Broken Lives

The head of Uchiha Clan stood proudly with his two sons and wife. Beside his right side there was his eldest son, Itachi -twenty one years old, beside him the younger one, Sasuke -seventeen years old. The wife was on left. Some men, ranking in priority from the clan were behind them. The leader greeted Yondaime and his wife and they had a little talking. After hokage continued his way in the crowd they faced another oldest and biggest clan of Konohagakure, Hyuuga.

Uchiha Fugaku and Hyuuga Hiashi greeted each other politely. The wives were warmer and nicer. On his right of Hyuuga leader his cousin, the heir of the clan, Neji stood, eighteen years old. On other side of the middle aged man there were his two daughters, Hinata –seventeen years old and Hanabi –fourteen years old, standing a few steps backwards; respectful, decent and polite. They didn’t talk without being talked.

Sasuke stood impassive to the chat his father was doing with his soon to be father in law. He eyed the elder daughter of the man from head to toe lazily. They were officially engaged some time ago but it was the first time they met face to face. She had a lavender and park purple rich kimono, worthy to her clan’s name. Her hair was long purple-black reaching to her waist. Her pearly eyes were downcast and she folded her hands in front of her. There was a light blush on her cheeks. It was hard to believe the girl was a chuunin. The younger girl also a chunin as her father mentioned was standing tall, her hands were at her two sides, relaxed and she was looking forward, full of herself.

As an Anbu captain the younger Uchiha was broken at seventeen years old. As broken as his elder brother. However the family was standing in the crowd strong and proud as if they were perfect family in the world. Behind closed doors the mother was tired left between sons and father. The father was sorry for how his children ended. The elder brother was a rebel, by himself not caring about anything else. The younger was trying his best to be the perfect son and make his parents happy.

His father told him to not follow his elder brother’s footsteps and he tried his best to not. Sasuke began academy at eight. Thanks to his father’s attention –after the man gave up his hopes on elder- he graduated at ten before the other children, who began to the academy at the same time with him. As a genin his mentor was one of the best ninja, Hatake Kakashi. They didn’t want him to end like his elder brother and the man was thought to be the best option for mentoring him. During his time with his personal sensei he gained the special bloodline of his family, sharingan. But at eleven he was kidnapped by the former ninja of Konohagakure, snake sannin Orochimaru. A year later when his brother came to save him he already took down the snake at the broken man’s weakest moment.

At twelve years old and three times stronger than before Sasuke came back home with a cursed seal on his neck, a sword hanging on his back. He promoted chuunin without getting into the exam. He joined Anbu at fifteen years old and he has been gaining experiences and learning more and more on every mission until he took his place in Konoha Military that year. In years he became more silent, more aloof. But still he cared to not be like his elder brother as his father asked him. The number of people he killed was quarter of quarter of his brother’s murders. He tried to avoid taking lives as long as he could prevent it.

The girl was promised to his elder brother, Itachi but the young man refused and threatened his parents to kill the girl if they made him marry her. Itachi hated being ordered and told what to do. He refused to join their clan’s forces but continued his life as an Anbu captain. So fulfilling the promise his parents did left to Sasuke. He didn’t care. All along his life he worked to please his father and again he was just doing it for his family. He had no desire to fall in love yet or found a family that much young. Like his father and mother, who were decided for each other by elders, did he was going to be a good husband to the woman chosen as his wife while the woman played her part as the good wife.

All along her life Hinata was a shy and hesitant girl. She was lack of self confidence which affected her life as an heiress of Hyuuga Clan and a ninja. She has always worked hard to improve herself and prove herself worthy to her father, her idol. Since academy years she always followed Naruto’s example to get stronger. Never give up. She made it also her ninja way. But sometimes telling yourself don’t give up wasn’t enough. Although her teammates Kiba and Shino, her sensei helped her a lot it was never enough for her to gain self-confidence.

Being the only heir her cousin was going to be the leader of their clan one day. They waited for Hiashi to have a son but when he didn’t they decided Neji as the main heir. He wasn’t given cursed seal.

She thought her life was miserable. As if her father was disappointed of her not enough her cousin always had a grudge against her blaming her for his father’s death. The man sacrificed himself in the place of his brother, the leader of the clan, when he killed a ninja who tried to kidnap her. Hinata had a crush on Yondaime’s son but again she was never good enough to be noticed by the guy. Thinking he liked Sakura, the strongest kunoichi of their time Hinata was aware she had no choice. Only her teammates believed in her. On missions people told her to stand back and not get into their way. They asked to stay away so she wouldn’t get hurt.

At sixteen years old she learned she was promised to heir of Uchiha clan. Her younger sister and she were given cursed seals. While they gave the seal to them because she would be a branch family member they also not believe Hinata could protect herself and not let their powerful bloodline byakugan to be captured by others. Next year she was going to marry the guy, who was walking beside her. She didn’t know about him and his rude comment to Ino and Sakura disheartened her. But there was nothing she could do. She was going to be the perfect wife as she was taught by her mother and the elder women of her clan.

When Sasuke and Hinata left in the middle of the crowd together an awkward silence fell. He didn’t know what to say. She was so shy to talk.

“Yo.” To their aid Sasuke’s former sensei came. “It’s a long time Sasuke,” he said nodding to the girl “Hinata.” She bowed slightly greeting the man.

“Kakashi-san,” She said quietly.

Although he wasn’t his mentor anymore Sasuke went to the silver haired man time to time to talk, ask for advices and got his troubles off his chest.

“Kakashi!”

“Hinata?”

All in a sudden they were surrounded by people making both Hinata and Sasuke uneasy. She was uncomfortable among a lot of people. He hated noisy. Although he didn’t show any emotion and stood stoic the girl blushed more but held her head to smile her friends.

“Hey guys,” Kakashi greeted them. “This is Uchiha Sasuke.” He took the duty to introduce the group to him. Sasuke gave him a glare. “And these are, Naruto, I am sure you already know him.”

‘Who didn’t know the noisy son of Hokage’ Sasuke thought looking at the blond, who was eying him. He nodded to Shikamaru, who he worked with before twice. He guessed the one with two red marks on his cheeks and a huge dog beside him was from Inuzuka clan. The one beside him hidden under coats and sun glasses was an Aburame as to the bugs wandering over his cheek. The fat one was Akimichi carrying his family’s symbol even if it wasn’t necessary to understand which clan he was from.

“And Sakura. My former team,” Kakashi continued “Sai, another member of team 7. Shikamaru, Chouji and…”

“Hello I am Ino,” the long blond haired girl, wearing a purple kimono, grabbed his arm leaning on him.

“Let him go Ino-pig!” Sakura stepped in front of him pushing her long pink hair back on her shoulder. She had a red kimono. Their dresses were very simple beside Hinata’s. “You are bothering him. Nice to meet you Sasuke-kun.” She smiled flirty.

“Go away forehead girl!” Ino held his arm tighter. “You already have Naruto!” the other guys rolled their eyes. Those two fought enough over Naruto in academy and now they were arguing on another guy.

“Oh don’t get it wrong Sasuke-kun. Naruto is only a teammate,” Sakura said glaring Ino and smiling to him making her face look ridiculous.

“Really? Is that why…”

“Girls!” Sasuke cut and pulled his arm away from the blond stepping away from them. “If I need a whore I’ll keep your names in my mind.”

“Wh…” Ino and Sakura’s eyes went wide and their mouths fell to the ground. Everybody looked at Sasuke surprised. It was rude and daring to humiliate Ino and Sakura.

“Why you!” Sakura hurled one of his strongest fists to Sasuke not caring how good looking he was or who he was anymore. But he just stood there without flinching and grabbed her first with his palm. Sakura pulled away hissing when her power was forced back to her arm.

Everybody’s eyes went wide. There was nobody who survived the deathly punches of the girl.

“S-Sakura-chan? Are you okay?” Naruto asked not even caring she denied being his girlfriend a minute ago.

“Now,” Sasuke said calmly. “If you don’t mind I’d like spend sometime with my fiancé.” Putting his hand on Hinata’s waist he led the stunned girl away. Blushing Hinata let him take her away from the group.

“WHAT?!”
