Thanks very much for the reviews, and please enjoy this!
I think that the song to listen to during the match is 'Bliss' by Muse. Enjoy!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Beyblade or BBA but I own the Serene Slashers.
Let it Rip, Chapter 10
The Finals, Part 3
"Faye! Faye! Wake up, honey!"
"How did I do?"
It was dark, and I was so tired even the air in my lungs seemed heavy. I was lying on something hard and I could hear lots of loud mumbling and hustle and bustle. It was Jasmine who had spoken to me.
"You did good! You drew with Ruby and your blade is intact."
Suddenly something clicked and everything came rushing back. I opened my eyes, my vision hazy but then focusing on Bobbie and Jasmine, who were both knelt beside me, looking worried; whilst two men who I knew were medicals were standing above me.
"I drew? Another tie?" I said quietly, my voice barely above a rasp. I was disappointed about the tie.
"Get up, Faye." Bobbie pulled me to the sitting position and supported me. Jasmine handed me Naida, which was steaming a little and was extremely hot but was in one piece, as she had said.
"I'm so tired..." I muttered as Bobbie and Jasmine combined their efforts and pulled me to my feet.
My head was thumping as I looked around. The crowd was still there, black and moving and whispering, camera flashes forming spots in front of my eyes. They helped me back to the team stands, where I slumped onto the bench and leant back, completely exhausted.
"...Aaaand she's OK, folks!" Jazzman yelled, to the cheers (and boos) of the audience, "The result of the previous match brings both teams' scores to one. The next match will begin shortly!"
Somebody pressed some aspirin into my hand, which I swallowed quickly. I blinked many times before I looked at my teammates, who both looked worried.
"Go." I said to Jas, "Go win it for us."
Jas looked over at the other team, the last member of which was still cloaked, before turning back.
"Are you sure?"
I nodded.
"Do it for us." I repeated. Bobbie remained at my side as Jas got out her new white blade out of her pocket and looked at it. I stared at it; if we hadn't got those recent updates then we would already be out of the competition. The Silver Cloaks were extremely tough.
I too looked over at them. The remaining cloaked member was sitting on the bench, the hood up and her arms folded. Aimee was leaning against the outer stands, looking bored. Ruby was looking at us, the smallest hint of concern in her light blue eyes.
Jasmine clasped hands with us both, her own green eyes stricken, before striding out to the dish and giving Jazzman a quick nod. He took his mic.
"Settle down, peeps! After our short blip, we WILL be continuing with the finals!" he called out to the screams and yells of the crowd, "Since both teams have one point, and there's only one more battle to be held, this last round will be a Tie Breaker Match, a match to determine the victor of the Grand Finals! Whichever blader walks away victorious, then their team wins."
Bobbie called out our luck, and then turned to me.
"Are you sure you're alright?" she asked softly. I nodded, trying a small smile.
"I'm so tired."
We watched as the last remaining Silver Cloak walked out to the dish and raised her beyblade. It was brown, with a spiky attack ring.
"The final match of this battle is between defensive Jasmine Young of the Serene Slashers vs. Emily Rodriguez, top-dog of the Silver Cloaks!"
Jasmine froze, staring at the opposing team as the final girl- Emily- walked out to the stadium and threw away her cloak. She was short and stout, with long brown hair which was up in a ponytail. She had olive skin with fierce black eyes and a demeanour about her which sparked hostility as soon as she layed eyes on us. She grinned evilly as Jazzman lifted his microphone.
"Bladers, are you ready to proceed?"
Both Jasmine and Emily nodded, their angry eyes only pointed at each other.
"3...2...1...LEEET IIIT RIIIIIP!"
"Toro, GO FOR IT!" Emily shouted, her voice having the slightest purr of a Spanish accent. Her brown blade clashed with Jas's white one. Gelsey was spinning, heavy as a brick, in the middle of the dish and nothing Toro could do could shift it. The battle went on for ages, and it was looking good for us.
Then, suddenly, Gelsey gracefully zoomed away from the centre of the dish, Toro having missed the target and wobbling at the edge. We held our breath...
"OH, that was a close one!"
Bobbie and I held back scowls of disappointment as Toro zoomed back into the dish with enviable speed and crashed against Gelsey; a noise like a firework exploding from the two blades as they collided.
"TORO!" Emily yelled, her accent making it sound like she had said 'Torrlo,' "FINISH IT!"
And at once, a huge dark brown bull flew out from Emily's blade and stomped on the 'floor' loudly, rearing back and grunting. The brown beyblade slowly began to retreat back, the Beast that had emerged from it continuing to grunt and howl as the whole dish began to glow.
Jasmine was holding back. I knew she was worried about using her new Bit Beast for the first time; but- as Toro was clearly going in for an attack, a powerful one at that- it was now or never.
"Jasmine!" I jumped out of Bobbie's concerned arms, stumbling a little as I had not yet fully recovered from my own battle, "JASMINE! You have to do it! Now!"
Toro reared up and roared at the same time as Jasmine stood to her fullest height and called out,
"GELSEY! Help me!"
There was silence for a moment- even from the audience- as a beautiful green light began to illuminate the stadium. Emily and Toro paused as Gelsey- the enchanting nymph- rose from the beyblade. The dark green shell around it unfurled to reveal its lithe moss-green body.
Then the sound came rushing back. The commentators were jabbering about the new development in the match and Toro was puzzled so much that it halted it's attack. Gelsey hovered over the blade, its very precence instilling serenity and awe into all.
"Gelsey!" Jasmine yelled, throwing out her arm and pointing at Toro, "Attack!"
Gelsey immediately acted; it's arms rose up and it issued forth a beautiful sound from its mouth. The sound was a mixture of birds chirping, violins crooning and another mixture of the most amazing choir singing anybody ever heard. The music silenced everything else and everybody stopped to listen to Gelsey.
Emily- who had been staring at Gelsey- snapped out of her trance and commanded her beyblade to move, her fists clenched so hard her arms were turning red.
"TORO!" she yelled, "HOOF CRUSH ATTACK! NOW!"
Toro roared again and began to stampede over to Gelsey; but Jasmine's Bit Beast was too quick. It pointed both of its arms at the raging bull and opened its mouth. This time though, it wasn't to sing; it was to attack.
A blindingly bright yellow beam was issued forth from Gelsey's mouth, and as quick as lightning struck Toro in the chest.
"YES!" yelled Bobbie, who jumped up and waved around her arms. I smiled at her- things were going well. It was going better than we thought it was. Toro screeched in pain and doubled back, howling once more before disappearing in a shattering burst of light, leaving the whole stadium shadowed in dust and smoke.
Silence followed.
We could barely see Jasmine through the white spots on our eyes. Using all of my recovered strength, I stood and walked out of our stands so I could see clearer. Jasmine was crouching on one knee, using one hand to steady herself; her head hung. I couldn't yet see Emily or what was happening in the dish. Right then, it didn't matter.
"Are you OK?" I asked, shaking the dazed Jasmine, "What's happening?"
Jasmine didn't answer. She leant on my shoulder as she stood, her feet barely keeping her up. Jazzman was talking in his microphone, after a while of silence.
"This is an incredible turn of events in today's final! With the whole stadium covered in smoke, who had won? Is it the powerful brute Toro? Or the quite astounding Gelsey?"
"The whole dish is immersed in fog, AJ. What do you think they're going to do?"
"I don't know, Brad. I...- oh! Something's coming through now...they're going to turn on the fans!"
We watched with bated breath as we heard whirring from high above and soon the smog started to filter away. Jasmine's energy was flanking, I could tell, from the way that she was leaning more of her weight onto me.
"Just a little more, Jas. Just a little more. Hold on."
Bobbie joined us and helped support Jasmine as the dish began to clear.
"Oh! Looks like we have a clear picture of the winner! The winner is....Jasmine Young and the SERENE SLASHERS!"
I straightened up, the words not seeming to sink in. I stared at my teammates, who looked equally as confused. The audience was quiet before the cheers and applause grew louder and louder.
"We...?" Jasmine stuttured. Bobbie looked from Jas to me and back again.
"You won. Jasmine, you won."
"We won!" I yelled, jumping up and down in glee.
The dish was completely clear now. Emily's blade was still, whilst Jasmine's was barely staying up. It stopped spinning as we looked up and saw medicals swarming around Emily, who was unconsious.
"What a SPECTACULAR battle! The Serene Slashers have won two points out of three, so that means that the Serene Slashers are the NEW UK CHAMPIONS, AND WILL GO ON TO REPRESENT THE UK IN THE BBA GRAND SHOWDOWN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS! THE FIRST WORLD SHOWDOWN SINCE THE BBA REVOLUTION WON BACK IN 2005..."
Wait....what?
