“What is the meaning of this?” Asked the Colonel, coldly but deadly.
The children in front of them didn't even blink.
“The Izumo has on board potential mutiny members.” Answered one of them.
“Such as?” asked the grey-haired man.
“Lieutenant Dominic, Captain Jurgens and others.” Answered another child.
The Colonel slowly nodded.
“Do you have proof of this?” demanded the official.
“Yes. The Lieutenant showed signs of revolt upon the treatment of Anemone and casualties of war. The Captain, even if he was wise enough not to get involved, showed a certain difficulty when it came to following orders. The others showed both or one of these traits.” Said a third child.
“Anemone? What is the relation between her and Dominic?” Asked the Colonel, suddenly interested.
“We believe the Lieutenant has feelings for her. One-sided.” Said a fourth.
“Interesting indeed... Destroy the Izumo. I want no survivors. Inform the press, blame the GekkoState. We can use this for our own own advantage.” He said finally.
“Should we order the transfer of type TheEnd to another ship?” Asked the fifth child.
“No. It is dispensable. I can risk having a LFO as powerful as TheEnd against us. Besides we can always replace them. I have more Anemones being produced and LFOs as powerful as TheEnd... It failed therefore it is dispensable. I want that ship destroyed far away from any city!”
The five children aligned.
“Yes Sir!” Said the Ageha Squad with a smile.
Dewey Novak smiled himself.

“Anemone! Where is that girl?” Lieutenant Dominic Sorel said as he searched the ship.
She wasn't in her room so where was the girl. He only had other place left to check. TheEnd's hangar. He sighed in front of the massive door and finally pushed the button that opened the door. The first thing that caught the eye in the large room was the black LFO. It was somehow chained to a structure. It was the launching catapult. A girl sat on one of his hands smiling insanely at him. He smiled himself. Somehow, he loved the insane girl on the LFO's hand. The girl had long pink hair and, even if they were closed, violet eyes with a red slit that crossed the iris and pupil. She suddenly opened her eyes and, upon seeing him, her smile faded, replaced by a look of boredom. His smile faded also. He was prepared to say something but the communicator interrupted him.
“Lieutenant Dominic Sorel, your presence is required at the bridge. Immediately.” It was Maria Schneider, the Vice-Captain.
He signed.
“I'll be back.” He muttered to Anemone.
Upon crossing the door, she appeared beside him.
“Guess you're coming too.”
The two went to the bridge, the girl smiling insanely all the way. When they arrived, the Captain looked at them and immediately winced. Before Anemone could start a «What does this button do?» he began.
“Everyone. This includes you two. This is very important. We're out of any city or even village airspace. And just some minutes before, a ship appeared on our radar. It is one of us but it refuses to open a communication and has it's weapons drawn out.”
Dominic frowned.
“Are you suggesting we are it's target?” He said, a bit offended.
“It has been coming in our direction since it appeared on the radar, there are no other ships in a thousand kilometer radius. It could be a mutiny. Here. See.” Said Maria Schneider.
A image of the ship appeared in the screens. It was definitively a Federation ship. The Captain frowned.
“I want everyone ready for full evacuation! Hopefully, it won't be needed.” He said.
“We don't have enough escape pods for that Captain!” Commented a officer.
“Use the KLFs. You two might go in TheEnd.” He said looking at them.
“The ship is firing range Sir!” Said someone.
Everyone ready for the worst.

“The Izumo is in firing range.” Said a soldier.
The children smiled. One of them gave the decisive order.
“Fire at will. The rebel ship must be destroyed. Destroy any attempts to escape.”
The soldiers nodded. The children laughed at the sight of the once mighty ship falling apart, the hull crashing on the forest, escape pods and KLFs trying to escape the raging fire. And failing. One of them pointed and laughed even harder when a distinct black LFO was hit and fell into the forest below.

The two ran through the shaking halls. Suddenly, a fur ball landed on the boy's shoulder. He winced, expecting a terrible weight. But Gulliver was as light as a feather. Finally they got to the hangar of the only LFO of the ship. The girl was suddenly full of fear.
“Come on Anemone! We've got to go!”
She shook her head franticly.
“No! No! No! It'll hurt.”
She fell to her knees, sobbing. Dominic picked her hand and made her look him in the eyes.
“I'll be here, don't worry. Just hurry!”
She nodded and followed him into the cockpit. It was the first time she would ride TheEnd without the drugs or even the battle-suit. She put her hands and feet in the commands, fearing what would happen next. Dominic was beside her, trying to keep his balance. The cockpit projected the image of the exterior. They didn't saw it but, outside, TheEnd's eyes shinned with a renewed glow. Then, the hangar zone was hit and the catapult was shattered. TheEnd, badly damaged, tried to get on his lifting-board but a laser hit him. He fell in the forest, crashing down with an explosion. His pilots fell unconscious as the explosion hit them.

Anemone opened her eyes slowly. She felt numb. She put her hand on her forehead, trying to remember what happened. A headache had already begun and she wasn't in the best of moods. Her hand was wet, she wondered with what. It was full of blood. She looked around at her surroundings. It was a very dark place and only a slit of light showed. She tried to move but her hands and feet were stuck. She pulled and finally got free. Slowly, she moved towards the light. She could see a forest outside. She sat and began analyzing her situation. All she remembered before the hole in her memories was Dominic's scream... The memories rushed in her head, hitting her with horrible realizations. She stood up quickly, ignoring the pain on her wrists and ankles, probably due to piloting TheEnd without the battle-suit. She tried to lift the cockpit's cover to get more light. When she got the desired light, she turned herself to the interior of the cockpit, bracing herself for what she would see.
“No...”
The walls were bloodstained and dented. A body laid on the ground. She knelt next to Dominic, searching for wounds. She found a huge gash in the back of his head, the source of all the blood. She looked at it in desperation. There was nothing she could do about it. Dominic had already lost a lot of blood during the time she had been unconscious. It could have been hours, days! She put his head in her lap. Dominic moaned. She saw his eyes slowly open and had hope again.
“Where am... Uh!” He groaned in pain.
She put a hand over his lips.
“Don't talk. You'll be okay.” She whispered.
“How am... Uh I.” He tried to say.
“Okay. You're going to be okay.”
“Don't lie to me Anemone... Please.”
“I... I... I don't know...” She sobbed.
He closed his eyes. They rested like that several minutes before he tried to get up. She tried to stop him but realized what he wanted. He wanted to see the sun for one last time. She helped him but as she forcedly opened the cockpit, she gasped. The End was a wreck. Even the best repairmen would say he was as good as a pile of junk. He sat against a cliff, his legs half folded. Dents were everywhere, the metal was scorched and one of the arms was practically smashed. Incredible enough, the cockpit was one of the least damaged places. His eyes followed them weakly and Anemone wished once again she could change it. As they touched the ground, she noticed a small body on the earth. She rushed to him, leaving Dominic against TheEnd's arm. It was Gulliver's body. Tears appeared in her eyes as she held the small body against her chest. It had no wounds, and probably died from the impact. Dominic limped to her side, blood still oozing from his head wound. He saw her tears and understood it.
“I'm sorry.”
She lifted her head and looked into his eyes and he was hurt himself by the pain in her eyes. Her pain was endless. How much had she suffered at the hands of the UF to become what she was? How much had she suffered at his own hands? Guilt overcame him. A small sob came from her throat.
“Who? Why?” She asked, her voice a bare whisper.
He looked at her and then at the sky, thinking of it. Not even he knew the answer to such question but he could easily guess.
“Dewey.” he said. “Dewey was behind this. The Ageha Squad left just a week ago and I know how they looked at us. I don't know how they did it. Maybe they accused of mutiny or pretended our ship was under rebel control. Like that, they don't have to justify themselves before the public opinion. Smart move. I just don't know what they could win by destroying the Izumo and it's crew. It doesn't make sense.”
“Nothing does anymore. Right Dominic?” Nobody answered her. “Dominic? Dominic!”
Dominic had fallen near her, his clothes soaked with his own blood. She picked his head and put her in her lap. His eyes half opened and with a weak voice due to the immense blood loss.
“Hey... Anemone... I... wish I could have... saved you...”
“Focus more on saving yourself, you big idiot!”
“I know...” He chuckled. “But... It's a bit... too late... for... me...”
“No it isn't! Don't be a bigger idiot! I'm gonna save you!”
“There's... no... hope for... me.”
Tears fell from her eyes.
“Do you know what Anemone means? The Anemone flower?”
He shook his head and she looked at him with a sad smile on her face.
“A dying hope. Disappearance of hope.”
“Don't say... that... You've always had... hope...”
They stayed like that for several minutes, knowing that he was losing his life and she could do nothing about it. TheEnd showed his hand to her and they climbed on it. It was also lost for him and she knew it. Her world was falling apart and she was powerless. Those moments lasted for an eternity and said everything they hadn't said to each other. But everything must come to an end. He stroke her hair softly as he knew his time had arrived. More tears fell from her eyes.
“Anemone... I love... you.” He said.
Her eyes widened and a smile took over her face.
“I love you too.”
“It's the first time... I see you... smile... like that...” He said amazed. “I like it.”
“Don't go... please.”
“I... wish I... could stay... with you... forever...” He smiled and, his time come, he began a sentence that meant all. “...Love... You...” He managed to say in his last breath.
In her arms, he was with a smile on his lips, eyes closed. A peaceful expression for someone that never had peace. Dominic Sorel was no more.

Άνεμος is Greek for wind and the origin of the word anemone.
Occurs after the Nirvash and TheEnd first encounter, after the Ageha reported to Dewey and Dominic met Axel but before Renton meets Charles and Ray Beam.
Remember this is a Alternate Universe.
It does not end here.
