I do not own Final Fantasy X-2. I do have the game though, nn This story is based on Ikonopeiston's The Change, which is based on a news story, which is based on... God knows what. This is my first X-2 story here... everyone hated on my FF4 stories TT No I'm not trying to artifically inflate my word count... ON TO THE STORY!
Rainbow Transcendence. The new in thing. What it was even Leblanc didn't know. There were a lot of new in things now that Sin had been defeated, but this Rainbow Transcendence thing was very elusive. She was in her boudoir, seated before her vanity. While staring at herself was certainly a worthy way to wile away her time, she tapped her foot angrily and waited for Agnes to get back.
Agnes had been a potion maker before the Calm came, at which point it became far more lucrative to traffic party drugs. Which would be how she came into LeBlanc's acquaintance.
A knock at the bedroom door announced her return. Well if it wasn't her, someone was getting the heel.
"Byelleeee!"
It was her. The lithe 30 year old flounced into the room, black hair flying wildly. She carried a small oak chest, which meant her mission had been a success. Agnes kneeled on the floor before Leblanc and sat the chest down. Then she sat motionless and stared into space.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Open it!" Leblanc ordered.
Agnes started. "Sorry boss." she opened the chest.
Leblanc's shielded her eyes as the shining rainbow glow hit them. She leaned forward though. Inside the trunk were vials. One was very large. Some were impossibly tiny. There was a red one, a blue one, a yellow one, etc. The one that caught Leblanc's eye was a small spiraled bottle that contained all of the colors, every single one, shifting in tint and shades. She reached out and grabbed it without thinking.
"Good choice, boss." Agnes nodded approvingly.
Leblanc gave her a rather contemptuous look. She hated to display any ignorance, but it was really quite stupid to drink potions without knowing their effects. Not after what had happened at Leofloren's party.
"So what exactly are the effects of Rainbow Transcendence?" she asked.
"Leofloren just said that it would make your love life do a complete 180." Agnes said, smiling. Was it her imagination, or was that smile somehow knowing, sinister? Oh well. Leblanc had never gotten anywhere by being too cautious. She popped the unicorn cap off of the vial and swigged.
Colors swirled psychedelically behind her eyelids. Strange, appealing smells hit her nostrils. Sensations wriggled in her brain. She could hear the colors, smell them, taste them, see them more than ever before.
She gasped “The colors, Agnes, the colors!”
Agnes nodded. “Pretty intense, huh?”
That was an understatement. Leblanc had never felt so alive! She wanted to sing and skip and smell the flowers! She looked around her. Leblanc had always loved rich colors, but now the hues were unbelievable! Everything was deeper, brighter, backlit with light and darkness. She stared at her reflection. She veritably glowed. She’d never looked so cute and sexy.
Even Agnes looked better. Before Leblanc had always seen her as mousy and skinny and a potions geek. Now she just looked sleek and, well, sexy. When Agnes grinned and leaned forward, she was thrilled to find a shock of attraction run through her body. If this was what Rainbow did for someone as ugly as Agnes, just wait till she got a hold of Nooj! She couldn’t wait.
“Agnes, go turn the commsphere on.”
“Calling Nooj?” she asked slyly.
“It’s none of your business! Now get the damned commsphere on!”
Leblanc quickly reapplied her make-up and adjusted her clothes. When she was sure she was at her best, she walked over to the commsphere on the far side of the room. It was attached to the wall at her face level, because it would be unflattering if it aimed from below or above.
After two seconds of waiting her beloved Noojie-woojie’s face popped up. He looked mildly annoyed.
“What is it this time, Leblanc?” he asked wearily.
Leblanc just stared at him, shocked.
“If you don’t have anything to say, I’m hanging up.”
“Uhhhh—“
Her Nooj. Where was he?
“Noojie! What’ve they done to youuuuuu?!” she wailed.
He made an exasperated noise and killed the connection. Her. Nooj. Had been ugly! His fine, beautiful, and yet manly and strong face looked craggy, too stern, and lacking softness and subtlety. He looked like a caveman! His silky long curls looked like repulsive sausages! And his glasses…instead of giving him an intelligent, scholarly look, made him look like a potions geek.
Agnes ran forward to catch Leblanc as she fell to the ground, garments swirling.
