The Band from Lazy Town

Chapter 1. The Idea and Rehearsals

Normally they would be playing but for some reason the five friends 17 year olds Stephanie, Trixie, Stingy, Pixel and Ziggy were lounging around on a bench trying to think of something to do “I’m bored” Stingy whined as the others groaned for what felt like the one millionth time “we know Stingy and we’re trying to think of something to do” Trixie said as she rested her head against Stephanie’s shoulder “maybe we can play basketball” Pixel suggested “nah we played that already” Stephanie said. They all sighed when Ziggy suddenly got an idea “I’ve got it, I’ve got it. Let’s make a band” he said, Trixie sat up “yeah that’s a great idea” she said “well done Ziggy” Stephanie said “what do you say Stingy?” Pixel asked him “well…only if I can play my electric guitar” he replied “done” Ziggy said. Pixel then had another idea “I have an idea; Stephanie can be on the vocals and the bass guitar and we’ll be back up vocals when needed, Trixie you can be DJ the music, I’ll do the keyboard, Stingy you can be on your electric guitar and Ziggy you be on the drums” he explained “yeah” everyone agreed.

Then Stephanie frowned “guys, where are we going practice?” she asked them and then they all frowned in thought “oh I know, how about my garage” Trixie suggested “yeah” the others agreed, so they all got up and went to get their things needed.

The five friends were in Trixie’s garage which was rather spacious; Ziggy was seated at his drum kit, Stingy tuning the strings on his guitar as was Stephanie, Pixel was warming up on the keyboard and Trixie was mixing music. Stephanie finished tuning her bass and looked at the others “what song should we do first?” she asked them “how about Untouched” Trixie suggested “okay” the others agreed and they began to practice.

Sportacus had just finished doing his soccer training and decided to see what the kids were up to “I wonder what the kids are up to” he wondered, he back flipped and landed in front of a wall “Door” he shouted, the door went down and he flipped outside and crouched down pulling out his spyglass. But there was no sign of the children anywhere “where are the kids?” he wondered out aloud, frowning he decided to go find them “Ladder” he called out. The ladder fell down and Sportacus began to climb down until he reached the ground, he began running and flipping trying to find them but alas there was no sign “that’s strange” he said. As he was nearing Trixie’s house he heard the sound of music and wondered if they were there, flipping over he landed only to notice the garage door was closed but the side door was open.

Running over he stopped and poked his head inside, there they were; Pixel on the keyboard, Ziggy on the drums, Stingy on the electric guitar, Trixie standing next to Stephanie on a mike backing up the vocals and Stephanie on the microphone and bass guitar

The five cheered “that was great guys” Stephanie said “what should we sing now?” Stingy asked them “there’s this song my cousin likes called Secrets of Love but it’s a duet” Pixel said “hi guys what are you doing?” asked a new voice, everyone turned to see Sportacus standing at the side door “Sportacus” Stephanie said as she put down her guitar and ran over to him hugging him. Sportacus laughed as Stephanie pulled back “we’ve made a band” Ziggy replied, Stephanie looked at Pixel “what were you saying about that duet?” she asked him “Secrets of Love is a duet, problem is: if you’re going sing Sandra’s lines who’s gonna sing DJ Bobo’s he’s a guy” Pixel replied “Sportacus can sing DJ Bobo’s lines” Trixie said.

The others cheered “one problem Trixie: I don’t know the words” Sportacus said, Trixie grinned “I have the words in my room be right back” she said as she jumped up and ran to and through another door which linked the garage to the house “that girl has everything doesn’t she” Stingy said “yeah pretty much” Ziggy replied. Stephanie dragged Sportacus over to the microphone that Trixie had just abandoned and sat him down as Trixie came running back “got it” she said as she ran over and stopped in front of Sportacus holding out the sheets “thanks Trixie” he said taking them from her, he read over his lines as everyone took their places “okay I’m done” he said putting the words down “don’t worry Sportacus this is just practice, if you or Stephanie forget the words we’ll just stop and start again” Pixel reassured him. Sportacus nodded and then they began

They all laughed “you did it Sportacus and without making a mistake” Stephanie said hugging him “I have a good memory” Sportacus told her as she let go “Ziggy do you have a song request?” Pixel asked him “well there is this one song but Sportacus has to sing it with Stephanie singing the chorus” he replied “we can do that” Trixie said “what’s the song called?” Sportacus asked him “Happy Ending” Ziggy replied “the one by MIKA I have lyrics here somewhere” Stephanie said abandoning the microphone and went over to the bench and flipped through the different songs she had until she found the one she was looking for.

She went back over and handed them to Sportacus who began to read really fast, Stephanie went back to stand behind her microphone and Sportacus put the lyrics down “alright let’s sing” he said

Now that’s a classic” Trixie said “guys leave him alone” Stephanie said as everyone got ready to sing, Sportacus walked over and stood in front of the garage door “Sportacus is the audience” Ziggy said as everyone laughed and they began to play and sing

Everyone applauded this time but then Sportacus’ crystal began going off “someone’s in trouble, bye guys” he said as he flipped over to the door and disappeared “bye” they called after him.

Mayor Milford Meanswell was on his way to the town hall when he saw Sportacus putting up posters “Sportacus what are those?” Milford asked coming over to see the poster the above-average hero had just put up “they’re posters Mayor. The kids have formed a band and they are playing tonight in the park” Sportacus replied as Milford read the poster
