Redemption In Your Eyes

Major uploading of chapters being done here! I want to finish all my stories this summer! That’s the goal anyway.

I was kind of sad to see that I don’t really have a ton of reviews for this story! (cries) I was hoping for more.

All well, anyway, hopefully, the story is starting to kick off. I don’t think that this story is going to be very long. Maybe 10-15 chapters in total.

Enjoy the chapter! Oh, and by the way, I have started another new story that is called Scattering the Rains It’s an IchiRuki story. Please read if you have time!

DISCLAIMER: I don’t own Bleach

Chapter Three: Confessions of A Drunk

It didn’t take long for Matsumoto to find a bar. There were tons of them in Soul Society.

She turned the corner down a street in Rugonkai to see her favorite bar in view. She didn’t know why, but the sight of it somewhat calmed her down and eased her tension that she was feeling. It had been a while since she had had sake.

She walked into the bar, only to be greeted the by the soul that usually ran it. He was a pretty rich guy living in the first district.

“Oi! Matsumoto-chan! Long time no see!” He called from behind the bar counter with that ridiculous smile of his. Matsumoto couldn’t help but grin a bit herself.

“Hi Kiyuma. How’s business?” Rangiku asked casually as she walked up to the bar counter and took a seat.

“Always the same. Lot’s of customers. So, I heard that you fought in the final battle of the Winter War and got into a coma….. you feeling alright? It’s good to see that you didn’t die from that coma and all….”

“Of course I wouldn’t die! You wouldn’t have a favorite customer anymore!” Rangiku joked.

Kiyuma laughed. Matsumoto was always Matsumoto.

“You going to go heavy on the drinking tonight?” He asked casually. He knew that whenever she came here after not coming for a long time meant that she was coming for some heavy drinking.

“Yeah. Some really hard stuff has happened lately and I need some kind of null effect from it for a while.” Rangiku replied. She wasn’t lying… entirely.

“Yeah I gotcha. I know what you want, just this time, don’t fall asleep here okay?”

Matsumoto glared at him for a second before he turned to fetch her sake.

She was going to drink, and she was going to let herself free of the punishments of being what she was. She needed it, and quite frankly, she didn’t care about anything else at the moment.

Ichimaru sighed. It had taken him forever to finish his paperwork. He can’t believe that he was that much out of practice from doing it. Now, he hated that damn paperwork more than ever.

He took a step out of his office to get some fresh air. Kira had come by some time earlier that night to ask to be done for the night, and of course Gin said to go ahead and go home. Right now, being Mr. tough guy was not an option.

He was having this urge. He felt like he really needed to talk to Matsumoto. It was good thing that he finished his paperwork, and he had received word that she had been released from prison. He actually didn’t even know why she was in prison in the first place, but he guessed he didn’t really need to know.

Stopping for a moment, he began to ponder. Would she be awake right now? Probably. What would she most likely be doing at the moment? At a bar drinking.

He didn’t sense her spiritual pressure at the 10th division, nor in her room, and he didn’t think that she would be in jail again, which raised a question. If she wasn’t drinking in these places, then she was at a bar…… but which bar? There were a ton of them in Soul Society, and as much as he wanted to talk to Rangiku, he wasn’t so sure if he wanted to go hunting for which bar she happened to be in.

“And so hay wa like “I dunno dis, and why did yuu ass thad?” Matsumoto said, talking nonsense, obviously drunk. Kiyumi could only nodd and agree with her. This always happened, and it wasn’t as if he didn’t mind all the much, but it did get a little annoying at times that she would say stuff all together that didn’t make sense, or that he couldn’t tell what the heck she was saying.

The best thing that he could do was to nod, and act as if he knew what the heck she was talking about.

As the barkeeper listened to Matsumoto, he suddenly noticed another figure outside the bar door. It was dark, so he couldn’t see all the well, but he could tell that this person came from Seireitei. He definitely had a shihakusho and….. was that white that he was wearing?

“Hello? Anyone there? We are still open.” Kiyumi called. He knew that Matsumoto was still rambling on when he said this, but she just stopped, automatically, and scowl came on to her face.

She turned around in fury at the figure.

“Gin! If want something from me, get your ass in here and get it!” She yelled in fury at the figure. Even though she was drunk, she could recognize the spiritual pressure of that man from miles away as if she was sober.

The figure just stepped in, without a word. Kiyumi had a look of terror in his face. So, that was the man that Matsumoto used to always talk about? Ichimaru Gin, 3rd division’s captain.

“So, you want something from me or not, you asshole?” Matsumoto asked as she stood up from her seat. She swayed a little bit, but she seemed to be able to pull herself together. She was totally drunk, and yet, she still had the power to act like she was sober….. somewhat.

“Rangiku, ya need to calm down. yer drunk.” Gin said simply. This caused Matsumoto to have an angry look on her face.

“What do you know?! I’m fine, I’m old enough that I can take care of myself! I could care less if you went away without telling me! It’s nothing new!” She screamed. Her hand was on the hilt of her zanpakuto, and Gin knew that she was serious. If she was pushed to the point, she could try to kill him.

“No, yer not Rangiku. You need ta calm down an come home.” Gin stopped for a second to look at his childhood friend. He was utterly shocked on the inside on how she was acting. He had never seen her act to violently…. it made him worry, though he would never show it.

“You want to bring me home? Then you better fight for it!” She said, beginning to draw her zanpakuto.

This was serious. Using shunpo, Gin immediately seized her arms.

“What are you doing!? Let me go!” Rangiku commanded.

Gin knew that there had been a man watching them the whole time in horror.

“Sorry sir ,but if ya dun mind, im gonna take my drunk friend and leave.” He tossed the man to what he thought was more what worth of what the fukutaicho drunk, and disappeared.

Gin was back in his room. Halfway home, he noticed that Matsumoto had stopped yelling to let her go. When he laid her down on the bed in his room, she was sound asleep. Gin could help but feel relieved. Now, he had to think about what he was going to do with her. IF he left her here, then he was bound to deal with an angry woman in the morning. On the other hand, he could take her home, but that brat’s quarters are right by hers, so if he caught them, Gin didn’t exactly feel like being frozen for the rest of his soul life in Soul Society.

He was making some tea for himself when he heard Matsumoto. She had been asleep for at least an hour after her drunk rampage.

“G-Gin, what are you doing in my room?” She asked. Gin felt like slapping himself in the head…at least mentally. This woman had major mood swings.

“You’re in my room, Ran-Chan.” He replied simply. Matsumoto just blinked at him, then held her head.

“Ow, what happened, my head hurts like something is trying to crush it.” She mumbled. Ichimaru let out a sigh, hoping that Rangiku didn’t hear that, and opened another cupboard for a pill that would help her hangover.

He grabbed a glass and filled it with water, and walked over to Matsumoto.

“Here.” He handed her the pill and the glass of water.

“Thanks a lot.” He watched as Rangiku took the pill and drank it down with the water.

“Ran-Chan, I think I should-“

“Do you mind if I stay here?” She interrupted him. Gin looked at her confused. That was the last thing that he was expecting.

“Guess so.” He shrugged.

It was then that Matsumoto started bursting into tears.

“Why!? Why!? Why did this have to happen to me?” She sobbed. Gin looked at her guiltily.

“Everything…. hurts so much.” She cried. Gin sat down next her on the bed, putting his arm around her, but hesitated to do so.

“ How could you have left? Why did you leave?” She sobbed. Now she was really giving him the guilt trip.

“You…. don’t know how hard I tried to escape the pain, the hurt-“ Rangiku cut off in the middle of her own sentence.

“I knew that you ended up turning against Aizen, and that you saved me, but I couldn’t accept it. It was too hurt and drowned in my own sorrow that I refused to believe it, even though I knew, I knew that what taicho had told me was the truth.” She sobbed. Gin frowned. He didn’t like the fact that she relied on her taicho so much….. even though it seemed like she didn’t, and that she only annoyed the ice prince.

“Ran-“

“Gin, how could you? How could you not know? Not know the feelings I have had for you all this time?”

Gin stopped, as if frozen. He never knew……

Anyway, so that’s the end of this chapter. As I said, this story will not be all that long, so it’ll be a little fast pace since the storyline is just random drama anyway.

Thanks for reading, and I hope that you review! That would be great!

And please, if you don’t mind, check out my newest story Scattering the Rains. It’s IchiRuki.
