A/N: So here is a little MeLty goodness wrapped up in a holiday oneshot. Enjoy!

Lindsay looked outside and sighed heavily. It was still snowing and there was more than a foot of snow on the ground. Her flight had been canceled and they had informed her that there were no planes scheduled to leave before Christmas. Lindsay bit her lip in frustration and sighed again then stood up and began pacing around her desk. There was no one left at the precinct, and she didn’t want to be there any longer. The only problem was she was stuck there. Unless she planned on walking home, she was going to have to spend the night in the lab.

Lindsay headed out, away from her desk, and to Mac’s office. She could at least sleep on the couch in his office, to save herself from the uncomfortable chairs. Her heels clicked on the cold tiles and Lindsay paused for a moment to slip off her shoes then continued on to Mac’s office.

What she rounded the corner she thought she would see another dark corridor, what she did not expect to see was Mac sitting at his desk. Lindsay paused briefly and smiled, thankful that she was not alone. She continued walking down the dark hallway then pushed open the door and seated herself in the chair opposite Mac’s.

“Lindsay, I thought everyone had gone home,” Mac said surprised to see her sitting in front of him. “Weren’t you supposed to be on a plane by now?” Mac pushed aside the pile of stuff in front of him and leaned back in his chair. There were a few cracks and pops as his bones shifted and readjusted.

“Yeah, it was canceled. And I thought I was going to be here all alone by myself,” Lindsay answered. She began toying with a loose string on her shirt. Mac leaned forward to say something but when he parted his lips to speak the lights went out. In less than thirty seconds the backup lights turned on and flooded the small room with white light.

“Do you want to go see what kind of food is left in the break room?” Mac asked her a sly smile on his lips. Lindsay laughed then nodded and followed him out of his office and down the deserted halls to the break room.

NY—NY

Three hours after they had set out in search of anything edible Mac and Lindsay returned to his office, laughing and feeling a lot better than when it had begun to snow. Outside snow still swirled down adding to the already deep snow and making visibility low. Lindsay stood and looked out the window, wondering if they would ever get out of there, and why they were the only people that hadn’t made it home.

Mac walked over to the couch and sat down. It had been a long day and he was exhausted. He was ready for a shower and then to go to bed. Of course things were not going to work out as he had planned. Lindsay turned and slowly made her way to the couch where Mac was sitting. She leaned back into the cushions then closed her eyes and sighed heavily.

“My parents are so disappointed I’m not going to make it back for Christmas,” Lindsay said with her eyes still shut.

“Do you think this is considered a blizzard?” Mac said very seriously. Lindsay opened her eyes and started laughing then nudged his knee with hers.

“Well…considering how much it has snowed in the last few hours, I’d say yes,” Lindsay said. After a few moments she smiled and then laid back on the couch, stretching out her legs so that they fell in Mac’s lap. For a moment all Mac could do was sit and look at her feet in his lap, and then he laid down behind Lindsay, wrapping one arm around her waist and burying his face in her hair.

“Merry Christmas, Lindsay,” Mac whispered. His breath tickled her face and she smiled then closed her eyes.

“Merry Christmas, Mac.”

NY—NY

There was something strangely exciting about sleeping so close to Mac. Lindsay opened her eyes and smiled when she realized that he was still holding her body close to his, only she was now turned so she was facing him. Lindsay closed her eyes again and tried to go back to sleep, but it was too late. She must have slept for a long time—the sun was starting to peek through the large windows. Lindsay didn’t want to get up just yet, she wanted to stay close to Mac and listen to his slow and easy breathing. She wanted to be able to feel his arms around her and smell his subtle cologne.

Much later Mac began to wake up, but Lindsay did not say anything. She kept her eyes closed and held on tightly to the front of his shirt. One of his legs was hooked over the top of both of hers and when he began to move Lindsay finally opened her eyes and looked up at him. Mac grinned then kissed her forehead. Lindsay froze and let her eyes venture up to his. When they met Lindsay felt the sudden desire to pull away from Mac. She needed to distance herself from him before she did anything she might later regret. And she did. Before Mac could say anything she was out the door and hurrying down the hallway.

NY—NY

Lindsay returned twenty minutes later, after brushing her teeth and changing her clothes. Mac had changed his shirt and was sitting behind his desk, staring aimlessly at a stack of paperwork directly in front of him. Lindsay slowly walked into his office, then perched herself on the edge of his desk.

“Why’d you run?” Mac asked her. He looked up at her and Lindsay felt her breath catch in her throat. A million emotions danced across his face, everyone of them reflected in his eyes.

Lindsay wanted to answer him but she wasn’t sure what she would say. She didn’t have a very good reason for running. She had just felt like if she hadn’t then…then what?

“I’m not sure. But I feel terrible about it now,” Lindsay said. She put her hand on his and continued to look at him. All Mac could focus on was her hand on his. It was almost like he was trying to convince himself that she really was there, close enough to touch.

Slowly Mac stood up and turned to face Lindsay. He put two fingers underneath her chin and tilted her head back so her could look directly into her eyes. Lindsay no longer felt that sense of panic; instead she felt a sudden rush of emotions, all of them good ones. Mac put his other hand on the back of her head then leaned in and brushed his lips across hers in a soft kiss. Lindsay tangled her fingers in his hair and pulled him closer, deepening the kiss in the process. When they finally broke apart both of them were breathless.

Lindsay began to unbutton his shirt and when she finally got all of the buttons undone she pushed it off of him and then ran her hands across his bare chest. Lindsay kissed his neck then began trailing kisses down his neck. Mac seemed undecided about the situation and for a moment he simply stood there, allowing Lindsay to do as she wished with him. Mac picked her up and then set her down on his desk.

“Don’t you think it’s a little strange that no one, not even the night shift, had showed up for work yet? I know it’s Christmas but people are still signed up to work,” Mac said. Lindsay grinned then pulled him closer to by wrapping her legs around his waist.

“We can solve that mystery later,” Lindsay said slightly out of breath. Mac grinned and kissed her again.

He started pulling her shirt over her head when something stopped him. Mac backed away from Lindsay and then slowly walked to the door. His hand was on the butt of his gun and he was looking around with a puzzled look on his face.

After a few moments Mac shrugged and let his hand slip away from his gun. There was nothing there; he was alone with Lindsay. Mac grinned then walked back to Lindsay who was also grinning.

A/N: Did you like it? It was a little…odd, but well, I don’t know. Tell me what you think. And I’m sorry I haven’t posted much MeLty lately, I’ve just been so busy!
