Toph and Sokka were sitting enduring one of Katara’s lectures.

“Now when I come back from shopping, I don’t want to find any rocks in places they shouldn’t be, or any sword-slashes in the curtains, or any holes in the wall, or any food gone from the cupboard which I did not say you could eat, or any dirt on anything-“

“So basically we aren’t to touch anything. Would you like to tie me to the floor and put Toph in a wooden cage as well?”

Katara pondered for a moment.

“Actually, that’s not a bad idea…”

“Come on ‘Tara, it’ll be fine. They must have run out of ideas by now-“

“Don’t set them a challenge!!!!”

“Fine, fine, look, don’t worry. If we come back and the house is trashed as usual, then they can’t stay here anymore. OK?”

Katara looked up at her husband’s calm face, and took a deep breath.

“OK.”

Once Katara and Aang were safely out of the building Toph and Sokka sat in silence for a few seconds.

“We’re gonna trash the house, right Toph?”

“HELL YEAH!!!”

“You know, we could just leave them a note saying we loved them but couldn’t be tied down in this city anymore?...

Toph frowned.

…Yeah, you’re right. What fun would that be?!!!”

“Of course I am right. I am The Toph and I am always right. BOW DOWN TO ME MERE MORTAL!!!”

Sokka curtseyed and they both laughed and went into the kitchen.

After all, where better to start the havoc-wreaking than in the room that had been cleaned up and fixed only hours earlier?

A few hours later, we return to the scene almost as we left it, except everything is upside down, and/or coated in a layer of mud. Including Toph and Sokka. (They were covered in mud, they weren’t upside down.)

“What do you think snoozles? That enough house-demolishing for ya?”

Sokka flopped down on the now brown (once beautifully embroidered green and gold) couch.

“Yeah, that should do it…

He grabbed her around the waist and pulled her down next to him.

…Is The Toph satisfied?”

Toph tried in vein to keep the blush that was gracing her features out of Sokka’s sight.

Thank Angi he can’t sense heartbeats!

“Yeah…”

“Now all we have to do is wait for Katara and Aang to come home and tell us to get the hell out of their house.”

“Yeah…”

“…Do we have to? It wouldn’t be awful if we just left them a note explaining that Momo is just completely out of control and we couldn’t stand him anymore so we left?”

“Yeah…”

“OK so that’s what we’ll do? Right. Gonna write it now…Paper… Pen…”

“Yeah…”

“Toph are you ok? All you’ve said for a couple of minutes is ‘yeah…’.”

Toph giggled girlishly “Yeah…

“…”

“I MEAN NO!!!!!! Eh, yes, no, I’m fine, we’re leaving!!!”
