Carlton moved to follow Shawn but Juliet grabbed his hand and pulled him closer to her. He looked down at her, obviously confused, but did not try to break free of her grasp.

“Shouldn’t we follow them?” Carlton asked her. Juliet smiled—he was so cute when he was concerned about his job and reputation—then shook her head.

“That was just a copy of Jaws,” Juliet said. Carlton then started grinning, stopping when he realized that the tape was gone. The tape that had caught them doing something very unprofessional in a very professional place.

“Then where is the tape?” Carlton asked her. She cocked her head to the side and then looked up at him, a disgusted look on her face.

“You don’t think…you know, someone saw us and took it to…” Juliet began to say but stopped. Carlton looked at her and then back at where Shawn was standing.

“No, Juliet, you don’t really think…?” Carlton said. He grimaced and then looked at her again, she was grinning and playing with his tie.

“There’s no cameras in here,” Juliet said, her voice low and seductive. Carlton raised one eyebrow then kicked the door shut and backed Juliet up against it.

Psych—Psych

Gus and Shawn were sitting in their office behind their desks as Carlton and Juliet found themselves in a rather…never mind. Jaws was playing in the background but neither of them were really focusing on the movie.

“If we don’t have the tape, and Jules and Lassie don’t have the tape, then who does?” Shawn ventured out loud, finally shattering the heavy silence. Gus looked over at him and frowned, his brow furrowed as he thought.

“Security guard? A very perverted one, maybe. Or someone else that has a grudge against Lassiter,” Gus said, it was the best he could come up with. The exasperated look on Shawn’s face hinted that it was not good enough for him.

“Well, what do you say we go do some snooping and find out?” Gus looked at his watch and then at Shawn.

“It’s three in the morning!”

“Great, no one will bother us.” Shawn was already out of the door and heading towards Gus’ car. Gus rolled his eyes and followed him.

Psych—Psych

Sometime before Shawn and Gus had pulled into the parking lot Carlton had managed to dress both himself then Juliet and get her out to his car. She wasn’t heavy but he was finding it extremely hard to get up the few steps leading to his door with Juliet in his arms. She shifted slightly then opened her eyes and smiled groggily at him.

“I need to put you down,” Carlton whispered. There was no need to whisper but his voice seemed to have evaded him the moment she opened her eyes and she smiled at him.

Juliet simply nodded and then stumbled up the steps after him. He led her inside then back to the bedroom. Juliet slipped her shoes and jeans off then lay down on the bed. Carlton chuckled softly and covered her up before slipping off his own shoes and pants. He realized he had forgotten his tie somewhere at the police department. He considered leaving to go get it, so as not to raise suspicion about him and Juliet, but one look at Juliet sleeping in his bed was enough to make him forget about it. He pulled his shirt off then curled up next to her, holding her body close to his. It felt good to fall asleep next to Juliet.

Psych—Psych

As the two detectives were sleeping peacefully in Carlton’s bed Shawn and Gus were sneaking around the police station. It seemed like a rather pointless thing to do—since there was no one there—but Shawn had insisted. Gus followed behind him trying not to let on how bored he was. There was nothing interesting to see or do. Unless of course you counted Lassiter’s tie they found in the layout room. It appeared as if there had never been a tape in the VCR at all, and they were just wasting their time. When Gus brought this up Shawn whipped around and glared at him. He had opened his mouth to say something when the sound of approaching footsteps reached their ears.

They were standing in the middle of an open hallway. There was no place to run to and no place to hide. So they stood there, looking at the shadowy person that was walking toward them. It was impossible to tell whose eyes were wider—Shawn or Gus—but neither of them were paying attention to the fear emanating from each other.

The footsteps stopped and the person stepped out of the shadows. Both men gasped and then began to slowly walk backward, toward to nearest exit. It was probably pointless, but they still walked.

Psych—Psych

Both Juliet and Carlton were too tired to hear the sound of someone trying to pick the lock. Juliet frowned in her sleep and then burrowed deeper under the blankets and closer to Carlton. He swatted her away at first but eventually he pulled her closer to his warm body.

Soft footsteps were the only sound that broke the heavy, early morning silence. It was the creaking of the door that finally seemed to break the spell. Carlton opened his eyes and struggled to make out the dark figures in the doorway.

“Lassie, Jules, we need your help,” Shawn said. Juliet opened her eyes and looked at Shawn and Gus then closed her eyes and burrowed deeper into Carlton’s side.

“What’d you do?” Carlton asked them the words rumbling out of his chest and disturbing Juliet as she fought to go back to sleep.

“You’re gonna love this,” Shawn said. His tone was serious but his eyes were, like always, playful. Carlton slipped out of bed and pulled on his pants and shirt then followed them out to the living room, giving Juliet some privacy to get dressed.
