Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or any of the characters.
Notes: This is a one shot that I came up with while in the shower, yeah I know weird place to get an idea. I wanted to share it simply because it amused me greatly, the idea is simply and sweet. Please don't kill me over the format, the idea came from "Twas the night Before Christmas". It's not mentioned in the story but I'll point it out Sakura is about 20.
Sitting on her couch she was getting ready for bed, visions of new kunai’s danced in her head. Getting up ready to sleep there was a knock at the door she dreaded to see. Who could it be? Shizune, Tsunade, or even Naruto ‘Frankly I don’t care I’m too sleepy to entertain,’ she said with a whisper.
Reaching the door she opened it quickly to see a man dressed all in red, her eyes took a second glance but to her dismay he wore a mask. ANBU she thought and before she could squeak the man chimed up with ‘We need to speak’. She motioned for him to come in seeing as it was cold.
‘What brings you here tonight? I thought ANBU didn’t work on Christmas eve.’
‘Normally we don’t but this is a special occasion, in fact your presence is greatly needed.’
Her eye brow perked up. They needed her now in the dead of night? ‘It must be something important if I’m needed now.’ Looking up at the red clad man she asked rather abruptly ‘can I at least change, seeing as I’m not really fit to go out?’ To her surprise she could have sworn that the man in the mask distinctively smiled.
‘No what you have on is perfectly fine, no one cares, no one will mind.’ She was a little afraid to what he had meant, seeing as she was wearing a stolen Jounin shirt, small black shorts and thigh high socks. With a squeak in her voice, ‘Gah!’ as he came around behind her with out a sound. ‘I have been asked to put this on you, I hope you don’t mind. Trust me no harm will come to you, but the place is a secret.’ It was a long red ribbon and she knew what he meant, blindfolded to keep the secret kept.
‘Oh, alright but no funny business, I mean it.’ She eyed at him with caution. He nodded placing the ribbon over her eyes, unknown to her he was really surprised. She trusted him even if she didn’t know, who the masked man was behind her.
With a quick few seals they were off in a flash, teleportation a great way to travel. She had gone from one warm room to another, in a moment in time. She noted it was dark even with the ribbon. Now she wondered if it was really safe. Before she could speak up the ribbon was removed a loud crack in the air caused her to squeak as the lights came on friendly faces around her.
“Marry Christmas, Sakura-chan!” It came from a boy who sat at a table. His blond hair stood up on end, his eyes full of joy. She knew in an instant what had happened, a surprise Christmas party without her knowledge. As she looked around for what that sound was it was a popper filled with confetti. Sasuke sat there was a tiny smile, and commented on her lack of attire. Red blush in her face she turned around to a familiar face, a happy crease was upon his eyes. She could tell he was pleased at the site, he was the man in red with the mask. Before she could protest she was being ushered to the table with friends.
Treats and Candies were to be had, a small cake was placed before them with a tiny candle lit from a ‘tiny fire ball’. She giggled as the Uchiha did so, he had a talent that was for sure. She had to ask ‘What’s with the mask?’ The three men laughed in time,
‘Would you have come if it you knew it was me?’ Her cheeks were pink in color, knowing full well that she would have with out trouble. He was after all the man she trusted, with far more then just her life. At this time she knew that he had recognized the shirt she wore, it was his that she stole before. Not that he minded, he thought it was cute after all she was his in all matter of speaking.
The night wore on as they partied, Naruto and Sasuke had to much sake… Sakura’s face was more then red after the two boys shared a kiss. A familiar shoulder leaned into her as she looked up she couldn’t help but smile, a small kiss on the forehead she already knew he was also embarrassed from the boys display. ‘Nice shirt’ is all he said, getting up and walking away. She wondered what to do, but with out delay she too got up and left the boys to their own devices. Looking up at the man in red, she felt her nose wrinkle from the cold. The door was open and he was making ready to go, he gestured toward her and she nodded. Taking his hand, he whisked her away back into her apartment in a blink of an eye. Her nose was red from the cold, he kissed it gently. She knew what was in store taking his hand she said with a whisper,
“Marry Christmas.” Leading him off to the bedroom, all that was heard in the dead of night was her giggling with mad delight.
Marry Christmas and Happy New Year.
