Part 8 – The Ending.

On the way back to the camp Much and Robin were silent, leaving the guards attire in an alley and making it the rest of the way with their hoods up.

“Not being funny but what was that all about?” Allan asked bluntly.

“My, my child.”

“What?” Will asked in surprise.

“Ava, Marian and I had a child before I left for the Holy Land but she, she died a month after birth.” The sadness that Robin had felt before visiting Marian threatened to envelope him again, but he pushed the thoughts away.

Much continued to explain what had happened for Robin, knowing his friend couldn’t go on.

“I’m sorry.” John murmured.

Everyone nodded and the camp went respectfully silent.

“I’m sorry Robin, but what’s going to happen about Marian, the children and I?” Allan broke the silence.

“You can stay here,” Robin smiled.

“Really, we can be in Robin Hood’s gang?” Harry jumped up, excited.

Robin nodded, happy that at least one family in this world could be together.
