Detective Conan: All I Want For Christmas Is You
Chapter 1: ShinichiRan
“G’night…Ran…” the “famous detective” muttered before falling asleep because of all the beer bottles that were strewn all over his desk.
“Oyasumi, Ran-neechan. Merry Christmas!” Conan replied with a big smile on his face, wrapping his new scarf around his neck.
Conan’s once bright blue and excited eyes dimmed down to a dark blue as Ran left the room, her slow footsteps on the stairs echoing.
He knew it.
Something was wrong with Ran. She didn’t seem very energetic…
Oh, but he knew why.
Shinichi couldn’t come.
Nope, Shinichi couldn’t come and visit her, even just for a moment, even though it was Christmas.
And Ran was sad about him not being able to come.
It was confirmed when Conan passed Ran’s room.
He could hear her.
Crying.
Over him. She couldn’t see him, Shinichi, at all. Never ever, because he was always on a case.
Yet he could see her everyday.
He hated to see her beautiful face look so sad for someone like him.
So he grabbed his thick jacket and walked out, his destination set…

Ran felt a cold breeze through her silk pajamas and opened her eyes. Didn’t she close her window?
What she saw, though, was certainly not her ceiling.
“Yo, Ran! You were sleeping pretty soundly, so I didn’t want to wake you up.”
“SHINICHI! I-Is that really you? I thought you couldn’t come! What are you doing here?”
“Yes, it’s me, and I couldn’t come, but that four-eyed kid told me you were missing me a lot and wanted me to visit for Christmas.” Shinichi grinned.
“Of course! I…I missed you…so much! Where have you b-been…?” Ran asked, tears coming to her eyes.
“Raaan…it’s Christmas, don’t cry!” Shinichi cried out. He grabbed her quickly and gave her a hug.
Ran’s eyes widened, but she smiled and hugged Shinichi back, shivering a bit.
Now, don’t understand! She was shivering because she was cold, and Shinichi definitely noticed.
“Here, Ran, I made some hot chocolate.” Shinichi said, shoving a white cup filled with steaming brown liquid into Ran’s hands.
“Thank you!” Ran replied to Shinichi, giving him a smile, before blowing at it and taking a sip.
“N-no problem…” Shinichi answered, blushing a bit.
And it was then that Ran finally noticed her…position…with Shinichi.
He was sitting on the sidewalk, his feet on the pavement, with his arms around Ran’s waist, and Ran sitting partially in his lap.
She darkened a bright red and looked away, afraid that Shinichi would see her blush and misunderstand.
Snow began to fall from the sky and Shinichi and Ran looked up.
“It’s snowing…how pretty…” Ran whispered into the air.
“Yeah…” Shinichi said. He wasn’t looking at the snow, though, he was looking at Ran.
“Ah, it’s 12. Merry Christmas, Ran.” Shinichi said, looking into Ran’s eyes…
“Shinichi…”
The two’s faces inched closer and closer…
“Ran...I-I…uhm…I love you…” Shinichi murmured against Ran’s lips, a blush decorating his face.
“Really?”
“Yeah…”
“I love you too…Shinichi…” Ran answered, as the two finally closed the distance.
After a moment, the two pulled away, a bit breathless.
Shinichi wrapped his arms a bit tighter around her and pulled her up before letting her go.
“I’m sorry, Ran, I have to go…but I want you to know, I will always love you. Forever.”
“I’ll wait for you, Shinichi, because I love you…”
Shinichi pressed another soft kiss to Ran’s lips, and she closed her eyes, kissing him back, before he pulled away and ran off.
Ran opened her eyes, her eyes much brighter than earlier.
‘Shinichi. I’ll wait forever for you…but don’t take that long.’ Ran thought to herself, a smile on her face.
Her fingers went to her lips and she blushed quite audibly, recalling the kisses and how wonderful it was, to let Shinichi know her feelings and have them returned…
She went back inside, taking her empty cup with her.
As she passed a mirror, something around her neck glittered.
“Eh?”
She turned to face the mirror and on her neck was a very beautiful necklace with a silver chain. There was a small red circle opal, and her heart warmed over.
It was certainly Shinichi who had gotten her this, and she noticed something on the back.
There was a steel engraving on the back of the opal.
It said “Shinichi + Ran” and it was in a circle.
Ran blushed, knowing what a circle meant: forever.

Conan’s back was against a cement wall, and his breathing was a bit ragged.
He hoped that Ran wouldn’t worry about him anymore, and was absolutely happy that she returned her love.
Memories came to his mind of what he had done when he stepped out of the detective agency…
Conan began to run at a very fast pace to Agasa-hakase’s home and stopped at the door, panting a bit, before ringing the doorbell.
“Hello—Shinichi! What are you doing here?” Agasa asked as he opened the door.
“I need…to talk…to Haibara about something.” Conan huffed out.
“Sure, she’s in the living room.” Agasa said, closing the door after Conan walked in.
Conan reached the living room and Haibara said, “Yes, Kudou-kun?”
“Do you…have an antidote?”
“No, of course not…but I’ve been working on one and I think it’ll last for about five minutes. Would you like to try?”
“Yes! I have…something important…to do.” Conan replied quickly, blushing a bit at the last part.
“Oh…really? Something to do with Mouri-san, right?”
“Yeah…”
“Good, I wanted to try it out anyway…Tell me how it goes when your time’s up.”
“Eh? You’re not going to come monitor me and how well it works?”
“No…I’m pretty sure you want to see Mouri-san alone. I wouldn’t want to invade privacy.” Haibara smirked as Conan blushed audibly.
“Alright…I’ll take it in front of the agency so I don’t waste time. Thank you and merry Christmas, hakase, Haibara.” Conan said before leaving.
“Merry Christmas, Shinichi!” Agasa-hakase said happily.
“Merry Christmas, Kudou-kun…” Haibara whispered, a small smile on her face.
