Author’s notes: Hello Everyone! I’m currently working on the next chapter and will post it when it’s finished. For right now though, I’d thought I’d give kind of a brief overview of the past to ensure that we’re all on the same page. If anyone has any questions, send me a message.

As you know, Severus and Lily met before they went to Hogwarts. When they arrived at Hogwarts they were placed in separate houses. Lily befriended Chloe and began to spend less time with Severus. Severus resented this and went out of his way to make Chloe miserable until she confronted him about it. Severus discovered that Chloe wasn't as spoiled as he had believed her to be and she went out of her way to ensure that Severus would join her and Lily where ever they went, thus, effectively ensuring their friendships with one another.

Chloe came from an extremely abusive home and there were only two people who were aware it...Severus Snape and Albus Dumbledore. If you look back to the chapter where Severus regains his memories of Chloe, she mentioned that she wasn't going to worry about her parents anymore. It wasn't explicitly mentioned but this conversation occurred during the Christmas break of Chloe and Severus' first year.

The timing of this conversation is significant because it means that Albus was already interested in Chloe. At this point, we don't know why, but, we do know the result. Chloe is a parselmouth and Albus Dumbledore pushed her into using her gift to kill both her mother and father. His motives are still unclear and hopefully will be revealed soon.

Going back to what we know, Albus Dumbledore raised Chloe as his daughter. Their relationship is rather strange because it was both physically abusive but loving at the same time. This has been hinted at but I'll make it clear. Albus recognized that his daughter had feelings for Severus and did whatever he could to instill her with a sense that love nothing more than a game for the weak, however, Chloe struggled with this idea. Chloe, like Harry, has one of the noblest of hearts because despite the cruelty that has been inflicted upon her, she still chooses to find the best in people like Severus.

Going back to their fifth year, Severus and Lily's friendship ended with the OWL incident (like in the book.) Severus was so angry at Lily for not forgiving him that he pushed Chloe away as well. Chloe and Severus went their separate ways until Severus showed up intoxicated at Lily and James' wedding. Chloe found Severus in the wooded area outside the wedding and took him home.

In Chapter 32, Lily tells Severus that Albus had ordered Chloe to keep an eye out for Severus and do whatever she had to in order to recruit him for the order. Up until this point, Chloe had never defied him outright, so Albus had every reason to be furious when Chloe not only refused to recruit Severus but she slept with him only to end up pregnant.

Upon finding out that Chloe was pregnant, Severus wanted to marry her in order to ensure a relationship with his child. At first, Chloe refused because she was already on thin ice with Albus over not recruiting Severus, however, in the end Severus convinced her and the two of them eloped. After the wedding and the honeymoon, Chloe returned to face her father. From Chloe's perspective, Albus appeared to have forgiven her and embraced the idea of being a grandfather, however, we know differently.

This is where things become really complicated. Albus convinced Lily to pretend that she was pregnant. We have yet to discover Albus' motives, however, I hinted at Lily’s during the interrogation with Sirius Black. James and Lily wanted a child but were not able to conceive a child. Albus knew this and used this information to convince Lily that it was in the WIZARDING WORLD’S BEST INTEREST to raise the child as a Potter. (THIS IS A BIG HINT: Severus has neither overheard the prophecy nor joined the Order yet so how does Albus know that Chloe’s child will save the world?”)

A few months into Chloe’s pregnancy, Severus hears the prophecy and reports it back to Voldemort. At some point, he learns about “Lily’s pregnancy” and realizes that Voldemort is going to go after her. Severus and Chloe have yet to address this issue….but Chloe was furious when Severus joined the Order. She was beginning to have doubts about her father’s forgiveness and about the way he was running the Order. Going back to the interrogation of Sirius, Chloe was asking too many questions everything from where the money to fund the Order was coming from to the tactics that several of the members were using on suspected Death Eaters. As her pregnancy progressed, Chloe began to make plans to leave the country by changing her name and transferring her funds to a different vault.

Moving forward to the night of Harry’s birth, Chloe begged Severus to leave the country with her after the baby was born but Severus refused believing that he had to save Lily from Voldemort (This is an issue that Chloe and Severus have yet to address. Hopefully, now that Chloe’s memory is completely intact, they’ll be able to move past it.) The disagreement turned into a full blown argument and Severus stormed out of the house. Chloe went into labor and fire-called Lily who brought Albus. Albus and Lily moved Chloe to Hogwarts where Minerva delivered the baby. (Remember, we have yet to determine exactly what Minerva’s motives are. This will be addressed later on.)

Chloe’s misgivings about her father turned out to be current. Albus, Lily, and Sirius performed the Anabeo Curse which shattered Chloe’s soul into hundreds of pieces. The intention of the curse was to allow Albus to insert fake memories into Chloe’s soul in order to control her, however, we know that something went wrong. From Chapter 33, we know that both Severus and Sirius would have qualified as an unrequited love. The problem with using Sirius as opposed to Severus is that Severus’ connection to Chloe meant so much more than Sirius’ obsession. Despite the fact that he didn’t love her, Severus bound himself to Chloe through marriage and swore to protect her. The idea behind the Anabeo curse is that through betrayal we cast unworthy creatures out of the world. Chloe wouldn’t be considered as being unworthy of her life until everyone important to her cast her out through betrayal. This is why Lily had to bring Severus into the Realm of Excidere to finish off the betrayal. We’ll never know what would have happened if Lily hadn’t taken matters into her own hands. Although, we do know what happened as a result. Upon believing that she was completely gone, Severus realized that he didn’t love Lily nearly as much as he thought he had. Upon this realization, Severus realized that he had taken Chloe for granted and since she was now lost, so was his one chance of happiness. If Severus hadn’t realized this then Lily would have won and Chloe would have been gone forever.

I know this plot is complicated but I promise you there is a method to my madness. If there are any questions, please let me know and I’ll be happy to answer them. Bye!
