From Soul to Mind
A SasuSaku Story
Hello, my name is Sakura. I am one of the undead… yes, you heard me right, I am undead. I died in the year of 1596, which was also the year of my 17th birthday. Heave, really, is not all it’s cracked up to be after all. I mean, seriously, with all those miserable people everywhere, trying t o find loved ones they haven’t seen in ages, since they passed before them, little children crying over their parents down on earth, and the elderly people sitting next the Seeing Well, which allows us spirits to take a look at what the person we want to see the most is doing.
For me, all these things bring back memories I wish I didn’t have. I never want to look back ever again; I just have whatever is laid out before me, the path we wish to take. We can choose to move onward, and be born back into the world, losing most of our recollections of our previous life until we die again; or we can ask “Him” to let us come back down, as an undead. I obviously want to choose the undead. I don’t want to be vulnerable, which was the only reason I died in my previous life. I was officially tired of waiting.
I approached the doors to “His” rooms. The opened willingly at my touch and I stepped into the bright light of “His” throne room. “He” sat looking at me with a stare that seemed to bore into my very being. He cleared his throat. “What do you want Sakura?” I swallowed any smart mouth remark that I was going to make to “Him” before I spoke my answer.
“I want to become and Undead… your majesty.” “He” cleared his throat and looked back down at me with those steely eyes.
“Hm... an interesting request Sakura; one that I haven’t had in forty years, to be exact. Are you sure you want to do this? You know as well as anybody that you can’t take back what you have chose.” I nodded at his worried face.
“I am positive.” “He” sighed in defeat and cast his hand above my head.
“Take this body, and cast in it this soul, she will now become the undead.”
With that done, I suddenly felt like I was flying. My soul flew out of the castle and towards the Seeing Well, where my soul stopped slightly, but then broke through the barrier protecting us from the human world. I floated for a while, observing the world before me, before “He” kicked my soul into high gear. My destiny was now chosen, but what would happen, is yet to be decided…
