Scooter: Well, this is dedicated to my one of my new friends on here: Jaythorne! I hope she likes this! It isn't my best work, but I'm not used to writing for Black Blood Brothers yet! I'm sorry for any OOC ness, but bear with me!! Enjoy!

Chapter 1

It was winter in the Special Zone, and Kotarou was playing in a snow bank, squealing happily like a pig in mud. Jirou was sitting contentedly next to Mimiko, or Mimi-chan as he and Kotarou sometimes called her. Jirou had his red hat one and had closed his coal black eyes to rest up. He was after all a Vampire. Think about it! Vampires plus sunlight. Yup! Bad! Jirou exhaled, his breath turning to mist and he leaned his head back and was about to nod off when he felt a splat of cold.

Jirou cried out in panic and his eyes flew open to see his blonde brother in front of him, snow dripping from his gloved hand. Mimiko began to laugh, as did Kotarou.

Coal met sapphire but Jirou cracked a smile of his own and he left his hat next to Mimiko and ‘leaped into the fray’.

“Careful, Jirou-san! You’ll get sick!” Mimiko called out.

“Ah,” was how the Vampire responded.

Since he had been turned, Jirou hadn’t gotten sick once. Pretty lucky, ne? Not getting sick for ten years. So naturally he basically ignored the young Comprimiser.

--Few hours later—

“You ok, Jirou?” Kotarou asked, looking at his brother’s pale face.

“Nnn?” Jirou looked at his brother. “Yes I feel fine, why do you ask?”

Kotarou peered at his brother intensely with his crystal blue eyes. “You just seem a bit distracted.”

Jirou frowned. “But I feel fine.”

The clouds covered the bright sun, making it possible for Jirou to be outside. Also since it was not raining he wouldn’t suffer. Another plus.

The two Vampire brothers had finished their game forty-five minutes ago, leaving them shivering and with splotches of pink on their cheeks.

Jirou sat with Kotarou at a small wooden table, drinking hot chocolate.

“Ahh! This is so good, Mimi-chan!” Kotarou squealed happily.

“Mmhmm. Glad you approve, Kotarou-kun. Do you like it, Jirou-san?”

“Mm?” It took Jirou a second to comprehend what she had said. “Yes, thank you, Mimiko-chan.”

A buzzing came from within the folds of Mimiko’s outfit and Jirou and Kotarou looked at her.

“Mimiko Katsuragi here,” A pause. “Yup. God nothing on my ‘to do’ list. A case? Ohh. Yea. Sure I can stop on by.” Mimiko closed the cellphone with a snap and looked at Jirou and Kotarou. “I have to swing by the office for a few hours. That okay?”

Jirou nodded, his black eyes boring into Mimiko’s brown ones.

“Yea! Just hurry back, ok, Mimi-chan!”

Mimiko grinned at Kotarou and turned to leave.

Jirou smiled and watched his brother drain the rest of his drink and looked up when he heard three quick raps on the door.

“Can you get it, Kotarou?”

“Ah! Right, aniki!”

Kotarou leaped up and sprinted to the door. Jirou leaned back and passed a hand over his face.

“Ah! Zelman-san!”

Jirou’s coal eyes opened. ‘Red-eye Zelman? Oh. Right, he’s Kotarou’s friend. Of course,’

Zelman Clock walked in with Kotarou hot on his heels. The fire Vampire had his hat on, and had his hands in his pocket as usual. He stood in front of Jirou and grinned.

“Hello, Jirou-san.”

“Zelman-san.”

“I just thought I’d drop by and check up on you two to see how you’re faring in the Special Zone.”

Jirou’s pale face split into a grin, revealing his sharp teeth and Zelman blinked.

“You feel ok, Jirou-san?”

Jirou’s grin faded and he sighed. “Yes! Why do you people continue to insist that I am sick?!” Jirou cried, a look of frustration plastered upon his face. “I can’t get sick!”

Zelman chuckled and took out a cigarette and inserted it into his mouth. He snapped his fingers and the end of the smoke ignited. “How long?”

“Hn?”

Zelman slapped his head. “How long since you were turned?”

“Ah,” Unwillingly, Jirou’s mind flitted back to Alice, “Ten years. Well, eleven now.”

“You can get sick, Jirou-san,”

“I ca—“ His head went back and then snapped forward as he sneezed.

Zelman smirked and blew smoke out of the corner of his mouth. “Told you so, Jirou-san,”

Jirou rubbed his nose and sniffed. “Oh, shut up.”

“Anikiiiii!” Kotarou whined, causing Zelman and Jirou to look at him. Jirou gave his younger brother a questioning glance. “You should lay down!”

“I’m fine!” The Vampire insisted, baring his fangs.

Zelman snorted. “Riiight. And I’m the nicest Vampire in the world,”

Kotarou made himself known once more. “You are nice, Zelman-san!”

“Eh? Ah why thanks, Kotarou-kun,”

“Mmm!”

Jirou broke the silence with another sneeze. He rubbed his nose. Zelman cupped a hand behind his ear. “Ahem, I’m waiting.”

“Grrr. You were right, Zelman.” He intentionally removed the honorific. Zelman smirked and took another drag on his cigarette. Jirou plugged his nose. “Yech. Please put that fowl thing out. It’s disgusting,”

Zelman rolled his red eyes and removed the smoke from his mouth, dropped it, and crunched it under his right foot. Jirou sighed in relief and sneezed once more. Kotarou thought a moment and grinned suddenly.

“Ah-ha! I’ll go get Rinsuke-kun!”

Jirou’s coal black eyes widened. “No! Please, Kotarou!”

But his hyperactive younger brother was gone. Zelman chuckled.

“You have a nice young brother, Jirou-san,”

Jirou sighed. “Yea . . . but I do have a—“ a sneeze “—a duty to protect him,”

“You’ll have to tell me why someday.”

The Old Blood glowered at Zelman, who disregarded this and continued on by asking, “How have you and Kotarou-kun been doing here in the Special Zone really?”

This seemed to startle Jirou. “W-We’re fine. Why?”

“Heh, what if Cassa were to come back?”

Jirou’s eyes flashed dangerously and Zelman blinked. “Do you really hate her that much?”

“Yes. In the battle of Hong Kong, she betrayed me and Alice—“

“Alice?”

Jirou ignored him and didn’t answer. Zelman sighed and looked around the small room. The silence continued for a few more minutes and was shattered by a few quick raps at the door.

“Aniki! We’re back!”

“Oh, Gods,”

The door opened with a creak and Kotarou stood in the threshold in front of the purple-haired Rinsuke. Upon seeing Jirou, Rinsuke leaped forward.

“Jirou-chan!”

Zelman snorted and Jirou rubbed his temples.

“Jirou-chan?!” Zelman laughed again, as did Kotarou, although he probably had no idea what he was actually laughing at.

Scooter: Well, there's chapter one! I hope you liked it! Please give me some feedback! I'll update as soon as I can!
