Chapter 42 One Disaster After Another

Brikerea let out a small sigh as Trikon hovered over Starscream’s shoulder, watching whatever the older Seeker was doing. Another five years had flown by without her even realizing it and she was surprised by how very little those years had changed the sparklings. They still acted like children, even though they were now eleven years old. Megatron had explained that Transformers aged according to thousands of years, not simple human years. While it had startled her at first, she could figure where the logic in that was. Transformers could live for thousands of thousands of years, so why shouldn’t they age every thousand years or so? That way, they had enough time to figure out everything more efficiently than a human child did in the span of a few years.

“Momma,” Tempo chirped as she touched her mother’s leg, “why is Daddy so uptight?”

Brikerea smiled gently to her sparkling before she picked her up. “Because Daddy is on constant alert incase the Autobots try a counterattack on us.” She replied gently.

Cybertron had been under Decepticon control for the past four years but little had changed. There were still fugitive Autobots hiding around the planet, spying to the best of their abilities, and reporting back to the Autobots that had moved their bases to Cybertron’s moons.

Tempo let out a slight giggle as Shockwave walked into the Command Center, flecks of black paint still stuck to his only optic, evidence of the latest prank that they had pulled. He glared at the small sparkling before walking over to his station grumbling. Brikerea grinned at Tempo before she shook her head.

“You really should leave him alone.” She commented.

“Maybe, but it’s so much fun!” Tempo giggled.

“What is?” Megatron asked as he walked up beside them and wrapped an arm around Brikerea’s waist.

“Pranking Shockwave.” Tempo replied proudly. “It’s so easy, it makes walking look hard.”

“I think you let them hang around Skywarp too much.” Megatron chuckled before there was a dull clank somewhere to their left followed by a soft chirrup.

Soundwave glanced at his feet and shook his head slightly as Rumble and Frenzy snickered. There was a small grunt before a small, red femme sparkling crawled up onto the table and collapsed beside Frenzy. The sparkling sat up slowly and readjusted the purple visor that she had gotten a month before, and chirped up at Soundwave. Rumble whispered something to her and she seemed to deflate slightly before leaning against her older brother.

“She can’t quite grasp that he has important things to do other than play with her.” Megatron chuckled before he turned around to watch a screen.

“Well, she always has his attention so she can’t grasp it in the span of a week.” Brikerea replied as she turned around to look at the screen.

“Go figure.” Megatron muttered before Trikon floated over and landed on Brikerea’s wings.

“Lazerbeak has returned, my Lord.” Shockwave’s voice rang out as the little red and black condor flew over to him.

Megatron grinned as he lifted his arm up to catch the Cassetteicon as he landed. “Ah, yes. At least I can count on Lazerbeak to complete a mission, unlike some of my other soldiers.” He stated with a sidelong glance at Starscream. As Starscream glared at him, he laughed. “Soundwave, playback Lazerbeak’s findings.”

Soundwave jumped and transformed, landing on the table in front of a monitor and opened his chest compartment to allow Lazerbeak to fly in. He connected to the computer monitor and played what Lazerbeak had recorded on his surveillance mission of the main Autobot moon base. An image of Optimus talking to Ironhide via computer screen appeared before them.

“Collect a small battalion and head to Autobot City on Earth. We’ll collect the energy we need before we launch our attack on Cybertron.” Optimus stated calmly.

Megatron chuckled cruelly as Soundwave transformed back into his robot mode. “Well, we can’t have that now, can we?” He asked. “Prepare to move out at dawn. We strike our enemy before they can reach Autobot City. Then we will destroy the city for good.”

“Then we can take out the moon bases and get rid of the bigger threat!” Starscream shouted.

“You are an idiot Starscream.” Megatron snorted.

Brikerea made the motion of rolling her optics before Trikon started chirping in excitement. “Can we come too?” He asked.

“Yeah! Can we?” Tempo shouted as she looked up at Megatron.

Megatron shook his head. “No, not this time.” He replied. “This mission will be far more dangerous than a mere energy raid.”

“AWW!” Trikon and Tempo whined.

“Stop that.” Brikerea scolded. “You knew the answer to your question before you even asked it.”

Both sparklings hung their heads, both out of misery and the fact that they had just been scolded in front of everyone, before Megatron gave the order for everyone to leave the room. Brikerea went to follow Starscream, but Megatron grabbed her arm. He lifted an optic ridge as he grinned, telling her without words what was going to happen. She shook her head before she caught hold of Soundwave’s arm as he walked by with Scarlet curled against his chest. He didn’t need her to tell him what to do before he picked up Tempo and Trikon off of her. He nodded to them before he turned and left the room.

Megatron waited until everyone had left before he pulled her tightly to his chest so that her back was pressed to him and ran a hand along the base of her wings. “Well my beautiful mate, how long has it been since we had a room all to ourselves?” He asked with a purr as he started kissing her neck.

Brikerea grinned as she reached up and placed her hand on the back of his head. “Hmm, about a week.” She replied.

“That’s far too long.” Megatron purred as he nipped a fuel line gently. “Far too long without time alone.”

“We are at war and you are leader of the Decepticons; we aren’t going to have too much time to ourselves.” Brikerea replied around a moan of pleasure as his fingers began to caress her wings.

Megatron purred again before he moved them over to one of the desks. He turned her around and pushed her into a sitting position on the desk before giving a hungry purr. Brikerea purred back as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close to her before pressing her chest against his. Megatron growled hungrily before his left hand found its way to her leg and he lifted it up so that her turbine heel was resting on the desk. He ran his hand along the length of her leg, purring as she moaned when he began to play with the turbine. Her other leg slid in between his feet and began to slowly slid up the inside of his leg, sending bursts of ecstasy through him. He left her leg on the desk before he ran his fingers along the seam of her cockpit, causing her to shiver and moan in absolute pleasure. He grinned as his hand slid farther up her body, caressing her chest slightly before sliding up to her chin and tipping it up towards him. Her green optics flashed softly and he purred before he pulled her into a passionate kiss. She purred into his mouth as her hands slid down his chest, causing him to shiver and moan into her mouth. Brikerea slid her hand under a certain plating on his stomach and pulled him closer to her so that their hips touched. Megatron let out a very loud purr before steam rose off his body and he collapsed against her.

Brikerea giggled as Megatron’s head fell against her shoulder. “You didn’t last too long.” She commented as her internal fans revved to life to cool her over-heated systems. “That was, what, three minutes?”

Megatron chuckled weakly. “You are just too over-stimulating.” He replied with a soft purr.

She smiled as she stroked his helm and kissed it. She looked up and froze. “Um, maybe you should have told them not to come back.” She whispered before she giggled at the other Seekers’ terrified expressions.

Megatron staggered weakly to his feet. “What?” He demanded before he rounded on the Seekers. “What are you doing back in here?!” He snarled.

“W-w-we were g-g-going to ask you s-s-something about the a-a-attack tomorrow.” Thundercracker squeaked.

Megatron glared at the three Seekers as Brikerea giggled behind him. The three Seeker boys had a habit of walking in on them when they were doing something intimate, whether it was in the middle of a passionate kiss or just about to interface. This time obviously wasn’t an exception, except this time, they had witnessed just about everything.

“Maybe we should start locking the door.” Brikerea commented as she covered her mouth with the back of her hand and giggled.

“We shouldn’t have to.” Megatron growled. “I ordered them out of the room.”

Starscream shook like a leaf before he looked at her desperately. She raised her hands up and shook her head. “You’re the ones who didn’t knock. That’ll teach you.” She replied.

“But did you HAVE to overload in here?!” Skywarp demanded. “Why didn’t you go back to your room?!”

Megatron growled again before Brikerea stood up and walked over to him. She placed a hand on his arm before she reached up with her other hand and gently pushed his face down to meet hers. She kissed him gently before pulling back. “Calm down, Megatron.” She cooed before she turned to the three Seekers. “If I hear one word floating around about what went on here, I will track each of you down and kick your afts to the Autobots’ moon bases, and then leave you there to get dismantled by the Autobots, understood?” She asked. All three Seekers nodded quickly, earning a smile from her. “Good. Now, what did you want to ask about the attack tomorrow?”

“We wanted to know if you were coming.” Skywarp replied.

Brikerea nodded and she felt Megatron’s arm tense under her hand. “Yes, I’ll be coming.” She winked. “Can’t exactly have one Seeker remain behind while the other three are risking their necks, now can we?” She asked.

Skywarp smiled and nodded before all three Seekers left the room. Megatron pulled her close to him before he started stroking her cheek. “You are sure you want to come?” He asked. “You could stay behind. No one would think less of you; Tempo and Trikon need to be looked after.”

Brikerea looked up into his face and smiled gently. “I’m coming.” She replied gently. “I’m a Decepticon too.”

Megatron hugged her tightly to his chest. “I don’t like it, put I will allow you to come. I know it is impossible to change your mind once it is set.” He whispered.

Brikerea giggled before she reached up and pulled his head down so that they were staring into each other’s optics. “Stop worrying about me so much.” She purred before she kissed him. Megatron purred in reply before his hands slid to a certain position on her back and he deepened the kiss.

Brikerea flew beside Skywarp as they all chased after the shuttle that had the Autobots heading towards Autobot City. She felt her fuel tank clench in expectation; who would be aboard the shuttle? Would it be someone she would regret killing? Would there be someone on there that would end up killing her? She shivered slightly from anxiety and felt a calming wave of emotion flow over her and Megatron’s bond. She smiled to herself before they all pulled up slightly and waited for Megatron’s signal.

Megatron raised his fusion cannon and shot a hole in the hull of the shuttle. Everyone flew closer as he snapped cables and fuel lines that were hanging in the way before they all poured into the Command center of the shuttle. The first Autobot to attack was the Minibot Brawn. Megatron didn’t waste a second before he shot and killed him.

“Decepticons, ATTACK!” Megatron ordered before he transformed into his gun mode and Starscream caught him.

Everyone started firing on the Autobots. Prowl fell to Megatron’s gun, not that Brikerea felt any remorse over the fact; he deserved to die in her opinion. Ratchet fell next by a combined attack from Brikerea, Thundercracker, and Skywarp, and she couldn’t bite back the swell of guilt in her fuel tank; Ratchet was the reason that she and Soundwave were the way they were and he held helped protect Tempo when she was with the Autobots. Ironhide charged forward and at the exact same moment, Brikerea, Soundwave, and Megatron all fired on him, blasting him backwards into the control panel. He slumped to the ground with a large wound running from his stomach to his shoulders. Megatron transformed and laughed as he walked over to the control panel.

“The Autobots think that this shuttle is bringing them their allies.” He taunted. “But instead it is bringing them their doom. They won’t even know it until it’s too late.”

“No!” Ironhide shouted, still functioning somewhat. He latched pathetically onto Megatron’s leg and the Decepticon tyrant snorted.

“Such heroic nonsense.” He sneered before he emptied his fusion cannon into Ironhide’s helm.

Brikerea smirked. “Can’t tell you how happy I am that that son of a glitch is dead.” She stated to Soundwave.

“Agreed.” He chuckled.

“So, we just stand around here and wait until we get to Earth?” Brikerea asked as she walked over to her mate.

“Are you so impatient for a fight?” He asked calmly as he gave her a look.

“Maybe.” Brikerea replied before she placed her hands on the control panel where there wasn’t any buttons. “Or maybe I’m just impatient for this war to be over so that I can have a certain tyrant all to myself.” She purred quietly.

She could sense Megatron’s grin before he chuckled. “You are going to have to wait.” He replied before he looked out the glass window in front of them. “Earth and victory are a long way off.”

She nodded before she straightened up. She brushed her arm against his before she walked over to where the other Seekers were standing around talking. “Don’t mind if I join?” She asked.

Skywarp shook his head before she stepped into the small circle and joined in on the conversation.

“Don’t you think we should move away from the hole?” Brikerea asked as they started entering Earth’s atmosphere.

“Why bother?” Starscream asked. “It’s not like anyone’s going to see us.”

Brikerea shrugged before she turned and walked a short distance away and leant against the wall. She turned her gaze towards the giant window and sighed slightly. The final battle was coming up quickly and she prayed that everything went according to plan. But she couldn’t squish the worm of doubt in her spark that something was going to go horribly wrong and that several of them were going to pay dearly for the mistake. She sighed before she shook her head, scolding herself about fretting over something that could very well not happen. But it didn’t make her feel any better.

Minutes later, Starscream jumped away from where he was standing as a laser blasted through the hole in the hull. Megatron growled before giving the order to attack. He gave Starscream a cuff on the head before they left and Brikerea hissed an “I told you so” before the Seekers flew out the hole.

There was a lone Autobot standing on a hillside with a small human boy beside him. The Seekers all fired at him, sending him scurrying down the hill to avoid their shots. Another shot flew up and just missed Brikerea’s wing, earning a slight gasp from her before she glared at the mech responsible. He looked older than Ironhide, and somehow, she wouldn’t doubt it since Ironhide wasn’t as old as he claimed. She snorted before she followed the others heading for Autobot city, letting the Autobot live; he would end up dying anyways in the battle.

They split up once they reached the perimeter of the city. Brikerea kept to the outskirts where there were less Autobots and focused on simply destroying the structure. She could hear Starscream shouting something not far away but kept focused on her task; she could feel the nagging feeling inside of her increasing with every passing minute. Something was going to happen, something that would make them all pay.

She heard Megatron give the order for the Constructicons to form Devastator. She glanced over and watched as Devastator started smashing into the wall of the city.

“Have you even bothered to eat any of that?” Kickback asked as he hopped over to where she was working on bringing a tower down.

“Eww, no.” She replied as she stuck her glossa out in disgust. “I’m not an Insecticon.” She added with a laugh.

“Suit yourself.” Kickback replied before he went back to eating the side of the tower.

She laughed before she went back to shooting, trying to releave herself of the panic that was blossoming inside of her. She heard humongous engines fly by over head and snapped her head up. “Slag.” She hissed. “Megatron, we’ve got trouble. They radioed in reinforcements!” She shouted over her com-link. “My guess is that it’ll some of Prime’s best.”

“Slag! Try to hold them off.” He replied.

“Just my luck, it’s going to turn out to be Optimus.” She muttered to herself before she whistled at the feasting Insecticons. “Come on you three; I’m going to need back up.”

“Why should we help? Help.” Shrapnel asked.

“Because if you don’t, I’ll make sure you are locked up in a vault for three weeks without any food.” She replied as she glared at him. “And you know that I am capable of doing that.”

They looked at each other before transforming and following her. She skidded to a halt beside Blitzwing and Astrotrain and began to fire at the transport driving towards them. Her shots missed him by inches and he continued to drive towards them. Blitzwing was hit and sent flying before Kickback was hit by a glancing blow. Optimus then decided that it was time to transform and as soon as he left his alt mode, he started shooting at them. He spun around for half a moment and shot her straight through the wing, causing her to cry out in pain. She watched as he continued on his shooting spree, hitting several of the others before he entered the room that Megatron was in after Devastator had broken through the wall.

She turned around in time to avoid getting hit by the mech that had been on the hillside as he went rushing past. She growled threateningly and the mech stopped and turned back towards her. She glared at him before she snorted and turned to see the older mech charging up behind her. She dodged out of the way as one of the Dinobots landed a short distance away from her and roared.

“Three on one? Somehow I don’t think the odds are in my favor.” She commented before she fired at the older mech. "But, it's not in my programming to drop dead at your feet and surrender."

“You get out of here Hot Rod.” The older mech snapped. “I can handle this upstart!”

The youngling nodded before he took off running. The Dinobot stormed over, roaring and swinging its spiked tail around. Brikerea sighed before she dodged the older mech’s attack. “Not bad for an old mech.” She commented.

“With age comes experience.” The mech replied.

“Hmm, I’ll keep that in mind.” She retorted before she dodged the Dinobot’s attack. “Which one is he? Snarl?”

“Why you flying lady want to know?” The Dinobot asked as he whipped his tail around again.

“Just curious.” Brikerea replied before she slid out of range. “Just my little Tempo was telling me about the scary Dinobots when she came back to us. She didn’t like you mechs too much.”

The old mech froze for a moment before he fired a shot and clipped her face. “So, you’re Brikerea.” He commented before he dodged a shot from her.

“Yup, that’s me.” She replied before she felt a shot penetrate her wing again. She screamed in pain before stumbling forward. She growled at the mech racing towards them. She snorted before she fired off her arm cannons and blasted him backwards.

“I heard a lot about you from Jazz.” The old mech commented as he and Snarl went back to attacking her.

“I figured as much. Still says that I’m possessed by Megatron?” Brikerea laughed before lasers started raining down around her. She shrieked as it sliced through her armor.

“Yah. He also said that you deny it.” He replied.

Brikerea laughed weakly. “Go figure.” She sighed before hauled herself back to her feet. She saw Astrotrain transform not too far away and the Decepticons were racing over to him. “Well gotta go. Nice talking to you.” She commented before she gave him a questioning glance and took off towards Astrotrain.

He chuckled behind her but she ignored him; she had a feeling that he was more worried about the others than about one Decepticon femme. She stumbled and grabbed the wall beside her as pain flared across her body; all the wounds were catching up to her. She looked up and wanted to swear; Astrotrain was starting to leave and the last of the other mechs were just getting onboard. She forced herself to move, even as she wanted to scream. She thought for sure that she wouldn’t make it to the triple-changer when she felt an arm wrap around her waist. She jumped slightly but accepted the extra help, although the few remaining Decepticons’ mouths were hanging open in shock. She glanced beside her and blanched; the old Autobot was helping her.

“Is your CPU shorting out?” She demanded.

The mech shrugged. “Hate seeing a femme stumbling around, even if they are a Decepticon.” He replied.

He released her before she stumbled aboard Astrotrain and he transformed into his shuttle mode and took off. She looked up at the confused gazes of her comrades and shrugged, equally as confused as they were. She looked around until she saw Megatron propped up in a corner and felt her fuel tank freeze in terror. She stumbled over to him, stepping on several Decepticons’ feet before she made it, not to mention staining the ground with her energon.

“Megatron?” She asked in disbelief as she collapsed beside him.

He turned his head weakly towards her and smiled. He nodded before she cuddled against him, nuzzling her face into his neck as tears welled up in her optics. His body was broken to the point that she was sure that he would offline soon without medical attention. She wrapped her semi-functioning arms around his body before turning and taking in the other injuries of her comrades.

Thundercracker and Skywarp were nursing wounded wings, Kickback was missing an antenna and several of his back plates, the horns on Shrapnel’s back had been blown clean off, Bombshell was missing the protrusion on his head, Starscream’s foot was slightly crushed, and others were sporting even worse injuries. She shivered before she rested her hand on Megatron’s chest, nuzzling his neck in hopes of some form of comfort.

“We’ll be fine.” Megatron whispered softly as he stroked her helm. “We’ve been through worse.”

Brikerea nodded, but her fuel tank clenched painfully as premonition raced through her. Something bad was going to happen and soon. She snuggled closer to her mate’s damaged body before she heard Astrotrain snarl.

“I won’t make it to Cybertron.” She heard him say to Starscream, who was standing near the door. “I don’t have enough fuel.”

Megatron growled slightly before he started nudging her away slowly as Starscream turned around with a malicious smile on his face. “Astrotrain wishes us to lighten the load.”

“If that’s the case, than I say survival of the fittest.” Bonecrusher stated.

Brikerea felt rage bubble through her fuel lines before Megatron managed to nudge her towards a few crates. “Stay hidden.” He whispered before turning back to the assembly.

“All against lightening the load?” Starscream’s voice rang out. There were several shouts of “nah” from the group. “All for?” More shouts of agreement met her audios and she covered her mouth in horror.

She heard several shouts of protest but they quickly vanished, almost as if they were never voiced. She looked at Megatron and felt tears leak down her face as Starscream picked him up and walked away.

“Wait! I still function!” Megatron’s voice rang out.

“Wanna bet?” Starscream sneered.

“STARSCREAM!” Megatron roared before his voice faded away.

Brikerea pressed a hand over her chest as she felt him drift farther and farther away from them. She wanted to cry out, but knew better than to. She heard the others fighting over who would be the new leader of the Decepticons, became slightly surprised when she heard Soundwave state that he was more superior than the others, but ignored them for the most part. She was too torn by the fact that they would so easily turn on each other; she had never experienced anything like it before within the Decepticon ranks. She covered her mouth to stop the sob from leaving her, but it only succeed in muffling it. She heard Starscream proclaim himself the new leader but it meant little to her. Something within her had grown cold and she just wanted to die. She knew that Thundercracker and Skywarp were gone, Megatron was gone, Starscream had betrayed them all, and more importantly at the moment, she was dying slowly. Her wings were riddled with holes, her arms were damaged and exposing several wires that were sparking, her legs were almost shreded, her jaw was crushed from where the old Autobot had shot her, and she was leaking energon faster than a fauset. She grinned weakly as she watched as a thin stream of energon flowing away from her; she hadn’t even been aware of the fact that she had been bleeding; she didn’t think she had any energon left to bleed.

“Hey, where did this energon come from?” She heard someone demand. She chuckle coldly to herself as she heard shuffling on the other side of the boxes.

“Oh slag.” Someone whispered. “Um, what do we do if we find another injured Decepticon?”

“Throw them out to join the others.” Starscream snorted.

She watched as Scavenger came around the corner of the box and swallowed. “Even if it’s Brikerea?” He asked.

“WHAT?!” Starscream shrieked. “No you do not throw her out! Forget that order! Start repairing her you idiot!”

Brikerea laughed weakly as the Constructicons picked her up and lifted her up onto the box to begin to repair her. “You hypocrite.” She sneered.

“What?” Starscream asked in shock.

“You heard me. You were in such a rush to throw the others out, but the moment I’m found injured you start ordering everyone to fix me.” She replied coldly as she forced herself into a sitting position, earning shouts of protest from the Decepticon medics and spilling even more energon. “I am far more damaged than Thundercracker or Skywarp or Shrapnel or Kickback or any of the others that you had flung out like garbage.” She added coldly before she turned her head to glare at the stunned Seeker.

“You are a femme and are far more important than any of them.” Starscream replied.

She looked around at the others until she found Soundwave. She gave him a pointed look and his shoulders seem to slump slightly as he understood her silent command. He walked forward slowly until he stopped in front of her. He hesitated for a minute before he reached down and picked her up. She smiled sadly before she rested her head against his chest as he turned and walked over to the door.

“What are you doing Soundwave?” Starscream demanded. "I ordered her to be fixed!"

“Take care of the sparklings for me.” Brikerea whispered to her younger brother. “I would have died from energon loss anyways. It’s better if they never see my corpse.”

Soundwave stood in front of the open door and nodded once before he held her out and released her. She gave him a sad smile before she was sucked out of his arms and sent tumbling through space. She didn’t even bother screaming as she began to float aimlessly through the endless reaches of nothingness. She saw her energon continuing to seep out of her and grinned weakly before she closed her optics and drifted off, waiting for death to claim her again.

She woke up to the sound of engines starting up and flying past her. She raised her head weakly before a bright light engulfed her. She gasped in complete shock as the light seemed to pull her forwards.

“You are late.” A deep voice stated as a blast of air tossed her backwards and into an upright position.

She blinked several times in shock as she stared at the gaping mouth before her. There were two horn-like attachments that were pointing straight at her from an orange sphere that was as big as a planet. She felt her intakes increase in panic as she watched the light stream out of the gaping mouth and past her into the inky blackness behind her.

“What?” She whispered.

“You are late.” The voice stated again and another blast of air jostled her slightly. “You should have been here when the other Decepticons arrived.”

Brikerea snorted weakly. “Well, guess I was hidden so well that no one found me until later.” She replied.

“I’m sure. Now, I have a proposition for you, little femme.” The voice stated. “I will heal you and give you an upgraded body if you agree to keep my new warrior in line.”

Brikerea snorted. “I’m not interested.” She replied coldly.

“Would you care for a more elaborated version?” The voice asked. “My new warrior is Galvatron, the upgraded version of Megatron.”

“WHAT?!” Brikerea gasped.

“He agreed to a new upgrade after I promised him a new army to command and Cybertron under his rule.” The voice replied. “It would be wise for you to agree to my offer, little femme. You do have two sparklings on Cybertron that miss you deeply. And your mate still lives and is waiting for you to return to him.”

Brikerea bit her lip nervously. “I…I accept your terms.” She replied quietly. “If only so my sparklings are not orphaned.”

“If you were so worried about that, why did you order to be thrown out?” The voice asked.

“I was almost dead at that point. Why bring back a corpse to Cybertron and allow them to see me in such a state?” She replied barely above a whisper. "I would rather them miserable than having nightmares for the rest of their existene."

“Hmm, a justifiable reason.” The voice replied. “Now, for your upgrade.”

Brikerea gasped as the light swam before her optics, temporarily blinding her. She felt her wings enlarge behind her while her shoulder vents folded backwards. The armor on her legs slimed out, along with the armor on her arms while the armor on her waist became far more curved. The light died down as she felt energon rush back into her fuel lines and energize her once again. She felt as good as ever, perhaps a little more powerful, but not enough to make too much of a difference. There was a small presence in her mind, small and pointless, but she had a feeling that it would increase if she did something to displease the fanged planet, whatever it was.

“Return to Cybertron and reunite with your mate.” The voice stated. “Welcome back to the living Bri….”

Kat shook her head slightly as Starscream shot the ends of the trumpets that the Constructicons were holding off. He really wanted his coronation to continue without further interruptions. She thought that the cape was a little much and just made him look like an idiot and she didn’t see the point of the crown at all. It was probably something he saw in the old archives on Earth and decided to give it a shot. Scarlet giggled slightly in her arms as she watched Starscream have the crown placed on his head.

“He looks funny.” She giggled.

Kat placed a finger over her daughter’s mouth before glancing at Trikon and Tempo. They were showing very little interest in the ceremony, not that she blamed them. When the others had returned, they had been informed that Megatron and Brikerea had both died soon after the battle had ended from their wounds. Thundercracker and Skywarp had shared that fate as well, leaving the sparklings without their parents and friends. She knew that they looked up to Starscream, but she could feel that they had a feeling that Starscream was behind Megatron’s death. Soundwave wasn’t saying anything at all and wouldn’t allow her to try to comfort him when she reached out to him over their bond. He appeared fine on the outside, but Kat could feel the turmoil that was going on inside his spark. She wasn’t sure what was making him feel like this, but she wished that she could help ease his pain.

She sighed again before shouts suddenly went up. She glanced up quickly enough to get out of the way of the space craft as it parted the crowd, sending everyone scattering. Someone jumped out of the cockpit as it opened and then the space craft transformed into a purple figure with two protrusions on its head.

“Bunny.” Scarlet giggled quietly.

Kat quickly placed a hand over her sparkling’s mouth.

“Who interrupts me coronation?!” Starscream demanded.

“Coronation Starscream?” The large, purple figure with three horns on its head demanded. “This is bad comedy.”

“Megatron? Is that you?” Starscream gasped in shock.

“Here’s a hint.” The figure snarled before he transformed into a large gun on a tripod.

He took aim at Starscream and fired. There was a sound similar to electricity running through a conductor and Starscream twisted into an upright position with his arms brought half-way up to his face. Kat watched as his colours drained away and were replaced by a very dull grey. She heard Trikon and Tempo whimper before one of them let out a cry out shock; Starscream’s body had begun to crumple. Kat felt unprocessed energon well up in her throat and she placed a hand over Scarlet’s optics.

“Don’t look.” She whispered as Starscream’s body collapsed into dust and his crown went tumbling down the steps of the platform he had been on.

The figure transformed back to his robot mode and crushed the crown beneath his feet. Trikon and Tempo whimpered weakly before he turned around. “Anyone else want to try to fill his shoes?” He growled.

“What did he say his name was?” Rumble asked.

“Galvatron.” The mech replied, tightening his hand into a fist at the same time.

“Hail Galvatron!” Everyone started shouting. Kat nodded along, not trusting her voice to be the normal pitch. Scarlet was chirping slightly, completely oblivious to what had just happened to Starscream. She probably thought it was a game in all her sparkling innocence and wondering why her mother had covered her eyes when the purple mech had given Starscream a new paintjob.

Kat glanced at where Trikon and Tempo had been and blanched; they were no longer there. She looked around frantically before she caught sight of blood red near the platform. She looked up and watched as Trikon and Tempo collapsed in Starscream’s ashes, curling around his still standing feet, and no doubt crying by the amount of head movement they were having. She shook her head sadly before a growl met her audios.

“Is there a problem, femme?” Galvatron’s voice snarled.

Kat jumped before looking left and into Galvatron’s optics. “No sir!” She yipped.

“Then why were you staring at the platform and shaking your head?” He snarled as he took a step forward.

“It’s nothing to do with you sir.” She replied as she hugged Scarlet to her and backed up. “I did not mean to be disrespectful, sir.”

Galvatron growled again until a loud sob drew everyone’s attention to the platform. Galvatron growled for a moment until he saw Trikon rub his face against Starscream’s boot. “Trikon.” He stated calmly. “Do not waste your tears on that traitor.”

Trikon glared at him, ashes sticking to his face where tears had leaked down his face. “I’ll cry if I want to.” He replied coldly. “You can’t tell me who not to cry over.”

“You are wasting your tears.” Galvatron stated as the mech that had accompanied him nodded. “Tempo, you too. Starscream would have just turned on you eventually. Stop crying.”

“You can’t order me around.” Tempo hissed as she hugged Starscream’s boot. “You’re not my daddy.”

Galvatron blinked in shock. “Excuse me?” He demanded.

“You are not my daddy.” Tempo repeated as she and Trikon staggered to their feet, ash clinging to the stains of their tears. “My daddy wouldn’t kill Starscream, no matter what he did.”

“Yeah!” Trikon agreed as he stood beside his sister. “You aren’t our daddy! And you don’t look a thing like him. He is silver and black, not purple like a prune!”

Galvatron growled. “Enough out of both of you.” He stated coldly. “I will not stand for either of you speaking to me like that.”

More tears fell down Tempo face before she screamed. “I don’t care what you think!” She screamed. “You’re mean and rude and, and, and ugly! Go away!”

Soundwave reacted quicker than most of the others and quickly raced up the steps to the platform and scooped her up. He cradled her to his chest before he picked Trikon up and hopped quickly off the platform. Galvatron growled but ignored the two bawling sparklings. Soundwave wasn’t sure if it was out of him being insulted or just not caring.

“Can’t you make him go away, Unca?” Tempo asked around a sob.

Soundwave shook his head before he went back to comforting them. “No, I can’t.”

“I hate him.” She whispered as she buried her face into his chest. “I want him to go away and leave us alone.”

"Yeah." Trikon agreed. "That meany just killed our last connection with Momma; I don't want him here."

Soundwave held the now sleeping sparklings against his chest as he left the platform area. Galvatron had left a few minutes before to go retrieve the Autobot Matrix of Leadership and had taken his new armada with him. Not that he minded, he personally cared more about the sparklings that were now under his protection. He sighed slightly before he started following his mate as she held the sleeping form of Scarlet protectively to her chest. Soundwave didn’t want the sparklings anywhere near Galvatron; he had attempted to rip Scarlet out of Kat’s arms because she had giggled too much in his opinion. If it hadn't been for Rumble pipping up about something or other, Scarlet would most likely be a corpse lying on the ground. He knew that his old friend had died in space and a new Transformer had been born into his empty shell and renamed himself; images of Brikerea and Megatron were filed away in the mech's mind. He could only hope that his older sister had in fact died and not been reformatted into a monster similar to Galvatron.

The sound of turbines powering down made him turn back to the platform. Silhouetted against the top was a tall female figure with large wings, far larger than any Seeker that he had ever seen. The figure squatted down in Starscream’s ashes and trailed her hand through the grey material. She stood back up with a handful of ash held tightly in her fist. She brought her hand up to her face and opened it slowly. She seemed to inhale deeply before blowing the ashes into the night. The ashes twisted and turned, forming the shape of a wolf before vanishing from sight. Soundwave stared at the figure in shock before she leapt into the sky and vanished from sight.

Author’s note: And that’s the end of this story. I’ve decided to turn this into a trilogy of sorts. “Resurrecting Love” will consist of the first years of G1 while the next one will consist of the third season of G1 to some degree. I have no clue what happens in season three so I’m going to be playing around with some things and just having a lot of random fun. Anyways, hope you enjoyed the story and I hopefully will get the next story up soon. Oh, and the reason it only has Unicron (yes “the voice” was Unicron) saying “Bri….” Is because he is saying the beginning of her new name! What do you think it is? And I still don't know why Kup helped Brikerea get back to Astrotrain. There are probably several reasons that may be explained in the sequels. So, please leave a review before you leave and tell me what you think, thank you! Additional thanks to everyone who has left reviews for this story throughout its running, they were greatly appreciated. I hope everyone enjoyed the story and are looking forward to the next one!
