A/N: Hello dear readers! I know that I promised to write a sequel to A Good End to a Bad Week quickly but I had a serious case of bad writers block. But I have finally got over it thanks to Hannah and Olivia yelling at me a lot over msn, so this is dedicated to them. More chapters will follow (crosses fingers hopefully).
Disclaimer: I own nothing except Olivia, Hannah and her family. CBS owns everything.
Hannah rolled over onto her side and plucked her mobile phone off of her bedside table where it lay ringing. “Hello Don.”
“How’d you know it was me?” Came a very confused Don Flack’s reply. “I’ve only called you once since you gave me your number.”
“You’re possibly the only person who has my number who can’t remember there’s a 6 hour time difference between London and New York.” She accused somewhat good naturedly. “It’s 4.30 in the morning here.”
“Sorry, I completely forgot. Should I call you back tomorrow?”
Hannah sighed and rolled onto her back looking up at the ceiling of her childhood bedroom, the room hadn’t changed a bit since she was last home. “No, it’s fine. I probably wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep anyway. What was it that you wanted to talk about?”
“Nothing really. I just wanted to call to see how life is across the pond.”
“It’s not too bad. I’ve been stuck with Liv, Jen, my mum and grandma mostly, since all we seem to do is try on dresses for fittings and such. You can tell that there’s a wedding going on, my dad and brothers are all desperately trying to keep out of my mum and grandma’s way. I’ve only seen them twice, not including when we eat together at meal times, since I got here.”
“The wedding’s on Saturday, right?”
“Yep, in 3 days time, then we come back to New York on Monday. I honestly never thought I’d say this but I really miss everything about New York, even Uni! Anyway, how’s the city that never sleeps?”
There was a chuckle on the other end of the line. “It’s doing okay. Lots of bad guys for me to catch as usual, other than that there’s not much going on.”
They talked for over an hour until the walking alarm clock that was her oldest nephew came running into the room at about 7 am and started jumping on Hannah’s bed.
“Wake up Auntie Hannah!! It’s nearly time for breakfast!” Cried the 4 year old with seemingly endless amounts of energy.
“Okay, Travolta, I’m up, I’m up! Just give me a minute. Why don’t you go make sure Auntie Livy’s awake?” This seemed to satisfy the little boy’s hyperactive nature as he jumped off the bed and ran down the hall to where Liv was still asleep. Putting the phone to her ear again she said: “Sorry about that. My brother’s are taking all the kids to watch a football game today so I guess he’s just excited. Anyway I have to go otherwise he’ll come back and start jumping on me again!”
“Okay. I promise next time I call I’ll make sure that it’s not night time there,” said Flack. After exchanging goodbyes, Hannah got out of bed whilst Flack climbed into his, but both of them had smiles on their faces.
