Family Reunion

Most characters represented in the game are mine. The Vengeance Sisters and Vengeance Inc. are all based on my characters.

Chapter One: Meet Hostile Vengeance

"Mary! Hold the door! They're coming in!"

"Robert, I'm sorry I slipped up! Longbow would've never found us if I wasn't so reckless."

Melissa Jackson watched it all unfold in her mind. Her parents were hiding behind the table. The house was helter-skelter, her mother wielded a rifle and her father held a shotgun. She and her sisters watched from the safety of a closet. She had no clue about what was happening. First her parents were counting money and talking about guns, and then a bunch of men with guns were attacking. They saw Melissa peek out from the closet.

"Honey, shut the door. You don't want to see this." begged her mother.

"Okay mom, I love you." She quietly closed the door, but saw one last thing. Her mother was crying and her father held her tight. Inside the closet, she barely saw the scared faces of her sisters. They heard more noises, gunshots and finally silence. The door opened, and a Longbow rifleman pointed his weapon at them. He relaxed the gun, and started to get them out. Melissa barely saw the limp forms of her parents, and...

"Gah!"

Melissa Jackson woke with a start on her bed, if you could call it a bed. She lived a simple life in Port Oakes in a large metal storage container. She got off of her stolen mattress and folded the stolen sheets. She checked her watch, and wrapped a towel around her green skin. At four in the morning, she could take a nice cold dip in the harbor, rummage for breakfast and rob a closed store. There was an upside to horrible nightmares of her parent's deaths, she figured. Melissa slipped into her home, and put on her suit.

She loved the suit. The blue complimented her blue hair, the padding helped cushion the blows and she had so many memories in her suit. From fights won to banks robbed, they'd been together for a while. Finally, she put her thug mask on and left home, happy and hungry. Melissa leaped from roof to roof of the harbor's shantytown, dodging the spare bullets and sword swings of the Lost inhabitants. Stopping to pull a fast smash-and-grab at a nearby supermarket, Melissa sat on a bench by the harbor and ate her ill-gotten breakfast of apples, chips and a breakfast sandwich.

Melissa chewed on an apple core while she observed the world around her. The Arachnos henchman did exercises in a parking lot, a couple of Marcone Capos were shaking down men, a few villains worshiped the Radio and the civilians walked by, minding their own business. Life was good for Melissa Jackson, even though she was a villain and lived in a container. Sighing happily, she opened the newspaper, perused the coded messages and tossed the core behind her. Her serenity was broken when the apple core bounced off her head. She felt the anger rise, and welcomed the strength.

"Okay! Who threw that?" She stood and spun around, fists ready.

She faced a couple of thugs, an enforcer and an arsonist. They were led by a young woman clad in biker gear, with long brown hair obscuring the right half of her face. Their leader crossed her arms and smiled behind her mask. "Are you Hostile Vengeance?"

"What's it to you?"

"I'm here to take you down a couple of notches. Get her."

They all opened fire at once, and Melissa dodged with a roll. Jumping out of the roll, she uppercutted a thug in the jaw, knocking him out and sending him flying. Hefting the other thug, she swung him like a club and beat the arsonist to the ground and discarded her weapon into the water. The enforcer took a couple of shots that grazed her, and Hostile Vengeance broke his arm, shattered a few of his ribs and knocked him out cold with a haymaker. With a leap, Hostile Vengeance tackled the leader of the goons and pinned her to the floor.

"We didn't meet the way I wanted to. My name's Hostile Vengeance, and I'm here to kick your ass." She head-butted the enemy, and grinned angrilly.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Reckless Vengeance, and you better cover your mouth." At that, Reckless blew a stream of poison gas at Hostile and waited for the paralysis. A puzzled look crossed her face when nothing happened.

"It is covered. Now, when you meet the reaper, tell them Melissa Jackson sent you."

Reckless' eyes widened. "You're Melissa Jackson? What were your parent's named?"

"Mary and Robert."

"Really? Did you have a sister named Lily?"

"Yes, why?"

"I'm Lily Jackson! Man, I'd always wondered what had happened to my sisters!"

Hostile got off of Reckless, and helped her up. She hugged her lost sister, and blinked back tears. "Aw sis, I can't believe you're still alive! I always thought you got shot or something."

Lily shrugged. "It has happened. You do get hurt in my line of work."

"Heh, really? Look, you gotta tell me all about it. We've all been separated for, like, 10 years! Look, come back to my place and we can talk about it. I haven't seen the others at all, maybe you can tell me something."

Lily smiled. "Sure, sounds good. Let's just drop of my thugs at the hospital, you did a number on them." They both hefted the bodies over their shoulders, dropped them off and headed to Melissa's home.
