Last section, I'm glad you got this far. Maybe the reason I like Mr. Molengard will make themselves apparent now.

My Dear Watson

“Why did you kill her?” Watson asked suddenly gesturing to the newspaper. Sherlock looked down on it with distaste. “Dramatic effect I suppose, though really it was a little too late for that, still, maybe your death will be better knowing you could have stopped those murders.” Tick-tock… “Why?” Watson’s words came out in a whisper his eyes seemed clouded with grief. For the first time Sherlock seemed to break through his ever polite façade. “Why?!” he shouted voice rising angrily. “Because of the prison you put me in, and the credit you stole.” He edged closer a mad glint in his eyes. “You deemed me a hero and with that you made me who I was not! Look at me! I’m not this creature doomed to… to… to be some good respecting citizen slave to the calling. This isn’t me!” Watson’s words came out quietly but assuredly, “you’re insane.” Sherlock smiled again this time though with a maddened look. “Most geniuses are not understood in their own time, but one last question.” He lowered his voice. “Why didn’t you tell anyone?” Watson looked at him sadly. “Because you are my best friend, this is my payment now were even.” Sherlock laughed a high pitched laugh which sounded for all the world good natured, as if some one had told him the most delightful joke. “Good bye, my dear Watson.” Tick-tock…

Two new deaths appeared in the headings that of Dr. Watson and the maid of Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock was found dead at the bank of a river slashed at the throat. The police assumed the murderer had gotten wind the great detective was now on the case. Interesting to note was that a Mr. Molengard suggested that Holmes’s death looked more like a suicide, he was largely scorned at. Sherlock Holmes was buried beside his dear friend Dr. Watson. England settled down as the murders stopped and Sherlock’s stories were passed down generation to generation. Strangely true, the grandfather clock in the room of Baker Street never worked after Dr. Watson’s death. And Sherlock remained a hero.

The End
