tory took a few seconds to look at Colin's beautiful face.

“6,5,4...”

“Yes.” Tory answered, much longing in his voice. And with that...

“3,2,1...HAPPY NEW YEAR!”

...the two boys locked their lips together in a deep kiss. With the passion, and the tongues, put to use the two took part in what had to be the longest New Year kiss in history before breaking aprt in an afterglow of pure breathlessness and ecstasy.

The two boys huffed for air as they stared upon each other with longing eyes.

“Happy New Year, Tory.” said Colin softly as he embraced Tory in a warm hug.

“Happy New Year, Colin.” Tory repeated as the two held each other in the midst of a new stage in their lives and in their hearts.

A/N: Well guys we've reached the end of The Intellect of Love. Sorry guys no lemon in this story...though I am thinking about putting one in 'A Tale of Two Kings.'
