The Secret.
Chapter 1 – I need your help.
The night was dark and cold, the outlaws were sleeping soundly as Allan crept up on them, he walked into the camp as quietly as he could heading straight towards Robin.
I can’t do it, he told himself, but he knew if he didn’t the consequences would be very severe.
“Robin,” he whispered, tapping the man lightly on the shoulder.
He was up in a flash, grabbing his sword from beside his bed, ready to attack the intruder. “Allan?” he asked in surprise.
“Robin, please stay quiet and come with me,” the traitor whispered.
Considering Allan’s request all his instincts told him he shouldn’t go, but his curiosity wanted him to, and so he did.
Robin nodded, and the two men snuck out of camp, careful not to wake the others.
The two men walked in silence, the only noises were their feet crunching on the fallen leaves and their shallow breaths that spread small clouds of smoke into the freezing air.
“What do you want Allan?” Robin asked when they had finally stopped in a small clearing.
“I want…” Allan began, “I need; your help.”
Back at camp Will had woken at the sound of voices. But when he opened his eyes he could see no one, and as he looked around all the beds looked full, all except from Robins.
Where would he have gone this time of night, Will wondered confused, and deciding to investigate, he got up silently and made his was through the trees, following the pathway where the leaves had recently been trodden down.
As he reached the clearing his he frowned,
What’s Allan doing here, and why’s Robin with him?
Taking a place where he could see and hear everything, Will settled down into the foliage, waiting to find out what was going on.
“Why can’t you do it alone?” asked Robin.
“I need your help, you don’t need to tell anyone else, not he gang, I know they don’t trust me. I’m not being funny but you do owe me.”
Robin scoffed, “How do I owe you?”
“Well I helped when Nottingham was going to be razed to the ground. And I didn’t tell The Sheriff all the entry point to the castle, I left the main ones open.” Allan tried to explain.
“Ok, I’ll help. But just this once.” Robin agreed, and with that they walked away from Will, deeper into the forest, and further away from camp.
