Her head pounded as she groaned lightly, what had happened? Placing a hand gingerly over her head she opened her eyes, squinting immediately at the bright light that blinded her vision. Rubbing her eyes she groaned and sat up her head ached in protest but she didn’t seem to care as she opened her eyes fully after they adjusted to the bright light from the room. Staring out the window as she tried to regain her thoughts on what happened to her. Snapping her fingers as her face lit up at her success in remembering through the pounding headache, but turned into a frown when she processed the thought.

“I was about to be hit by a car, then suddenly I was at the side walk and dropped roughly.”

She muttered to herself, rubbing the tender wound on the back of her head as the white bandages graced her forehead and around her head, making it in her opinion even larger then before! Frowning she brought her hands up to her forehead and began to claw at the tight bandages until the first layer snapped and the rest shriveled from the lack of grasp.

“What is she doing?”

Jade eyes widened as her head snapped up, staring at the boy across the room. How long had he been there, and who was he? The door burst open and slammed in front of the male as her eyes widened reaching a hand out as if to grasp thin air.

“Hey, you just hit that person!”

She stated, looking at the shocked doctor who quickly moved the door from the wall getting ready to apologize, but met nothing but thin air. Blinking through the clear lense of the glasses that rested on the bridge of his nose.

“You must have hit your head harder then I expected, you should lay back down. No one’s there.”

The girl looked baffled, was he calling her a liar?! There was someone right there!

“But he’s right there!”

She pointed at the male leaning against the wall, with one eyebrow raised at her as if looking at her like she had gone completely insane. The doctor shook his head clicking his tongue in disappointment as he set the clipboard down on the desk near the white bed she sat upon.

“Please miss Haruno calm down. There isn’t anyone there.”

Her eyes narrowed as she threw the white sheets off her and stomped over to the male leaning against the wall, jabbing a finger into his chest and seemingly shocking him seeing as he flinched away quite a bit.

“He’s right here!”

She yelled, looking at the doctor who was muttering something into the microphone to call the nurses. Pursing her lips together she whipped toward the male growling out,

“Say something so I don’t look like a maniac!”

Growing more frustrated when he stared at her like she was a maniac. Before she could yell at him the doctor came over resting a hand on her shoulder causing her to jump.

“Miss Haruno, please lay back down.”

Ripping her shoulder away she took a step back from the doctor.

“I’m fine!”

The doctor shook his head, sighing in frustration at her stubbornness

“You seemed to have an allergic reaction to the Tylenol we gave you, you’re hallucinating.”

She went to yell but paused for a moment, hallucinating? If she was hallucinating how could she touch and feel someone? Turning her head away from the doctor and toward the wall, she gasped when she saw that he wasn’t there anymore. Her mouth hung open as she stared at the blank wall.

“But..he was right here..”

She stated, placing a hand out and onto the wall, feeling the cold hard surface beneath her fingertips.

Sedate her..We’ll redo an x-ray test to make sure she didn’t get any damage.”

“Sedate me?! Aren’t you guys taking this a bit far?!”

She cried out, taking a step back from the approaching nurse, a needle in her hand. Her eyes stared at the sharp tip of the needle as she swallowed a lump in her throat, tripping over her own to feet as she stumbled backwards.

“I’m not hallucinating and I’m not allergic to Tylenol!”

The nurse smiled sweetly, her voice soothing when she spoke.

“Please Miss haruno, calm down. We’re just going to re-do some x-rays to make sure you didn’t hurt your head, by the time you wake up the Tylenol’s effect will be gone and you can leave.”

Backing up against the wall she bit her lip flinching away from the nurses touch but her touch became a vice like grip as she injected the needle into her arm.

Her world became fuzzy as she struggled to see straight and keep her body from collapsing. The grip on her arm faded away as she looked over at the nurse who turned back to the doctor.

She was hallucinating pretty badly, if what she says is true that she’s not allergic to Tylenol for all we know she could have a mental illness. Her records haven’t been updated for quiet a few years, her last shot was when she was six years old.”

Her parents?”

They died that same year.”

That could have subjected a mental illness, it’s best we check.”

Her mouth went dry as she clung to the wall for support, her world was slowly turning back and she could feel herself slipping down the wall until she landed roughly on her bottom.

“I’m..not...hallucinating..”

She whispered, before her heavy eyelids shut and she collapsed onto the floor, knocked out from the drug injected into her.

Fear pounded in her chest as she ran down a long hallway that seemed to stretch on farther and farther, the same wooden doors seemed to repeat over and over. Her legs were sore and she didn’t know how long she had been running until she finally skidded to a stop at the top of the stairs, skipping steps as she darted down them, slipping on the hardwood surface at the end and landing on her bottom. Stricken with fear she scrambled to her feet, clutching something in her right hand as she lunged toward the door and slammed it open. Only to gasp in surprise.

The skies were no longer bright and blue but blood red, and the sun was gone replaced by a black moon which reflected the color of the clouds drifting quickly as if played on fast forward.

There’s no where to run..”

The hiss came as she felt her hair stand on ends. The cold breath on her neck as she felt something on her shoulder.

No!”

She cried out, whipping around so quickly she fumbled falling to the ground and throwing the cross held tightly in her hand at whatever was behind her. They cried out slinking back into the house which was now nothing but darkness as red eyes peered out the door all staring at her. Frozen in fear she sat on her bottom, panting as the tears welled in her vision as the shadow that had been hit by the cross hissed angrily at her and reached out of the house and toward her.

Shooting up from her position her eyes snapped open as she released a blood curdling scream, the cold sweat dripping down her forehead. Glancing around her beating heart settled down, clutching the damp sheets that felt sweaty. Trembling at the images that were now sewn into her mind as she cautiously glanced around the dark room, the shades were pulled and by the lack of light bleeding through them she assumed it was night time now. Meaning she missed work and couldn’t go home just yet, seeing as she didn’t know what lurked on the streets at night and after that dream, she doubted she’d be able to fall asleep without a light on. As the door creaked open she panicked scooting up on her bed and up against the pillows,

“Miss Haruno.”
She jumped startled at the voice but when the lights flicked on she calmed down seeing the nurse standing there with a concerned face.
“Are you alright? I heard you scream and it looks like you’ve just seen a ghost.”
Glancing down at her hands which trembled she nodded quickly,

“Yeah, I’m fine.”
The nurse smiled lightly,
“Can I get you anything? Water, juice?”
“No, thank you.”

The nurse smiled politely and bowed her head,
“Alright if you need anything please just buzz the caller and I’ll come as quickly as I can. Get some rest through.”

Nodding warily she slunk down on the bed, pulling the covers up and bringing her knees to her chest. Closing her eyes she could still see the light from the room against her eyelids, but when the lights shut off her eyes snapped open and she could feel her heart pound in her ears. The monitor on her heart rate increased a bit as she bit her lip, trying to ignore the images and thoughts in her head.

Giving up when she heard something creak, pulling the string above her as the lights flicked on dully. A nightlight provided for her, as comfort came back she snuggled up in the pillows and closed her eyes ignoring the nagging thoughts as she drifted to sleep.

“She can see me.”
The hazel eyed woman huffed,
“See you? That’s impossible.”

Snorting he disregarded her concerned look.
“Well does the fact she freaked out in the hospital room and even jabbing me in the chest telling me to speak so she doesn’t look like a maniac, seems like she can see me.”
“She can touch you as well?”

Heaving a sigh she sunk back into her chair rubbing her temples,
“Wait, who’s watching over her now.”
Her temper ticked slightly, had he abandoned yet another child?!

“Hime-sama, he filed for a temporary replacement. She’s being watched over by another guardian.”
“I see..”
Calming down she rubbed her temples.

“But if you’re saying she can see you, why can’t she see the replacement?”
The raven haired male simply shrugged in response,
“You’re the creator of everything, wouldn’t you know?”

It irked him to see her smile so kindly, at his obliviousness.
“I am but one section of a large community that help keep the world in balance.”
He furrowed his eyebrows,

“So you’re not the ruler?”
“No, I’m only one section, the ruler your speaking of was the creator of mankind it’s self. The Shoudaime.”
The raven haired male sighed, this wasn’t what he really needed to know and before she began to ramble onto things that didn’t concern him, he intervened.

“That doesn’t explain why she can only see me.”
The blonde haired woman folded her hands together and closed her eyes thinking deeply. As her assistant fidgeted for a moment before speaking up.
“We could always replace him.”

“No, now that her future isn’t written we need someone like him watching her.”
His pride was boosted before he faltered for a moment.
“Why don’t you just have another accident for her?”

The woman bit her lip before opening her eyes to stare at him.
“Unfortunately I can’t explain that to you just yet. All you need to know is that she can not die now.”
“What am I supposed to do if she has the ability to see me?”

“Stay close but behind something if she does see you, then you have permission to explain what you are and what you’re doing. You can’t explain anything about her position in the world, just let her know you’re watching over her. Also..”

She trailed of casting a glance to the side, he rose one eyebrow.
“If you do have to tell her about yourself, that could draw attention to them. So if you tell her you’ll need to go into your human form at least once a week..”
“What?”

He snapped, he hated going in his human form, last time he had to do that girls were kissing his feet as if he were the creator of everything. It was disgusting how lowly they subjected themselves to get attention.

“You’re human form no longer has a limit, you’re free to go in and out of it as you please.”

He glanced over at the assistant before hanging his head in defeat.

“Fine. Just one question?”

“Shoot.”

“The people at the hospital, they went to extremes..why?”

“Since her future isn’t written it changes the way people look at you subconsciously. They don’t know it, but opinions are usually based of the subconscious mind and what their future looks like as well as their appearance. Like a drug addict, they would treat them with extreme care but sternness. When she has nothing about her anymore, whether she can be a drug addict in the future or not, opinions are changed. Extremes are taken, in other words..she’s considered an outcast before humans can even think of an opinion.”

He snorted and shoved his hands into his white khaki shorts before leaving the room in a huff.
