6 hours later…

Nita looked around the battleground. Many of her wolves were dead and badly injured, she, Bluestar and Creek were the only ones left and Rain had left the battle with surviving wolves. The shadow pack only had a few weak pups left and their alpha that was hiding. The pups ran away at the site of Creek and it had seemed that they had won, but it wasn’t over yet.

‘ You seemed to have defeated my troops, but you still have me to deal with.’ A dark coloured wolf then stepped out from the shadows. He had completely black eyes and dark purple coat that had a half black tail.

‘ Zack?’ Bluestar asked.

‘ You thought that you killed me, but I was brought back. Now its just us.’ Zack said. He then jumped towards his mother as she jumped towards him. When they landed back on the ground, Zack had a slight scar on his side while Bluestar had been cut all over her left side. She then collapsed and Creek ran to her. Zack then attacked him and he fell down beside Bluestar, dead. She watched with her only working eye and slowly closed it.

‘ You killed them!’ Nita shouted. Her eyes glowed again as she ran up for an attack on Zack. He then turned around and attacked too. She then bit his neck and he started to choke, but he managed to bite the back of her throat and pull her off leaving deep scars in his skin. He threw her away and turned to Bluestar and Creek. Nita then jumped onto his back and treated him like the moose, but he was stronger than the moose and threw her off. She then hit a rock with her back and fell down. Zack then walked towards her, but he was suddenly attacked by a black blur. Since Zack didn’t know who his attacker was, he didn’t know what to do. Nita opened her eyes and saw the fight, Zack was actually losing! After a few more minutes of battle, Zack fell to the ground with many parts of his body injured so badly that he couldn’t use them again. The blur didn’t have any marks, but Nita couldn’t focus her vision.

Nita opened her eyes and saw Rain hovering over her.

‘ Rain?’ Nita asked.

‘ You’re alive! We thought that you were dead!’ Rain said. Nita slowly stood up to find herself in a cave. She walked outside and saw most of the pack except for Bluestar and Creek. She then saw her saviour sitting on a rock above the pack. She focused her vision and saw Rex!

‘ Dad?’ She asked.

‘ Nita? Nita! I thought that you were dead!’ Rex shouted as he jumped from the rock and ran over to her. He nuzzled her and she nuzzled back.

‘ How did you kill Zack?’ Nita asked.

‘ I was concerned for you and that’s what gave me the strength to do it, but I need to take you home.’ Rex said as he stopped nuzzling.

‘ I can’t go home. I have to protect this pack with Rain as the alpha. I’m sorry Dad, but I have to.’ Nita said.

‘ I understand. If you want to stay, then I’m not stopping you.’ Rex said.
