“Love and War”
I want to find love
And only then will the healing rain
Wash away the hate.
But there is no love
Because in war
There is no such thing as love.
If there was love
My voice, in great goodbyes,
Would bid farewell to hate.
My heart says love
But my mind tells a different story of this war;
For my heart has drowned in my tears.
I am at war
And there is no such thing as love
Only hate-
Hate that has burnt me,
Scarred me for life,
And left me with my broken soul.
Now that I look back
I wonder if war was worth the love
Were you really an enemy?
Wasn’t there love before this war?
Look beyond my eyes, tell me what you see.
There are only invisible tears now.
You are gone.
I am gone with you.
Love no longer exists between us
For this war I have created
Has created hate,
Forever banishing the word ‘love.’
