Chapter One: Life of a Gem
The whistle sounded off letting all the witches and wizards know that the Hogwarts Express was about to leave.
"Okay I need to go now. Bye mom! Bye dad!" Sapphire waved to her mom and dad.
"Have fun sweetie and take care of Twilight!" Her mother yelled pointing to the cat carrier.
"I will!" Sapphire yelled back.
"And behave this year! I don't want another letter from the school saying that you were running around the Great Hall with the Weasley twins disrupting dinner!" Her dad yelled.
"I'll try to behave!" Sapphire smiled as she boarded the train. She looked at the window as the train began to move and waved at her parents until she couldn't see them anymore.
"Another year at Hogwarts, better make the most of it! Right Twilight?" Sapphire looked down at her cat in the cage. Twilight was a black skinny cat that Sapphire's parents had brought her when she was in her first year."
Sapphire looked around to see if any of her friends were there. She immediately saw Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil.
"Hey girls!" Sapphire said beamed to the girls. They both turned in surprise to Sapphire.
"Sapphire! I missed you this whole summer!" Lavender hugged her. "You're hair got so long! Did it get more shiny?"
"No, it's just the silver." Sapphire pushed her long silver hair behind her.
"You got taller too! Wow!" Parvati said.
"Thanks! I'm gonna go try to find a seat." Sapphire smiled.
"Okay. See you when we get to the grounds. Hey, we should get together for the first Hogsmeade trip."
"Sure! Bye." Sapphire waved and continued to walk down the aisle.
"Heyyyy beautiful!" Sapphire turned around and it was Dean Thomas with his best friend Seamus Finnigan.
"Dean, shut up! That's not how you treat a lady!" Seamus looked at Sapphire. "Need help with your bags, miss?"
"Um..thanks guys." Sapphire smiled at them. "So how was your summer?"
"It was boring. I missed your beautiful smile." Dean said.
"Dean!" Seamus put his hand over Dean's mouth. "Sorry 'bout him."
Sapphire laughed. "That's okay. I'm gonna go try to find a seat."
"Ok, see you later my love." Dean said.
Sapphire rolled her eyes. As she continued down the aisle, she felt two elbows on either side of her on top of her shoulders.
"How's it hanging Sapph?" George Weasley said.
"Yea, how's it going, Sapphie?" Fred Weasley said on the other side.
Sapphire smiled. "Hi boys. How was your summer?"
"The usual. You gonna stir some trouble with us this year?" Fred said.
"You know I am." Sapphire gave a devilish grin.
"All right then! We'll give you the plans next week! See you around." Fred and George walked off with their friend Lee Jordon.
Sapphire walked on. She really wanted to sit down but people kept saying hi to her.
Finally, she went into the compartment where Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger were sitting.
"How many people can you say hi to in one day?" Sapphire sat down. "Hi guys!"
"Hello!" Harry said.
"Hi." Ron said, keeping his gaze on her.
"Hi." Hermione said shortly. Not looking up from her book.
"I hope everyone had a fun summer. How was your's Hermione?" Sapphire said.
"Fine." Hermione said, not looking at Sapphire.
"Hermione, don't you think you're being a bit rude?" Ron said.
"I am not rude, I am just trying to read."
"It's okay Ron, she likes to read." Sapphire smiled.
All of a sudden, the compartment door opened and there was Pansy Parkinson standing at the doorway.
"I thought I heard Sapphire's annoying voice." Pansy smirked.
"It's called knocking, Pansy. Learn how to." Hermione said, finally looking up from her book.
"It's called get a life geek." Pansy said back.
"Okay whatever. What do you want?" Sapphire said.
Before Pansy could answer, Draco and his "body guards" came to the door.
"What is this? A party? We didn't invite you!" Ron said.
"Weasley, you couldn't afford a party even if you wanted one." Draco smirked.
"What do you want Malfoy?" Harry asked.
"Well I just came to tell you about a secret task the Dark Lord has just given my father."
"Why would we care?"
"I don't know, maybe you would want to know what it feels like to be important for once in your life, Potter."
"What kind of task?" Hermione asked.
"Unicorns. I bet you know all about them don't you, Mudblood?"
Ron stood up. "Don't you ever call her…"
"What about Unicorns?" Sapphire interrupted. Ron and Draco both looked at her. She just looked down at her hands.
"What?" Draco said.
"What about the Unicorns? What do you need from them?" Sapphire still looked at her hands.
Draco looked taken aback. What did this girl want?
"Something about Unicorn blood. Why do you want to know?" Draco crossed his arms.
"You don't have to…you're not gonna…you're not gonna kill one are you? Sapphire looked up at Draco. Draco looked into her blue eyes. Her eyes had sadness in them. He never noticed how beautiful Sapphire really was…
Everyone looked at Sapphire then Draco. Even Hermione stopped reading.
"I have to do what I have to do." Draco kept looking into her eyes.
"But you can't kill them!" Sapphire got on her feet. "It's wrong!"
"What is wrong with you?" Pansy asked. "You're crazier than that Luna Lovegood girl!"
"Pansy, shut up for a second!" Draco said. "Sapphire…"
"It's wrong." Sapphire said still staring in Draco's eyes.
"I'm gonna go…" Draco walked down the aisle.
"Draco, what's wrong? Wait!" Pansy ran behind him.
"Sapphire, are you okay?" Ron and Hermione asked with concern.
"I'm…fine." Sapphire looked at Harry who looked at Ron. "I'm probably just tired. Long day." She smiled a fake smile.
Sapphire sat and stared at the window for the rest of the ride, not saying a word.
Ironically, so did Draco…
Wow! I can't wait to see what happens next when they actually go to Hogwarts. What's up with Sapphire and Draco? You gotta wait for the next chapter! Remember to review!
