DRAGON BOOSTER BELONGS TO THE STORY HAT

Guardian of Fear

Artha was pacing. Pacing, pacing and pacing. Lance was dizzy. Dizzy, dizzy and dizzy. Why? Artha was pacing, Lance was watching him, therefore getting dizzy. And all of them were in the Paynn Citadel. No, they were not in the (supposedly hidden) prison. In fact, they were in the living room. If you could call that a living room. No wonder Moordryd was dark and nasty! His whole house, family and life were! Lance sighed. Artha was seriously bugging him off. Pacing really wasn’t part of his nature and it only meant something was wrong. Very wrong. A head peeked into the room. An oval head.

“Guys?” Shakily said Parm.

The brothers’ heads snapped in his direction. Artha had an expression of hope and Lance one of joy. The older brother looked at Moordryd like a rival, some sort of friend, the youngest saw in him the perfect oldest brother. They made it sound so simple.

“I think we’ve got it.”

He left the room with the two following him. They walked through the hollow hallways of the Citadel. Lance noticed Artha was getting impatient. A bit more and smoke would come out from his ears. He hurried and joined Parm in the lead. Artha just wasn’t trustworthy. Parm, Drakkus (or should we say Word Paynn), Mortis (or should we say Connor Penn), and Stewardd along with others had been working on a way to locate Moordryd. Armeaggadeon last words were dark. Wraiths. He betted that the only one happy was Paynn. Of course. After a good fifteen minute walk they arrived at the control room. Tools were everywhere and bits of metal scattered on the floor. The two elders were arguing in the middle of the room. They looked like children. The crew leaders and Sentrus, which represented the Academy, watched the scene with interest. It’s not every day you see a cat fight between two sixty years old men. Hopefully, Parm stopped the fight before it became serious. The audience complained. They were about to start mag-blasting each other.

“Will you two just stop? You look like kids.”

The elders muttered something under their breath. Definitively little kids. Parm rolled his eyes.

“Shall we?”

They nodded and Stewardd cleared his throat.

“It took a while but we’ve done it. This device,”

He showed them a large multicolored ring.

“This is a locator. A very special locator. It not only locates but it also transports the one that uses it to where the target is.”

Parmon’s eyes shined in pride.

“It’s my new baby! With the chromosomal data of Moordryd, we can locate him and be transported to where he is!”

Lance had a question mark over his head. Parm began babbling over the components of his new toy and soon, almost everybody had a similar question over their heads.

“Parmon?” Said Stewardd. “You know as well as me that they don’t have our knowledge in this area. No offense guys.”

Word Paynn nodded.

“Basically, we put some of Moordryd’s DNA in here, a selected team holds the ring. We press the button and the team appears within 500 meters of Moordryd.” Said Connor.

“Now, the best team would be: Artha, Lance, Parm, and Kitt. Any problems?”

“I want to go.”

Cain just stared darkly into the eyes of everybody. He had been quite affected by Moordryd’s disappearance. It was scaring Lance, but Cain would immediately say something about cookies and everything would seem normal.

“Okay. Artha, Lance, Kitt, Parmon and Cain, go pick your dragons. The others seal the room.”

Everyone rushed into their posts, preparing themselves for the crazy thing that would soon happen. Artha’s rescuing team arrived and slowly, almost fearfully, grabbed the ring. Artha nodded at his father. The button was pressed. The machine was auctioned. A blinding light filled the room. It had started.
