Black Silhouette
Your silhouette shines in the night,
Calling for protection
Against the raging winds outside,
Feigning satisfaction.
Floating freely through space and time,
You escape my cold gaze.
Returning to your hearth -- my heart;
Palpitate through my maze.
I search and search, but you are lost
Within my thoughts -- a ghost.
Though snow falls freely from the sky,
Your shadow falls the most.
December turns to May again;
Dead flowers do not rise.
Clear water shows my reflection,
But gazing back – your eyes.
The hours of the day go by,
Your silhouette grows dark.
No longer shining in the night;
The darkness left its mark.
