The first time she got a postcard from Paulie Bleeker, she was sitting in Spanish class and he had handed it back to her from two rows ahead. “I’m having fun in Barcelona, wish you were here,” it had read. Short-term, it had made her smile.

Long-term, it had resulted in her having sex with him on a chair and winding up pregnant and bawling her eyes out while reading the second postcard from Paulie Bleeker.

This time she wasn’t in Spanish class and he wasn’t sitting two seats in front of her. This time she was lounging on her couch watching a Weeds re-run and he was in Gettysburg — where she would be too if she wasn’t roughly the size of a small baby hippopotamus.

“Got a postcard, Junebug,” Bren had said, tossing her the card as she passed by.

It was homemade, just like the first one.

It listed a few facts about dead guys and battle fields and a good running trail he had found. And then, written in familiar handwriting were the words, “I’m having fun in Gettysburg, but I’d be having more fun with you. Wish you were here, Paulie.”

Then every thing had gone to freaking hell as she started crying and Banana started barking and Liberty Bell ran sashaying through the room doing awkward twists and turns. “What’s the matter, Juno?” asked Bren, running after Liberty Bell.

“Pregnancy’s a bitch, dude, that’s what!” she had yelled back, before hopping to her feet, swiping at tears that she was only crying because she was an effing incubator, and waddling from the room, ignoring Bren, and Liberty Bell, and Banana.

The first time she got a postcard from Paulie Bleeker, she wound up pregnant.

The second time she got a postcard from Paulie Bleeker, she ended up buying three things of orange Tic-Tacs and eating them all in one sitting, just so that her mouth could taste like his again.

Stupid postcards.

A/N: Just a short one-shot inspired by a prompt from bowles over in the junoverse at livejournal. What ever happened to Juno and Bleeker's plans to go to Gettysburg over Spring Break? I like to think that although Juno may have been distancing herself from Paulie as the movie went on (until the Tic-Tacs in the mailbox), she still thought of him often. What about you? Please review!

(Line on the Spanish class postcard taken from the original script of the movie, in which Juno mentions what the postcard actually said when she admits to Paulie that she's in love with him.)
