Tiana neatly slid the nail of her forefinger along the edge crease of the ‘elaborate’ drawn on the paper-wrapped prism. Finding its edge expectantly split in half, she lightly tapped the other side of the prism, making it pop out a disk case. She sighed at the idle writing on the disk as she opened its case, took said disk out and made her way to the player she had borrowed from her direct superior, Fate T. Harlaown.

Analysing the player’s face for a while, she finally found a slot she was looking for and inserted the disk in. She then sighed again as she pressed on the play button and sat back to relax.

The familiar hologram screen sprang to life before her; and she found herself not having enough will to force down the growing smile on her face as a familiar blue-haired girl appeared with that familiar curvy grin of hers, wearing an…unfamiliar -

“Hat? What a funny hat,” Tiana remarked, brows furrowed in half amusement and half in disbelief. Looks cute on her though…

“Hey Tia! Like my hat? Nanoha-san gave it to me as an early…” Subaru paused as she tried to recall the phrase Nanoha had mentioned.“‘Kurisu…masu purezento?’ Anyways, she told me that during this time at her home planet, they celebrate by having family and friend gatherings and giving ‘purezento’ to each other. And that there’s this really big tree,” here Subaru emphasised the size by spreading her arms apart. “That they have to put their ‘purezento’ under before the person they’re giving to can accept it. But Nanoha ignored that, because she thought the wait was unnecessary. And…” Subaru’s forehead creased as she tried to remember another thing Nanoha had told her. “Oh yeah, Nanoha-san told me Yagami-taichou is planning to hold an reunion in a few days time…so it probably be tomorrow when this reaches you…? Please come, Tia?

If I can be bothered, Tiana lazily thought.

“During a recent mission, I’ve saved two girls. They’re grateful and happy right now. They were travelling to see their friends that lived an ocean away…well they’re there now and…” Subaru took a deep breath, causing the Santa hat on her head to fall and cover her shining eyes. Pulling the hat back, she continued, “I miss you Tia…”

Tiana looked over to the door, as if expecting eavesdroppers or people to suddenly walk in before turning back to the hologram screen; blushing hotly.

“So please come to the reunion Yagami-taichou will be holding?”

“I…” And felt her cheeks grow hotter when she caught herself speaking out loud. Giving another look at the door, she tried to avoid Subaru’s eyes when she turned around again.

“Please, okay Tia?

Tiana contemplated.

“And take care, okay?”

The hologram faded just as the door budged along with a knocking sound.

Tiana jumped. Hand flying to her chest, head twisting around. “C-Come in!”

The door creaked opened, and in walked Fate. She blinked at the flustered expression Tiana held before asking, “Did I startle you?”

“N-Not at all.” Tiana gave a faux-laugh before slowly removing the hand over her calming heart.

“How’s Subaru?”

So much for calming heart.

“E-Eh? Um, same as usual.”

Fate coughed down the giggle that threatened to spill out of her. “Hayate plans on holding an reunion with everyone from Riot Force 6, it’ll go for a couple of days so in a few hours, if you want to come, have your duffel bag with you at the main meeting place. We’ll teleport from there.”

“Um…”

Fate looked at her in concern. “Is something the matter?”

Tiana slightly shook her head. “No…it’s nothing. Thank you for the notification.”

Fate gave a smile before leaving the room, politely shutting the door quietly.

“I miss you Tia…”

Tiana half shrugged to herself. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to go.

And started to pack.

I might continue this when I feel like it. lol I wrote this up ‘cause I wanted to write a Santa hat wearing Subaru – and to tease Tiana.
