Unwanted Boundaries
Epilogue: Typical
“Let’s play!” A little girl’s voice chimed beautifully, alerting the woman to her cry. “Where’s Daddy?”
With a giggle, the woman pointed a long, slim finger at the man stretched across the couch, shoes on and everything. The young girl soon joined her in laughing at his lewd pose.
Thick, brown hair fell over his eyes, where dark lashes brushed tanned cheeks. His suit wasn’t entirely buttoned, which showed the light, see-through shirt he wore underneath it, and his hand lie on his crotch. The woman resisted the urge to lick her lips and make a pounce.
Instead, she’d go for the prowl. Yum. Shushing the girl who still giggled, she tiptoed over to him, and she softly threw a leg over him and leaned over to his and whispered lowly, “Syao…ran…”
His amber eyes flew open and he sat up, staring at her before flopping back down with a sigh and bringing his not-trapped hand to his forehead. “Well, as nice as this is, Sakura, I’m sure you haven’t woken me up for a nice reason.”
“How’d you know?” Sakura grinned slyly. “You’re right—your daughter wants to play with us?”
Syaoran looked around his wife to find his daughter waiting impatiently in the kitchen, playing with her impossible hair. “Come here, Ju Lei Feng.”
“Can’t you call me by my short name?” She pouted, putting her hands on her hips. “Ju-li-e!”
“Yeah, yeah, Juliet.” He teased, sitting up as Sakura moved next to him. “Come here, you.” Patting his lap, she flew over, scolding him as she plopped into it and leaned onto his chest, giggling. “So, where are we going today?”
“Here!” The four year old cried happily with a toothy—or not so toothy—smile. “I just wanna stay with Tou-chan and Kaa-chan.”
The man smirked, giving her a noogie; Sakura giggled, joining in the fun by tickling. “You just wanna take up the time while Lang Ling isn’t here.”
“May-y-y-be…” She squealed as her mother blew a raspberry on her neck.
“That’s mean, Julie.” Sakura chided playfully. “Lang Ling’s such fun to make fun of.”
The phone rang, interrupting their fun, and Syaoran rose. “I’ll get it.” After a short walk, he could be heard answering. “Hello?”

“Good to hear you’re doing well.” The voice made him groan, which in turn made the person on the line chuckle. “Oh, don’t be like that, Xiao Lang. I just want to see my grandchildren this Spring! And besides, you and Sakura are still young.”
“Damn straight we are.” He muttered. “We’re only twenty four. Of course we’re still young!”
“Language, language.” His own mother chided. “You have children now.”
“Yeah, well, it’s their own fault if they pick up my language then, isn’t it?” Syaoran shifted on his feet at a call of ‘Daddy, hurry up!’. “I’m gonna go—the youngest calls.”
“And Lang Ling Dao?” Yelan teased. “I won’t keep you if you answer truthfully how he feels about this.”
“You really have to ask?” The laughter erupted from their lips. “He’s a damn kid—he hates school, just like everybody else.”

After an afternoon of playing with their daughter on one of Syaoran’s few days off, the three of them made their way to the elementary school, Ju Lei squirming in her booster seat.
“Ah! It’s Tomoyo-san!” Julie smiled, waving at the long-haired woman holding her brother’s hand. “Your dress is pretty like always, Tomoyo-san!”
“Hey, Tomoyo!” Sakura hopped out of the now-parked car and proceeded to talk too fast for either Ju Lei or Lang Ling to follow. “When was the shoot again? I’m not going if it’s with…”
Tomoyo babbled back with a smile—she walked Lang Ling to and from school, since she was so close, and had nothing better to do. “I know, I know! Besides that, Julie’s getting big enough for me to—”
“No!” Both their father and mother protested, scowls crossing their faces.
Syaoran protested first. “You will not put our children through that torture at the ages of four and six!”
“But they’re so cute! It’s rare when you find such good models at an age this young!” Their family friend pouted. “And it isn’t torture.”
“And you’ll have to wait until they’re old enough to decide that for themselves.” Sakura huffed, to her friend’s deeper pout.
“Fine, fine.” Tomoyo gave in. “But if they come in for tea and cookies, it’s fair game.”
“Look, I’ll even come a couple times if that’s what you want,” Even as he began, he saw her eyes sparkle. “But leave them alone. At least ‘til eight, Daidouji.”
Her grin wasn’t natural, and Sakura glared at her spouse, almost saying, Look what you’ve done now, Syaoran! “Oh, if you’ll come, eight is an easy wait.”
As they loaded the kids in the car, they grumbled lowly to themselves, knowing what they’d gotten into.
Finally, when they were all ready to head off for home, Lang Ling posed a question. “Hey Tou-chan?”
“Hm?” He replied absently.
“What’s ‘torture’?” Lang Ling asked innocently.
Before putting his foot to the pedal, he looked him in the eye and said, very serious, “It’s what happens when you let Daidouji get too damn close.”
Sakura tried not to smile. “He’s going to pick up your language by the time he’s nine.”
Mumbling, Syaoran replied darkly, “Hell if I care…” She giggled.

Late that night, as the couple curled up in bed and their children snoozed away in the rooms down the hall, they mused on days past.
“You were a stupid eighteen year old.” He chided with a scowl, to her amusement. “Didn’t you know it’s not fair to hypnotize people?”
“Hey, the fact that you remembered from months before shows it worked extremely well.” She giggled, pecking him on the nose and twining their legs. “Want another?”
“Hell no.” He snorted; she laughed quietly. “I love ‘em to death, but not right now. We’re gonna have to sow you up, like a cat.”
“But then that means we can’t have our fun.” She purred seductively.
“You are a kid-loving, turning-me-on, sexy bitch!” Syaoran growled lowly. “I just told you—and we don’t have anything to stop energy-ball number three from coming out.”
“I took my medicine this morning, no worries.” Sakura giggled once more, toying with the buttons on his pajamas. “Won’t you have some fun with me while we can?”
“If I regret this and actually get AIDS this time, I’m suing you.” He chuckled playfully, nipping at her skin lightly. “I’m serious.”
With the click of the lamp off, he could still see her smile. “Me too.”
Behind closed doors, their neat little family was kept, with frequent passing-by of friends and family, who wondered how they’d ended up with two beautiful, well-mannered…who were they kidding?
Kids would be kids.
As their parents had their ‘fun’, they forgot that pillow fights were frequent.
But that’s another story for not-so-many years in the future.
