No More Mom

This fanfic has been playing in my mind for a week. I had to let this out. This story is set just before ‘Boy Meets Mom Part 2’ ends. I don’t know much ‘coz I’ve only seen the anime. (Ranma ½ mangas are not sold in my country) Oh, and for the record, my pen name will be changed soon. Well here you go. A bit of OOC.

Ranma ½ is not owned by me.

Nodoka just walked, not caring where she was going. She was clearly sad, no disappointed, actually I have no word to describe what she’s feeling. For some weird sick reason she was restricted from meeting Ranma.

Maybe he was afraid of what might happen? Maybe it was the thought of committing seppuku? (Its how it spelled right?) Or is it just that Ranma hated her? No, that couldn’t be. Akane convinced her that Ranma was trying desperately to meet her.

Maybe it’s because she let Ranma go with her husband. Maybe that could be a logical reason why Ranma’s mad at her. She felt horrible after she agreed that Genma would take Ranma away to train him. A week passed after their separation years ago, she still cried and had dreams of her begging that Ranma stayed with her.

“Ranma, I want to see you,” Nodoka said as she blindly walked into a construction site. “I miss you so much.” (Funny, she doesn’t seem like she wanted to see her husband too. Well who would want to meet Genma?) Nodoka, lost in her despair sat (again blindly) on a hot water lever. ‘Warning. Hot water lever. Do not sit!’ the sign read but she didn’t even bother to read the warning much less caring about where she was at the moment.

Meanwhile, Ranma, Akane and Genma (in panda form) were leaving the restaurant they were in. Ranma was very close to finally let his mother know him. But of course, fate decided to play with him. (Well you guys know what happened in the restaurant right?)

The three were walking home when a blast of hot water shot up in the air. Ranma (currently in girl form) saw in the blasting jet of water her mother. “MOM!” she yelled as she ran towards the hot water tower leaving Akane and her father behind running after her. Ranma jumped onto a roof but accidentally slipped and lost her balance. She got up quickly and ran faster to save her mother.

Ranma roof hopped quickly to the now disappearing water. Ranma unluckily slipped and lost her balance again. She got up again. She had to get there, quickly or… The water fell from the sky as it lost its momentum. ‘No, please no’.

Ranma reached the ruined construction site. She didn’t see her mother anywhere. She searched around the place. Then, she saw a fallen figure near a pile of rubble. Ranma realized that it was her mother. She rushed to her side. Ranma rolled her mother’s body so that she could see her face.

“Mom?” Ranma said not caring if he was currently a girl “Mom, wake up. I…It’s me, Ranma.” Silence.

“Mom, come on wake up. This is not funny.” Ranma could feel her heart cracking.

“Mom, please wake up. Please.” Ranma was on the verge of tears.

Ranma noticed that her mother wasn’t breathing. Nothing could save her now.

“Mom! Mom! Wake up! Please wake up!” Ranma was now clearly crying. Maybe for the first time in a while.

“You can’t leave me! You can’t! You just can’t! Please! Mom!!”

Ranma (now male) was sitting on the porch in the Tendo’s house. He was devastated. He could not eat or sleep yesterday. He didn’t even bother to talk to anyone. At the moment Genma walked in behind Ranma.

“Why are you moping boy?” he said to Ranma

Ranma was clearly annoyed by his father. He didn’t want to talk to anyone, especially him.

“You should be happy because we no longer have to worry about us committing seppuku,” Genma said patting Ranma on the shoulder.

That set Ranma off. How could his father say that? Ranma’s eyes widened in anger. Pure complete anger. Ranma grabbed his ‘father’ and threw him towards the compound wall. Ranma threw him so hard that Genma flew through the wall and crashed into the wall on the other side of the street.

Ranma got up angrily and nearly broke the wooden floor. Ranma had his fists clenched hard in anger. His nails digging into his palm causing it to bleed.

“WHAT KIND OF A PERSON ARE YOU!!” Ranma yelled to his father in a loud dark voice. Ranma’s aura was huge. It burned in not the usual blue color, but a large black aura surrounded him. Every step he took left small craters of his footsteps. Ranma reached his father on the other side of the road.

“A MAN LIKE YOU DESERVES TO DIE” Genma saw something more frightening, more than death. Actually, he was facing death. Ranma’s dark power was massive. The boy’s eyes were red in color like blood. Ranma punched Genma not with lightning speed but with hard punches that could easily break three thick walls.

Ranma wanted to kill the man. Every punch he took, he yelled in his mind ‘DIE’. Akane came running down from her room after she saw what had happened. Kasumi, Nabiki and Soun were motionless. Akane ran to the other side of the street through the hole in the wall. Genma was being hurt badly by Ranma.

“RANMA! WAIT STOP!” Akane yelled. She grabbed hold of Ranma’s arm that was ready to deliver another blow to the severely beaten man. She held it back using all her strength. Then, Ranma’s dark aura receded and he fell onto his knees hands on the ground. A tear escaped his closed eyes.

Ranma was now currently on the roof. Genma was rushed to Dr Tofu’s clinic but then was sent to a hospital. He’ll spend his time there for two months, possibly longer. Ranma didn’t care though; he wished he could finish it. Finish the person that made him suffer, that made him half girl, that made him lose a mother.

Akane came up on the roof. It was nearing sunset and she wanted to call Ranma down before dinner. Akane saw Ranma sitting with his knees to his chest his arms crossed over them. He was staring off to the sunset his chin rested on his arms.

“Ranma,” Akane said “I know you don’t want to be bothered but dinner’s going to be ready.” Akane walked over to Ranma since there was no response from him. She sat down beside Ranma.

“Ranma?”

Again he didn’t respond.

“Ranma, I hate to see you like this,” said Akane.

Ranma was still silent.

“Ranma, I know how it feels to lose a mother,” Akane began “I understand how..”

“No, you don’t!” Ranma snapped. “You don’t understand what I feel rite now!” Ranma looked at Akane.

“Ranma?”

“What do you know about how I feel?!” Ranma said. Akane was about to protest when Ranma cut her off. “Do you know what it feels like to almost meeting your mother as you and it doesn’t happen?! Do you know what it feels like to hold your dead mother in your hands?! Do you know how it feels when your mother dies before even knowing who you really are? You don’t know what it feels like at all Akane! Not at all!”

Akane was about to blow, but then she realized what was Ranma saying. He’s right; she could never know what it feels like. It was impossible to imagine herself in Ranma’s position. Ranma was right, this feeling was much worse than what she could ever feel. She remembered her mother before she died but Ranma never remembered his mother. And before she could see Ranma, she died.

Akane then wrapped her arms around Ranma. Both stayed silent, not knowing how to respond. Ranma’s expression was indescribable. He knew that it already happened. He couldn’t change the past, even if there was a way. Now, he knows that he didn’t have a mother anymore.

I’ve got nothing to say here.
